  1. Simon, would that be a checkered cab of dung?
  2. WG, was it '74-75? I was in Ft.Worth in the summer of '75, right before I went WOW.

    8th Corps

Only two of those names rang a bell...Wolfgang and his wife stayed over at our house one night in the early eighties on their way to headquarters, maybe. I think I remember David Wilensky and his wife being at Mark and Holly Lewis' house in Baton Rouge around 1986. There were charades and drinks and merry hearts making good like medicine. Let er rip with more names, if you please.

    8th Corps

Hey there, Lifted up up and away... How about jarring my memory and name some names of some of your beloved and absent 8th corps bretheren and sistern (which can hold no water). Other than a handful of folks, I can't remember who was in what corps. Might as well, since they seem to have been caught away...
  5. Adios, check your private topics.
  6. Hey Ex, If it's to be, it's up to me I prefer: ooh-wa-lee, sure gotta pee The Florida folks are awfully quiet. I'm a little concerned. Hope you guys are O.K. and that your power is restored soon.
  7. Goey and Oak, my thoughts exactly...if only my thoughts were that well organized. Thanks for your posts.
  8. O.K., this is sick. I'm not even 9th corps but I've gotten so used to your thread being at the top that I've gotta bring it up to the top! :)-->

  10. Lightbearers was a recruiting tool, where in-rez corps were sent for two weeks (in the spring?) as a group to an area to witness and put together a piffle class. As a host, the first year hubs and I were married they sent 5th and 7th corps to our little town. There were four of them, two of us, and two college division folks. The four corps stayed with us in our two bedroom-one bath duplex. For two weeks. Did I mention one bath? They were good people, not Nazified, and we enjoyed their company. I was just glad to get my bathroom back. I much prefer those two weeks to my two in-rez deployments. I detested "witnessing", but managed to witness to some of the finest cheesecake and pizza that Chicago has to offer...
  11. They were family corps overseers? Geez, last I knew they were thinking of leaving their second year in rez. We sent them money to help them with their "escape" but didn't hear from them after that.

    Abusive Patterns

Dmiller, I am praying for you and the situation in the group home. I agree with what cool waters said about there being a liscensing agency that should be very interested in seeing a log of what's been going on. All I can tell you is that I have found it very helpful to go to the powers that be with specifics, date and time, not generalities. There might be a better link, but have you tried googling "The ARC"? They might be of some help. If I can find more information I'll let you know. God bless you for your dedication and loyalty to your clients. Shaz, God bless your heart for doing what you could to stand up for the kids, and thanks for your insight.
  13. If I have a black light in my home office, would that make me a black light poster? Hi Mother Ex, and congrats on your mega posting. I enjoy the fruits of your addiction. Thanks to all you 9th corps posters for providing me with daily grins. Back to the shadows...

    Abusive Patterns

Dmiller, have you tried approaching your boss's boss with very specific, dated quotes of what was said to the clients? Is your workplace privately run, or is it run by a state agency? Are there any of the client's family members who would be interested in seeing a log of what has been said to their loved one? Documentation is crucial.

All I know about Greg Bernardini is that he and his wife Cindy were the children's coordinators at Rome City during our corps time '84 thru '86 at least. Beyond that, I have no idea.

    Family 10, 11, or 12

Megan, your mom's name rings a bell but no light bulbs are going off in my head. I most definately have CRS, advanced stage. :)--> What kids do you remember while there? My son would have been five when you were came.
  17. Thanks again for the info. I found Kevin's number using the search you suggested so now I just have to find a good time to call. Were you by any chance in the 11th corps?
  18. Wolf, thanks for the welcome and the Tonto joke and insight. I enjoy popping in and out of the cafe and booth-hopping.
  19. This is unfortunately not a "whoop-***" story, but just a tiny tale of rebellion. During the fall of our second year in Rome City, we were sent to Wisconsin for a long weekend to help pick apples at harvest. It was a nice getaway for the most part, but on one of the mornings additional corps folks from that area were sent to aid the owner of the orchard. One of those guys decided it was somehow his duty to grill me about that week's corps night. Even back then Craig's rantings didn't make sense, so I learned to tune it out. This guy wouldn't let up and was demanding a response, so I took a nice Cortland apple out of my pouch and clocked him right in the forehead with it. The look on his face was priceless. He was stunned, and more importantly, he didn't say another word to me.
  20. Well, talk amongst yourselves and decide if you think the Spanish interpretation of my name applies. :)--> I'm sticking with mine. Shoot, I gave away some nice silver and turquoise jewelry from an old boyfriend when I started going to "twig", I threw away years of concert ticket stubs before I went wow, and I took an impressive vinyl collection to the dump on Uncle Harry Day. I think I'm keeping some way crap just to reject that old method of operation. (But if there was serious money involved I could change my mind).
  21. Choo-Choo! Another derail, but Mister P it is from the Lyle Lovett song "If I Had a Boat", which has a line that says "The mystery masked man was smart, he got himself a Tonto and Tonto did the dirty work for free, but Tonto he was smarter and one day said Kemosabe, kiss my as* I bought a boat, I'm going out to sea"...I see the masked man as Wierwille/Craig/corrupt leader of your choice, Tonto as all of us who slaved away years of our lives , and buying a boat and going out to sea as leaving the insanity of the cult and getting on with our lives. Does it mean "foolish" in Spanish? If so, that IS pretty funny but not what I intended. Back on track...I have hardbound piffle series and some teaching tapes from the 70's, and other stuff. We tossed lots of stuff years ago, but kept a few things. I'm with you guys that I don't want to promote TWI by selling it.
  22. Hey Hooner, In the family corps one of the jobs my hubs had was taking care of three year olds. One afternoon they were really wound up and he was particularly tired, so he told them they were going to have a rock contest to see who could be the very best rock. They did such a good job that some fell asleep, and he got a few minutes of peace and quiet...sorry for the derail.
  23. Thanks, MTgal. I'll give it a shot. Is that MT for mighty gal?
  24. Hey Ex, can I get you some Robitussin for that cough? Or maybe a shot of Jack Daniels...that might do the trick. And Tom, no offense taken. I was the one who chose the name. Witnessing? BTDT. ;)--> My kids are 24 and 16. Let me tell you, it was a whole lot harder having a baby at 34 than at 26. Yep, I'm an old fart.

    Family 10, 11, or 12

I'll P.T. you soon, and Karmic again soon. I'm sorry to hear about your family, but glad you're free. It must have been hard to have been a teenager there. I think our son was fine because he was young enough to not be scarred by it. For the most part the staff that dealt with the kids seemed to be pretty good folks, but who really knows what was going on? There was an interim corp girl there who never should have been around kids who got after my son with a spoon once and left marks on his bottom. I never could stand that be-atch. I'm getting mad thinking about it, but I digress. Wow, you quoted Shakespear. Can I adopt you?
