  1. More from the same movie (for the following, I'm cheating. The first quote was from memory. The second was posted from memory and corrected by cheating. The following are taken off a web site with movie quotes)... They used to be fat and juicy and now they're twisted. They had their lives stolen. Well, they taste sweet, but really they're just humiliated grapes. I can't say I am a big supporter of the raisin council. Some cultures are defined by their relationship to cheese. Ruthie, do you got any avocados? "He can really cook, can't he?" "Yeah, although for grilled cheese, I might use the wool setting." "That's what I told him." "Really? What did he use?" "Rayon. Silk would have been too soggy. Cotton would have..." "Would have burned it." "Right. Fortunately, he consulted me before giving it steam. I was four square against it." And if you still don't get it, then I've stumped ya!
  2. Actually, if we hadn't just used Dune, it would have been easy to link Michael Nouri to The Hidden and Kyle McLaughlin. But alas, we did. And if you're really good, you spotted Robert Wuhl in one Flashdance scene, recognized him as the photographer in Batman, and could link to a whole buncha folks. But I can't imagine remembering that. So, instead of Flashdance, let's do... Runaway Jury
  3. Right, a cameo is sufficient. I just checked IMDB to see if there is anyone in it other than the one guy I'm thinking of. Most of the cast remained unknown, but there is one guy who had a bit part and later became, well, not FAMOUS or anything, but at least better known (as in, decent role in major, major blockbuster). If you're all stumped I'll pick another Beals movie.
  4. Right! Cindy! Well! Done!
  5. Two more haikus for this one, which is tougher than I thought it would be. Another hint: I just referred to it on another thread... Where is this I wake? Arrest could be solution Please leave me alone This does not feel good I've never had this much hair What big teeth I have.
  6. Okay, two things. Steve! went from Spy Kids to Antonio Banderas to Spy Kids 2, which is normally not kosher, BUT he did it to get to Steve Buscemi, who was not in the first Spy Kids movie, which makes it kosher. Well done. Second, no, it only counts if the singer was actually in the movie: not on the soundtrack. The person has to be on the cast list. There are some cases where it's iffy, and those are allowable (for example, Lea Salonga is the SINGING voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, but someone else is the speaking voice: in that case, since Salonga is voicing a character, she's allowed. There are other cases like this). So, we're at Sting, right? The Bride Jennifer Beals Flashdance
  7. HCW is absolutely correct. If he were to say, for example, you are a misogynistic sycophantic idolater, that would better qualify as a personal attack (although I contend that at least 2/3 of that probably qualifies as simple observation as well).
  8. Another quote from the same movie... (Corrected: there was a typo AND I got the quote a little bit wrong). You can't bet a human being!
  9. If I'm right, the next clue is... "Did you go to school for that?" "No, I got thrown out of school for that."
  10. A big name star whose first major role was in a monster type movie... Clint Eastwood in Revenge of the Creature. Ah, but you said STARRING role, and Clint Eastwood's appearance in that movie was minor. Johnny Depp's role in Nightmare on Elm Street was also not a "starring" role. Nope, that would have to mean... Steve McQueen in The Blob
  11. Clues and hints are entirely up to the one who posted the quote. If I were you, LU, I'd post a hint or another quote from the same movie.
  12. I think Mystic River was terrific, as was Million Dollar Baby. The Aviator was grand and spectacular, but soulless, a criticism you can't make about Million Dollar Baby. Ray was terrific, too. I think it's a toss-up whether it was better than MDB.
  13. I thought you knew. Your reply was correct. I am stumped by your clue. Anyone else?
  14. Well, I guess she showed me. Congrats on the Oscar, CB!
  15. Billy Crystal City Slickers Daniel Stern
  16. Oh God, I forgot the name of this... Doogie Howser... Ham Tyler... Starship Troopers Tragic vacation Friend's dead. It could have been me. Now it must be me.
  17. Goodness, you guys are really taxing our brains with these. :)--> The Pope Must Diet no, wait... Spider-Man 2 Hang on, I can get this... West Side Story... No? DANG! All right, fine... Titanic
  18. Isn't there a scripture against haising yourself?
  19. In fact, to keep it fun, anyone with a movie Haiku can jump in whenever they want. Technically it was Steve!'s turn. But who needs rules?
  20. Any of the first three Star Wars movies, George. That is, the first three released movies. :)--> I don't think you need to wait for this one. Just go for the next one (and you can ignore the "seasons" rule. :)-->
  21. Ok, lemme clarify: My haiku was a clue. You guess the movie (I'm just in that kind of mood lately). You guess right, you haiku next.
  22. Umm, because one is Hebrew and the other Aramaic? Maybe?
  23. :)--> Is that a guess? If so, it's incorrect. :D-->
