  1. Pre-1964, I probably watched TV and may have watched the show, but I don't remember it. At first I thought it was THIS SHOW, but that was later 60's. George
  2. I don't know if there's such a movie, but "Sidewalk Sale"? George P.S. Flash Gordon was correct, of course.
  3. Here's an easy one, at least for comic book fans: George
  4. Normally, I would bridle at "flute oboe" for "flew over." but it's actually pretty clever. I assume the first picture is Juan Valdez, from the old coffee ads. I believe Likeaneagle is up! George
  5. Teri Garr Mom and Dad Save the World Jon Lovitz George
  6. It's funny. Sometimes all the clues show up; sometimes there's a little "x" where a picture should be; sometimes one takes a long time to load; sometimes one never shows up. It may have to do with browser (Mozilla vs. IE vs. ?) George
  7. Well, since Sharon apparently answered her own post (???), I guess we're back to WW's (a song I don't recognize). George
  8. Matthew Broderick Glory Cary Elwes George
  9. I hope the first clue isn't too obscure. George
  10. Thanks, Tom. Pretender America. No, wait... "Air America." George
  11. Robert Redford The Natural Darin McGavin Geroge
  12. It's been a long time since I met Research Geek (I doubt he remembers); but I thought he was pursuing an advanced degree in Aramaic at U of Chicago at the time (ca. 1980). Whether or not he had an advanced degree before joining TWI, I would consider him a scholar. I imagine Catcup would, too; perhaps it was spousely modesty that she mentioned someone else! George
  13. James Earl Jones Coming to America Don Ameche George
  14. I agree with Raf, Ca D, but I want to make sure you know we're not trying to discourage you from posting. Sometimes it just takes a little while to think of a good clue for a syllable or syllables. (And then it can be REALLY frustrating when you can't find a picture for it!) George
  15. I think it's a PRE-school, Tom. This is getting to be like those "diacrostic" puzzles in a crossword puzzle book: figure out a clue, figure out the puzzle from the few clues you actually get, and then figure out the other clues by reverse engineering. I think the puzzle-posters are just getting lazy. George
  16. The Mummy Brandon Fraser George of the Jungle George
  17. Thanks. In the Nostalgia Thread, everyone kind of hints at the answer to the clues, but sooner or later the actual answer is given. Please show the same consideration to those of us not "in the know." George :)
  18. Here's an idea. How about we play a game where someone gives a line or lines from a song, and then SOMEONE GUESSES THE SONG AND THE ARTIST! George
  19. Unfortunately, those lines could have been in a dozen movies. I'm glad WordWolf got the right one. George
  20. I imagine I've seen Mark Ruffalo, but I have no idea who he is. And I don't appear to be alone in that regard. Maybe Dreamer ought to take the next step. George
  21. Hmmm. Pooh didn't come up on my work computer. Double entendre intended. George
