  1. What does CIAU stand for or mean when someone is signing off? Thanks Cowgirl
  2. Whewwwwwwwww, I'm back! I didn't have the kids for the weekend so I wanted to take a day trip just by myself, go exploring and see what kind of trouble I could get into. I picked a spot on Lake Huron, and by the way anybody who hasn't seen it, it's humongus, it looks like an ocean!! The drive up there was absolutely gorgeous, lots of rolling hills, farms, way out in the country, my favourite type of landscape ! I get to this little tourist town called Bayfield, here are some pictures of where I was..................... I went to their two art galleries to see if they would be interested in carrying my papier mache sculptures in their store, sure enough they were, but here's the best part, the second art gallery I went in to, the guy that owned the store said that they have been looking for someone who does papier mache sculptures so they could carry them in BOTH their stores, one in Bayfield and the other one in London which is a huge city! So we exchanged phone numbers and we meet again in two weeks, I really believe this is my "ticket in" so to speak !! I was totally beside myself !! Then I went off to do some exploring, I hit the marina first and tons of people were out getting their boats ready for the upcoming season, Lots of fishermen were out, I talked with a few and to my surprize they were catching some kind of salmon and trout. It was so pictureseque!! Then I hit the beaches, what an awesome place to go beachcombing not the type you'd go sunbathing, I love to do that kind of stuff, collecting rocks and shells and driftwood. Heck I remember growing up when ever we'd hit the beaches we'd look for polished glass that the waves had smoothed over in time, green, white and brown were the most popular colors. if you ever found a blue piece you had scored!! After I gathered up all my little treasures I moved on down the highway, followed this old dirt road and found another part of the beach and the coolest thing was, there was absolutely no one as far as the eye could see, so I had the whole beach to myself, I brought my chair and books down to read in total silence, I loved it !! Then I did some more beachcombing and found the neatest pieces of driftwood that if you really study then you can see different faces in them (don't worry I didn't see the face of "Mary" ) I found one huge piece that looks just like a widemouth fish, so I'm going to paint these different pieces up to make them look more like the animal faces I could see in them. I had to climb up 93 steps with all this driftwood to get back up to my vehicle, well I thought i was going to keel over, but I was determined to take these pieces home with me no matter how big they were. When I got to the top of the steps I found a five dollar bill laying on the ground!! It was just an incredible day with lots of really neat things that I got to see and find. Then I rode of into the sunset!! Cowgirl
  3. No I don't have a song this time, and I didn't win the lottery, but to me this was so much better, what an incredible day ! I'll be back in just a bit to share it, I have to slow down a bit and collect my thoughts, when I get excited, it wears me out !! Cowgirl

  6. Hi Act2 !! This is so AWESOME, that you mentioned the "Marshall Tucker Band" There was a song that I used to love listening to when I was growing up and for the life of me I couldn't remember the title or who did it, and there it was under the Marshall Tucker Band!! This is too COOL!! The song is called "24 hrs At A Time" I'm just heading out for a run right now, I'll share with you why this particular song meant so much to me way back when and I'll post it also so you can give a listen !! This is fanastic, thanks for mentioning the band !!!!!! Cowgirl
  7. Act2, Here's a few by Rod Stewart although the 2nd one was not orginally done by him, it still sounds pretty good !! AAAAAAAAND if I'm not mistaken I think I can hear a mandolin being played throughout different parts. of the songs. Bluzeman, you have an ear for music, correct me if I'm wrong about the mandolin thing !! HERE HERE Cowgirl
  8. Act2, Here are two Reo Songs for your listening pleasure!! Here Here

  10. Bluzeman, I'll have to agree with you on that one, I really love that sound of "End of the Innocence" with Bonnie Raitt performing in it, real nice mellow sound to that song ! Moony and ChattyKathy, I know I've already posted these two songs in the past but since we're kinda of on the topic of the Eagles, I've got to post them one more time and as always, they never fail to take my breath away, so here goes !!! Mountain Bikes

I want to incorporate some mountainbiking with my running, you know, crosstraining, so I've been looking around alittle bit for a decent mountainbike. It doesn't matter to me if it's a guy's or girls bike, bar or no bar, I'd like the frame to be lightweight in case I need to carry it over something but yet strong enough to stand up to some abuse cause some of the trails that I run on are pretty rugged. And I don't want to go over $400. Any ideas? Thanks Cowgirl
  12. Sushi, just want to say thanks !! :) Cowgirl
  13. I loved this song when I first heard it and still after all these years I am still drawn to it, I have 3 versions of it but I can only seem to locate two of them right now........... HERE HERE
  14. Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !! Bluzeman and Sudo, you're not playing fair, uh uh uh ! Can't you let the songs play a little bit longer before you cut it off, I just need to hear a few extra notes, then I'm sure I'll be able to guess it. Puleeeeeeeze !! :)
  15. Mr Strange.......................yeah well that doesn't count !!
  16. Hey Sudo, can't you let it play a little longer, then I might be able to figure it out, [ the tune that is) Hey I saw the same moon you were looking at, when I saw the cresent moon last month, it was similiar to what I saw tonight but it had the coolest ring around it, almost made me think of some kind of eclipse was happening. It was pretty neat!!
  17. ChattyKathy, if you ever happen to venture up this way, I could to take you on some of the most breathtaking trails I have ever been on, we're not talking groomed trails but the ones that are just left to grow wild and they go for miles and miles, there is one in particular that is all lined with apple trees, with weeping willow trees hovering over the river that runs along side of the trail. Whenever I go there to run or just hang out I feel like I've come across a bit of paradise, I just love it !! So for all you nostalgia fans out there here is a real gem, it's not that old but it sure puts a smile on my face.............. HERE
  18. ChattyKathy, You got it, it was the Cowgirl you saw, I was spying on y'all !!! Just gorgeous outside today and I hear the running trails calling my name so before I head out for a run here's two songs from a very popular artist, had quite a few hits and these are two of my favourites amongst others that he has done. HERE Here :)
  19. Dot, I thought long and hard about what you asked and I can only come up with one at this moment..... "Wild One" They said change your clothes She said no I won't They said comb your hair She said some kids don't And her parents dreams went up in smoke They said you can't leave She said yes I will They said don't see him She said his name is Bill She's on a roll and it's all uphill She's a wild one With an angel's face She's a woman-child In a state of grace When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee He said you can be anything you want to be She's a wild one Runnin' free She loves Rock and Roll They said it's Satan's tongue She thinks they're too old They think she's too young And the battle lines are clearly drawn She's a wild one With an angel's face She's a woman-child In a state of grace When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee He said you can be anything you want to be She's a wild one Runnin' free She has future plans and dreams at night When they tell her life is hard she says that's alright She's a wild one With an angel's face She's a woman-child In a state of grace When she was 3 years old on her daddy's knee He said you can be anything you want to be She's a wild one Runnin' free HERE
