Does anyone remember this song? ~Ashton Gardner & Dyke~ Resurrection Shuffle. I used to listen quirky song on the radio while going to college in 1971. It has a good beat. I especially liked the horn section. FREE POST

Well you did bite on it anyway, by commenting George. Usually silence is a response that means no one has a clue. I'll give it a little while longer for now.

Tom Jones did a cover of this 70ish song. Added more lines too.

Choose yourself a partner From the middle of the floor Blow a little kiss To the woman next door Step on the gas Put your head in the air make a "V" sign And you throw back your hair Put your hand on your hip Now you let your back bone slip Put out your tongue Put your head in the air Make a "V" sign And you just don't care Now you feel free you gotta lose control All Gods children got some soul You don't have to think you don't have to move a muscle To do the brow beating, heavy, leather, A few more lines......

Do you believe that if a man repents enough for what he done wrong, that he'll get to go back to the time that was happiest for him and live there forever? Could that be what heaven's like? I just about believe that very thing. I had a young wife when I was eighteen. We spent the summer in the mountains, made love every night. After we would talk sometimes till the sun came up, and she'd lay there, bare breasted in the fire light... that was my best time. Heaven, I'm in heaven... heaven... heaven... What do you want me to do John? You want me to let you walk out of here and see how far you get? Now why would you do a silly thing like that? When I die and I stand before God awaiting judgement and he ask's me why I let one of his miracles die, what am I going to say, that it was my job? You tell God the Father it was a kindness you done. I know you hurtin' and worryin', I can feel it on you, but you oughta quit on it now. Because I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand? Yes John, I think I can. What's your name? John Coffey, Ma'am. Like the drink, only not spelled the same No Ma'am. Not spelt the same at all.

It might be because it is Petticoat Junction. Yes, those were the 3 sitcoms that Frank Cady played at the same time. Green Acres was the spin-off. Your up Georgie.

That's embarrassing, ~The Spinner's~ of course. Choose yourself a partner From the middle of the floor Blow a little kiss To the woman next door Step on the gas Put your head in the air make a "V" sign And you throw back your hair Put your hand on your hip Now you let your back bone slip Put out your tongue Put your head in the air Make a "V" sign And you just don't care Bragging rights if you (anyone) can get this one!

This 60's sitcom lasted for 7 seasons. In it's third year, several cast members were used to spin-off a new series. Characters from both series regularly starred on each other's shows. One of the actors from the original sitcom became the only actor to ever play the same character in 3 different television series simultaneously. Two of the original cast members who were married on the sitcom in one episode, were actually married in real life several months later.
