  1. Things didn't go as planned. She defibbed during the night - blood pressure went to 70 / 48. Her blood went down to 1.1 which is bad. They changed her meds and she had a reaction to them. She is better tonight but they still, naturally kept her today. Trusting they get it worked out and she can come home tomorrow so prayers still needed. Thanks.

  2. Thanks for all your prayers. There was a total turn-around with my mom and they don't have to do stints or further surgery. She is ecstatic. I bring her home tomorrow. She just got real peaceful yesterday and so did I and all went well. Thanks so much. Prayers are miracle workers.

  4. I am at a friend's using their computer. Went to the heart doctors with my mom this afternoon and they are admitting her to the hospital tomorrow. They want to monitor her before they do the cerebrial angeogram Friday morning to make sure her blood isn't too thick or thin since she is off the cumiden (sp). After the test they will be admitting her to a hospital in Pittsburgh PA where she will have to have a stint put in. They cannot do a bypass as her heart is down to 20% and weak and she wouldn't live through a bypass. They are hoping her heart will allow her to live thru the stint procedure but the prognosis isn't good. Thanks for prayers. She is convinced she is going to die. :(

  5. I'm trying to help a friend with their computer. They had dowloaded the annoying bonzi monkey. After uninstalling the annoying little bugger, the sound and voice still remain. When the sound pops up (at any time and never the same time) it gives error messages like kernal such-and-such and others. Any idea how to get rid of the last of this annoying monkey?? Thanks

  6. I had RumRunner post an update for me earlier and appreciate his doing so. I don't have much internet access at this time. I am at my mom's and have been for the past week due to her having health issues. She had tests done last week and today the doctor is scheduling her for a cerebral angiogram this Friday morning. Only 25% of her heart works and her heart doctor told her the muscle is getting weak but the valve is working fine. She has a 83% blockage in her right cartroid artery and a 73% in the left one. They are doing this test Friday due to that. She is on coumadin also and sometimes it makes her blood as thin as water. (She has a cat she had declawed as if she scratched her she would bleed to death). Please, please, please keep her in your prayers. Not sure if her heart will take this Friday and she is scared to death which is natural. I'm usually the strong one in the family but this also has me freaked. So....thanks SOOO much for any and all prayers. When I have internet access, I will keep you updated. Thanks again.

  7. Prayers for my mom would be appreciated. She is under a lot of stress and only 25% of her heart muscle works. She is going through a period of depression and the doctor said she is ready for a breakdown. I have been traveling with my husband (still am) and we are going to see if I can be dropped off where she lives to spend some time with her and help her. I don't have internet access while traveling but when I pray, I pray for prayer requests in here that even though I can't read them, God knows them so I lift the site. Thanks for your prayers.

  8. I once did a long indept paper on friends vs. acquatintances... You can know someone 20 years and when the chips are down they don't stick by you.. An "actual" friend will stick by you no matter what you are going thru or what they are going through. They WILL be there for you NO matter what. It's kind of interesting to see when you are in a position to have a "need" or see someone that has a "need"..how you react. Or a position where someone tells you a secret.....and how you react. "Friendship" can be a very sacred thing...or miss-used greatly. What are your thoughts? ..............."ME? I would stick to them like a brother if they were honest." YOU? Or your thoughts

  9. Agree with supply and demand....but there are times that you don't need to pay for it. People still make money when pets are required to go to a vet for a condition.....but there are resources now that people can get answers and not have to spend that money (especially when they don't have it and love their pet) :)

  10. I don't think it can be salvaged NOW. I just "scanned" this post....sorry....so if my response is inappropriate just ignore it. I think back in the late 60's and early 70's it was extremely valuable to people. I think people were searching---drugs, alcohol, freedom, God. I think it was very very very valuable back then. But it changed over time and years. What it even was in the mid-80's wasn't close to what it was in the early 70's....like two different places, two different houses so you can't compare. I can understand, actually, kids that "grew up" there....least if they grew up in the late 60's and 70's that would want that "feeling" back....but, no, they won't be able to restore it no matter how hard they try. They might "miss" that era, but that era is gone forever. They won't be able to re-create it, what I think (personally) is why they would want to "salvage" it. You have a time period in your life where it's uforic (sp)....and of course we would all like to live in that fantasy, but reality in the world doesn't make it so. So, I can see how they would want to "salvage" that feeling, memory; but it will never happen and they can't re-create it. It's gone.....as is the 70's.

  11. I'm here too :biglaugh: . NIce to see ya'll....Lifted :) , Rum, Kansas, Marx, etc., etc. :biglaugh: . I'm still around....just dodge the bullets like probably a lot of ya :biglaugh: . I'll try to keep the thread going too :) . Overall, from knowing MANY Corps from 2 - 13, I think the 8th had more shi$ together then the others...but, of course, no prejudice there or anything...LOL.

  12. I, too, know how you feel. I grew up poor and my goal was to "get out of that area of my life." However, my house is also needing much, much, much needed repair and I have 3 dogs and a cat. The one dog is like 15 years old and the cat is 10. When both were sick (different times), I went to this web site. This site has people that raise animals and actual vets that will respond to you. If you explain what's going on with your pet, they will tell you what you can do personally to help it or if it's a situation where you actually need to take it to a vet. I would think it is worth checking out because it might be something you can simply medicate at home.

Hope it helps! They helped on both mine and I never had to take them to the vet.

  13. One of the fun times for me while being involved with TWI was sitting on the porch at Don's (who owned the gas station in town). His house was right next to the station. His son, Denny, and my roomie, DeeAnn and I used to sit on the swing on that porch and drink beer and yell "WAYER" to cars that went buy with a bumper sticker on them or cars we recognized. (DeeAnn and I were both on staff at that time too). VP would get calls at 2 and 3 a.m. about us. He called us into his office once at 2:30 a.m. from yet another phone call & asked what we thought we were doing. Wittnessing, of course, was our answer as we laughed our butts off. He just chuckled & sent us on our way. That is just "one" of the fun memories I have.
