" If I get any trouble outta you guys, I'm gonna integrate this jail." "If you win this case, justice will prevail, and if you lose, justice will also prevail. Now that is a strange case." "I need a drink." "At three o'clock in the afternoon? What would your wife think?" "I'm my own man, Lucien. I drink when I want to." "When did she leave town?" "This morning." "Our society cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands." "We knowed each other since childhood. It's my fault. No matter what gets said in court. I knew what I was doing, and I sure didn't intend to hurt you, but just them two boys. I know it don't mean much now, but I'm sorry." 1."Ask if he thinks I should go to jail." 2."Carl Lee, they amputated his leg because you shot him. He's the prosecution's witness." 1."You're my lawyer ain't ya? Ask him." 2."Your Honor, one question." 3."Make up your mind, Mr. Brigance." 2."Deputy Looney, do you think Carl Lee shooting you was intentional?" 4."No sir. It was an accident." 1."Ask him!" 2."Do you think he should be punished for shooting you?" 4."No, sir. I hold no ill will toward the man. He did what I would have done." 2."What do you mean by that?" 4."I mean, I don't blame him for what he did. Those boys raped his little girl." 5."Objection, your Honor! The witness's opinion on this matter is irrelevant." 2."Your Honor, I believe Deputy Looney has earned the right to speak here today." 3."Overruled. Continue." 2."Go ahead, Dwayne." 4."I got a little girl. Somebody rapes her, he's a dead dog. I'll blow him away just like Carl Lee did." 5."Objection your Honor!" 2."Do you think the jury should convict Carl Lee Hailey?" 3."Don't answer that question." 2."He's a hero. You turn him loose." 3."The jury will disregard..." 4."Turn him loose!" 5."Your honor, you silence that witness!" 4."You turn him loose!"

That's him. He made one career out of a lot of those Hammer horror movies, and was part of their "dream team" (or, I guess, "nightmare team") that all collaborated on "The House of Long Shadows" (along with Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and John Carradine.) He was introduced to our generation when he played Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin in "Star Wars." (Episode 4-a New Hope.) As an older British actor, he also played a number of other roles for British actors, some quite famous.

Any chance this is "Othello"?

*checks* It does indeed. My browser security settings tripped me up there. Somehow, it let me in to Matthew, but nothing else, until I made some changes. You recall correctly. You probably recall my surprise upon hearing another version used the italics. It was later that I read a book that gave some information on a number of versions. It looked like they were trying to say the NIV was tops, but they highlighted all the things I wanted in a paper Bible- and they all applied to the NASB but not all to the NIV. The only things I don't like about the NASB: A) It refuses to call itself a "version", and I find that pretentious B) it's not public domain, so there's limits on where and how it can be found Those don't stop me from buying copies or using it online, I use it despite disliking those aspects.

It is "TAXI." Personally, I didn't think the clue was that good, but ok, I can be a hard critic on my own stuff. Elaine Nardo:"I'm only going to be working here part-time. I'm not really a taxi driver." Alex Rieger: "Oh yeah, I know. We're all part-time here. You see that guy over there? Now, he's an actor. The guy on the phone, he's a prize fighter. This lady over here, she's a beautician. The man behind her, he's a writer. Me? I'm a cab driver. I'm the only cab driver in this place."

According to one character in this series' pilot, he was the only person who actually admitted to his job- all his coworkers claimed they were really all in other professions, but worked with him to pay the bills until their careers took off.

So it's Raf's turn, even though we started chatting afterwards.

Raf, you're thinking of the NASB-The New American Standard Bible (version.) Last I heard, the Bibles that add the italics for that are the KJV, New KJV, and the NASB, and the JW's "New Kingdom Translation" version uses brackets to serve the same purpose. Of those, I think the NASB would serve a modern audience best. The KJV's language is 500 years old, and the phraseology is archaic. That's fine for us Shakespeare fans, but for everyone else? A source independent of twi and ex-twi groups really talked up the NASB, and I've found it's the version I recommend now. ================ As for my opinion on how the REV renders John 11, I can't form one because they posted Matthew but not John online. So, their version is not available. Unless this was some sort of attempt to boost sales of the book, we're at an impasse about anything except Matthew.

Well, Team Knight Rider and M.A.S.K. didn't use a family. Was this something like "the Thunderbirds"?

I liked it better with "Let's Go Crazy" in the mix. "Purple Rain."
-
It reminded me of Eddie "Hudson" Hawk, also. It would help if I'd seen the "Mod Squad" movie, because "Link" might have been "Lincoln Hawk." *wild swing* Omar Epps?????

That's it.

Yes, I rattled that list off from memory. Charlie's had cameos since then. He was in the 3-part "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps" for a busy panel, and he's been assigned a sector with no life-forms at one point. He's had a few short stories, one in that sector. "Whatever Happened to Charlie Vicker?" showed him after Hal Jordan/Parallax depowered the GL Corps. Charlie was on a planet with a despot. He was using his acting skills to put on plays that inspired the natives to rebel. Lately, of course, he came back when the Corps was revived. With twice as many GLs now as when there were 3600, they had to grab every surviving veteran they could convince to return. Corey Reynolds pitched the idea of a trilogy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lantern_(film) "Actor-writer Corey Reynolds, a comic book fan of the John Stewart character, pitched Warner Bros. an idea for a trilogy, with him starring as John Stewart and performing screenwriting duties. Reynolds intended to introduce Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern Corps and Justice League in possible sequels."

I thought I'd written out Audrey Hepburn's name. That's funny.

So much for MRAP not having an "intent to judge." That had nothing to do with what Rocky posted. He posted some academic information which could be some good talking points, and some people will read them for themselves. I don't know what you HOPED to find in his post, but it sounded more like if it wasn't some sort of sermon, it was wrong in your eyes. That's not how it works here. (Or in most of life.)
