  1. Jurassic Park 2 Julianne Moore Hannibal And a challenge to avoid the low hanging fruit in Hannibal. Rules update: I said on the first page that voices count (ie, Antonio Banderas in Shrek 2). What doesn't count is soundtrack voices, so, for example, we can't use Phil Collins for Tarzan because he only sang on the soundtrack: he wasn't the voice of a character. Rosie O'Donnell was the voice of a character, so she would count. Carry on. :)-->
  2. Sigh. That's not what I said. All I said was "I don't think this stuff is harmful." I did not claim this on the basis of any evidence whatsoever, anecdotal or otherwise. It's the absence of evidence that leads me to this conclusion (ie, no reports of people drinking it and developing liver disease, for example).
  3. Welcome to the Cafe. Wierwille cited Martin's books several times in JCOPS. I've never read Martin's book on the subject.
  4. It's legal for TWI to seek the information, but illegal for Pitney Bowes to provide it (assuming Bluzeman to be correct). If TWI just asked for it and received it, they did nothing wrong (again, assuming Bluzeman to be correct about the law on this). But if they did anything else, (a payoff, a mole, etc), then that would be of, shall I say, questionable legality.
  5. I just happened to be going over Karl's book the last few nights.
  6. Tonto, Yes, it's a good idea to bold the entries to distinguish them from the chit chat. The Scarlet Letter Gary Oldman Bram Stoker's Dracula
  7. By the way, I didn't say anything earlier, but it's good to see you back. I was going to offer you some coffee, but in your case...
  8. Sigh. Looks like several hundred years from now, I still will not have won my little crusade. :)--> I didn't know about the casting call. That's a good one. I did know about Bill Paxton, though. Is he the one who gets a punch through the gut? I forget. But I do recall he was one of them. The script for Rocky was written in three days. I'll bet you didn't know that. :)-->
  9. According to Karl Kahler's book, what he nailed to the door was: "Jesus Christ Is Not God. Never was. Never will be."
  10. Jason Isaacs The Patriot Heath Ledger Not tripping me up with the chick flicks. Hell, I put "Sommersby"
  11. Just saw the Robert Preston version of The Music Man again the other day. Definitely a gem.
  12. The Pope and Fidel Castro will preside over the funeral of my grandchildren. They are immortal! Best wishes, Karol.

    Dang it!

    Well? What's the thread?
  14. Ok, four hours now... Silence of the Lambs Jodie Foster Sommersby
  15. It came from Wierwille. He did not repudiate it. It was his false doctrine.
  16. I think "absent Christ" is probably the best example of this. In some ways, Christ is absent. "We are ambassadors for Christ." That means he's not here. "He's coming back!" That means he's not here. But the absence of Christ in TWI, the disregard for him as lord and head of the body, was a bit much (understatement). And Mark is right; it did enable the MOG worship that was prevalent in TWI.
  17. Let me retract that: if anyone knows for a fact what the production costs are for a PFAL book v. the selling price, please let us know. I don't trust Mike to tell the truth on this, and I don't have firsthand knowledge on this. So if you do, settle this. If no one comes forward I'll consider it moot.
  18. Nonsense. Book production does not cost what was charged for those books. You're talking to a former JW. If you want to see people who sell books at cost, no profit, look at them. You'll see that TWI made quite a sum on its "non-marketplace" books.
  19. It wasn't in the marketplace? Hey everyone, raise your hand if TWI gave you free copies of all the books? Raise your hand if ALL you paid was production cost: no profit to TWI. Yeah, it wasn't in the marketplace. Pleeease.
  20. I waited an hour and a half before answering the last one!
  21. I'm glad to hear the cat got better for at least a little while. My mom once had a daschund(sp?) who lost the use of her hind legs. We were told she would not walk again, and we got the cutest little "wheelchair" for her (she walked with her front legs and wheeled herself along). We gave her Alpo and tap water, and in six months she was walking again. Which proves, I suppose, that Alpo and tap water is an incredible combination and must be fed to all dogs and possibly humans immediately. When we do it, people like Chris Reeve will walk again! Judge for yourself.
