  1. Dishonesty, I would have to say is at the top of my list. People who like to gossip and people who like to play the victim card especially when they know there is help out there but they refuse to get it, are the other biggies....... Cowgirl
  2. Unexpected encounters?? Ohhhh yeah!! HUMAN BEINGS !!! I'm out in the woods everyday where I do my running, months will go by and I never come across a single soul, that's one of the reasons I run there is for the solitude, and all of a sudden I come around a corner or the top of a hill and there walking, is a person!! LOL, in my mind I go what the heck are you doing on this trail, like it belongs to me and you're in my space !! Cowgirl
  3. Hi Cynic !! Thanks for doing that, I really appreciate it :) It turned out, I got his last name and everything was what he had told me, I checked it all out and he has been honest with me. "Your potiental man" lol!! He's just real interesting to chat with and we both really appreciate art. Prayingfordaylight, thanks for the great advice ! I've also read the book you mentioned, I enjoyed it and found it to be pretty practical. Cowgirl
  4. Brother Speed, I haven't tried it yet, but why does it have to be a "yellow" highlighter, I have one in pink, does the colour matter? Cowgirl
  5. Hey there smarty pants!!! You're pushing it !!! Ohhhhhh would I ever like to comment but I'll refrain from doing so ~~~~ Cowgirl
  6. Paw, I did that on LimeWire and and came up with just the Eagles and Little Texas. Could you do me a favor, if you have some time, whenever you go on iTunes can you just copy down the names of the bands that do it and then post it for me? Come to think of it, I think I've asked this question before about other bands playing that song, but can't even remember what thread it's on, oh well!! Thanks Cowgirl Paw I got it figured out and I got some more names to look up, so thanks for the suggestion!
  7. I would like to know if anyone here has heard the song "Peaceful Easy Feelin" song by anyone else besides the Eagles and Little Texas, something I could download? Also those kits you can buy to repair your somewhat destroyed CD's, do they work pretty good? I'm a little brutal on my CD's, don't always put them back in there cases, and I've licked a few and wiped them on whatever was available at the time (I know it's gross!) some of them are not in the best condition, so if at all possible I would like to hear what's on those Cd's if those repair kits work. Thanks Cowgirl
  8. Linda, 750 lbs of tomatoes!!! That is alot, LOLOL!! Gives me an idea, they can always change the location of the "weenie roast" up to my neck of the woods, I'd aleast have enough tomatoes to go around!! CHAS, this is just for you, after you've finished growing your tomato plants, in my opinion the best way to savor the taste of homegrown tomatoes! 1 ripe homegrown tomato 2 slices bread, preferably white farm or peasant 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise Salt and pepper (optional) Slice the tomato thickly - about as thick as a slice of bread. Spread the bread with mayonnaise. Place the tomato on one slice. Sprinkle with salt and a little pepper, if you like. Top with the other slice of bread. Cut the sandwich in half. Go outside and sit under a willow. Makes 1 sandwich.

