  1. What I thought were ice cream cones are bells. I hope I'm wrong with this, but... BEE + RINGING + UP + OTTER = "Bringing Up Father"? George
  2. Yeah. The Star Trek theme had words, too. (The song is called "Beyond Antares.") Thank God Shatner or Nimoy never sang it. (Though Nichelle Nichols might have?) George
  3. George, I hope your birthday is a great one! Any big plans? George
  4. Linda, You don't need a web site to post pictures from the internet. I wrote a set of directions on page 22 of this thread. (You can jump to p. 22 using the drop-down box next to the page listing at the lower left of this page.) George
  5. Bee + cones + launch +seal? George
  6. I presume that "Charlie don't surf" is a clue to a new movie, not another quote from "The Dead Zone." George
  7. "The Family Circus" has some cute ideas, but I found it annoying how often "the dead are alive" came up, not to mention the occasional trinitarian stuff. George
  8. Maybe I didn't hate the movie as hiway did is because my big take-away from the movie was the element of HUMAN courage, especially two scenes with Lois's boyfriend: first. landing next to an emerging island to save Lois and the boy, and then later risking his life to save Superman, who he knows is his rival, because it's the right thing to do. And let's not forget Lois diving underwater in a ball gown to save Superman, too. George P.S. Dan, you're thinking of Mr. Mxyzptlk. Of course, Superman has a large "rogues gallery" to choose from: Brainiac, Mxyzptlk, Toyman, Prankster, Parasite, Metallo, Ruin...
  9. You're right. Nothing you tell me will help. George
  10. It's a lot like the "Room 222" theme, but it ain't it. George
  11. It's actually "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension." Close enough. You're up, Raf. George
  12. Yeah, WW. Raf got Pirate's clue, and I got Raf's. George
  13. Darn!! That's another one that's very familiar but that I can't place right away. I'm sure I watched this one! George
  14. It looks like Val Kilmer to me. Was there a movie entitled "Valiant"? George
  15. I avoided reading this thread until I saw the movie, just in case there were some spoilers. (There weren't, but better safe than sorry.) I thought the movie was fine. There were a LOT of homages to Superman 1 and 2, but I got a real kick out of them. And it was nice to see Noel Neill and Jack Larson again. (Noel's cameo in S1 was all but written out in the theatrical cut; her part (as Lois Lane's mom, with Kirk Alyn -- Superman from the old movie serials -- as her dad) shows up in the uncut version. The special effects were great, though there wasn't much "super" action for a 2-1/2 hr film. I think I understand why hiway was so upset, since there was a MAJOR breach with the Superman - Lois Lane tradition. Hiway, just pretend it's "an imaginary story." (That's what DC used to call stories that broke from standard continuity -- as if all the other stories were "real.") I honestly don't remember whether Kid E was from Earth-S or Earth-4, and I'm not inclined to go look it up. WW, one small point: the 60's heroes were "Silver Age," not "Golden Age." (That was the 40's.) So, when do we get a "World's Finest" (Superman-Batman) team-up? George
  16. OK, OK I got the second theme now. One of the stars is doing rather well on a new show on CBS. Once a doctor, now a Fed! As for 5/4 songs, two others that come to mind are Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" and Jethro Tull's "Living in the Past." George
  17. "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band? George
  18. Remember, no matter where you go, there you are. George
  19. Your first clip WAS easy. Not many theme songs (or other songs, for that matter) written in 5/4 time. The second clip was really familiar, but I just can't place it. George
  20. Beats me. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be obvious! George
  21. One of the strict rules we have at work is no downloading. If that's why Sudo's and Rick's sites are blocked, I don't know. I DO know that asking my sys ad why I can't open such and such a site while I'm working would only open a can of worms. George
  22. Sudo's is blocked, as well. Maybe it's because of the fear of downloading music or something. I'd rather not ask my administrator. George
  23. Ca is correct. George And Neil Diamond actually recorded "I'm a Believer," but I think he did so after the Monkees (since he wrote it for the show).
  24. Bluzecentral is blocked from my work computer. As always, I'll have to wait until I get home, and then someone ELSE will have given the answer. :( George