  10. Ron, that looks like a great time, too bad it wasn't closer !! But thanks anyways, are you going to be attending any of them? Cowgirl
  11. Just wanted to let you know that everything checks out, He gave me his last name and I checked him out on the net! He is quite the artist, he even has some of his art work published on postage stamps. One of the awards he won was down in the US. It was the 1st time in contest history for an artist outside the US to win the award ! He has sent me quite a few of his paintings and they sure are beautiful! And I know, there's lots more to know about him, so like I said I'm in no hurry whatsoever. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks again for all your tips! Cowgirl Here is a sample of some of his stuff.....
  12. Shellon and Watered Garden, LOL!!! You two are hilarious !!!! Ca dreaming, unfortunately those plants never made it but I went ahead and planted a pile more in my vegtable garden (as if i need more), you know what it is, I have this thing for growing stuff, I really enjoy it, so I don't care how much I end up with, I'll just share the harvest with my friends and some neighbors! These are my absolute favourite, cherry tomatoes, when they're ripe, early in the morning I go right out to my garden and eat them right off the vine for breakfast !!
  13. Hi there CoolWaters :) Thanks so much for showing that you care and I didn't take your message as you being judgemental at all. Maybe I came across as trying to defend my position too strong and I don't mean to. I want to share something with you, just a few days ago I got into an argument with someone because he didn't want me going up north on a weekend to hear someone play the guitar so he ended up telling me, "You know what you're problem is, you just don't want anyone to care about you or showing that they care" I thought about it afterwards and it's not that I don't want someone to care about me, it's just that I have this control issue. I came from a very controling and V.A. marriage. I am finally at the point in my life, I love my independence I can come and go as I want, I don't have to answer to anyone and if I never settle down I'm ok with that. I guess in a way you could say I'm sowing my wild oats. So when someone starts saying "You should or you shouldn't, or you need to do such and such, right away I start thinking they are trying to control me and I want out, don't try and cage me in, so to speak, but when I think it through, I realize they are saying it because they care, just like you and I really appreciate that, CoolWaters. Thanks again, Cowgirl
  14. I appreciate all the advice, but no need to worry, I am not anywhere involved with this guy and I am in no hurry to meet him, we're just talking on MSN and the e-mail he has of mine is an alias, he has no more info on me at all. I do enjoy the online dating sites and there are alot of advantages to it which I won't get into, heck you could meet a guy in person and he could still feed you a line so you are taking a risk both ways either online or meeting someone in your community or wherever. Same kind of thing as on that "Trust thread" To be totally honest I have met quite a few wonderful people with the online dating and they have turned out to be pretty decent but they weren't quite what I was looking for or vice versa and so we move on, but I'm not here to convince you of the on-line dating thing. In regards to his last name, all he said was, he wasn't ready to give it to me yet and that's fine! I am not computer savy, I know how to do the image thing but how do you search someone's e-mail on google, I've never done it before? Thanks Cowgirl
  15. Hi Garth !, That's what I thought, if he's well known, what would be the problem in knowing his last name and yes he did give me his e-mail but that doesn't help out, he could have a zillion e-mail addresses! And yes I am a bit leery ! MCarroll, Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it! Cowgirl
  16. I've been talking to an "artist" on one of the dating sites, apparently he says he is pretty well known throughout the States and Canada and even won awards down in the US of A . He's a painter, so he says, and he has sent me pictures of some beautiful wildlife he says he has painted. However I've asked him for his last name so I could look him up on the internet and check out his work, but he says he doesn't want to give me his last name quite yet, I asked him if he had a website and he said he's working on one. I asked him, "How do I know you're not an imposter and you're not just sending these pictures out to try to impress me?!" If his paintings are legit, they sure look familiar. My question is, with just the pictures alone is there anyway I can find out who the artist is on the internet and get some names to these paintings? I can even post the pictures up here if someone can find out for me. Thanks Cowgirl

    News Question

David, you're a real sweetie!! Thanks for that site, it's great, I'm going to search around and see if I can hear a sample of each of their music!! Hey what's the difference between folk music and bluegrass music? I've been invited to London, in July, about 40 minutes from here, to go to a folk festival, and I'm sure I will hear lots of mandolin! Cowgirl

    News Question

I was looking for the "Political Forum" but can't seem to locate it anywhere, anyone know what happened to it?? This might sound like a dumb question but here goes........I haven't watched TV in weeks so I really don't have a clue as to what is going on in the world, I read something about North Korea on a different thread but couldn't quite make heads or tails about it, can someone fill me in, what's happening there? Thanks Cowgirl
  20. I swear I must live pretty close to what I would consider "paradise" I went for a run on a trail this hot summer afternoon, one that I found this spring, when you get about a mile in there is this really secluded creek that runs right along side of the trail for about half a mile, it's gorgeous in there, all decidous trees and very lush and dense, lots of willows along the creek! And it's not a groomed trail, it's right out in the bush, so far I have only met one person on it. It's got all these twists and turns, and ups and downs, so it's quite the workout if you run it a few times. Well today was awesome, I ran it twice and got caught in a thundershower, at one end of it where you come out there is this massive cornfield, so I just ran out into the middle of it and stood there and got completely soaked !! On the way back as I passed the creek, all my senses when out the window so to speak, slipped my clothes off and went for a skinny dip, it was absolutely exhilerating!!! I thought to myself, I have it so good here, how many places are there today where you can go do something like that, that's totally untouched or undisturbed ( absolutely gorgeous in there) and hardly anyone knows about?? It looks just like this picture only not as wide across.......................
  21. Amazing grace, the song is "Fireflies" by Faith Hill I love Bagpipes, I must say that's pretty incredible! I'll share a little incident with you that's kinda similiar about the fireflies. I was out on a run at sunset, in the woods, I was quite aways in, I think 2 and half miles, it was getting dark and I tripped over some root and dropped my key remote on the ground. I searched and searched for that thing and couldn't find it anywhere, found it the next day, (had to get another ride home) it was under some bush, by the time I stopped looking for it, it was dark and I was still 2 and half miles in the middle of the forest, I start running back, but honest to god, I could barely pick out the trail, so I prayed about me getting out of there safely and within about 3 minutes as I was running I could see all these small lights , hundreds of them lining each side of the trail, I couldn't believe it, it was fireflies and because there were so many of them I could pick out the trail and make it out of there safely, there's more to the story but i just wanted to share about the firefly incident. Ron, what in tarnation are "chiggers?" Do any of you guys get (not sure of the spelling) secadas ? Supposedly they rub their legs together to make this incredible sound, almost like a sizzling or electricity sound kinda like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, oh forget it, I can't make the sound but you would definitely know it if you heard it :) Cowgirl
