  1. Anyone still in TWI that lurks here consider us who are not part of TWI Unbelievers? It was early 1996, my wife who was in the 14th corps received an invitation to a 14th corps reunion. It was being run by those who were out of TWI but were in the 14th corps. She was excited about this and started thinking about her best friend from the corps, and wondered if this person M.V. was in or out if TWI, since M.V. stopped communicating with my wife T. after we left in 1988. So my wife knowing that M.V. had relatives in a certain town in California, she called information got a number that turned out to be a cousin, my wife left a message. a few weeks later I got a phone call from M.V. my wife was not home, so I tried talking with her former best friend. M.V. was really offensive saying what do we want, and stop bothering her relatives, I tried to be loving and told her T. had missed her about how God was working in our lives, about our child and about the reunion. M.V. said something like she would not have anything to with us since she would not be Unequally Yoked with Unbelievers! For the record I believe in God, His son Jesus Christ and I believe the Bible as it was originally written to be Gods word. I'm not an unbeliever! God has done some wonderful things in my life since leaving TWI. How bout my fellow GS'ers, any stories to share?
  2. Mj412, Of course, your outta da cult of TWI, thats cause for celebration in my book, so yeah I'd toast to that and I'll buy the soda.
  3. Mj412, I'm so sorry, though it did free you from the bondage of TWI, so I'm glad for that. :)--> And now your here basking in your freedom from that cult, hanging with us at the Cafe. Can I buy you a soda, then we can toast to that freedom!!! God bless ya.
  4. Happy Birthday Wacky, my old and dear friend from the old twig days in Methuen Ma. Hope you have a wonderful day. I Love ya!!!
  5. Rafael said; "And my all time favorite Donna M quote: 'I want to thank God for making Craig Martindale the spiritual head of this ministry'" That statement should have drawn a hugh red flag to anyone in TWI, as it did for Rafael, Jesus is the spiritual head of all Christians!!!
  6. Okay MJ412, You've got me curious. What was the phone call about, if you don't mind sharing?
  7. For me it was a series of things. 1986: Pop came out I started to have doubts. 1986: John Schoenheit was fired for writing a paper on Adultry being a sin. 1987: Ralph D. resigned. 1987: Jal et al. were fired for writing their paper questioning things. 1988: Sue P. Ralph and Jal shared about erronious doctrines of TWI and corruption. 1988: a group of us, about 10 people got together to research what Jal shared. We concluded that several TWI doctrines were biblically erronious. How about Ya'll? What was it that got you make the decision to leave? 8. Hi Shellon You wrote; "Some wives stay with their husbands because if they leave, they may never see their children again. Some scoff at this, but is it worth taking the risk?" Please forgive me if I offended you, it was not indended to be scoffed at or taken lightly. Maybe that was a bad example, but I know of a woman who takes abuse and I was using this example as possibly the same state of mind some TWI-2 folks have for staying. I would never scoff at folks in abusive situations, rather I pray for them, whether they are in abusive relationships such as a bad marriage or TWI. Simpleton if the welcome was for me, thanks. I'm actually an old poster going back to 1999 with Waydale and the first GS. It's been about a year since I last posted here. God bless ya'll.
  9. Freshair99, I've also wondered why anyone would want to stay with an abusive cult like TWI-2. based on what I've read here at GS. But why do wives stay with husbands that physically and emotionally abuse them? It's puzzling to say the least! My best guesses are that some stay because of family and friends still in. Others because of fear of leaving, although that makes no good sense to me. While others may be staying because of a sense of belonging to something they may think is of God. What got me to leave was that someone I trusted showed me where several doctrines we were taught by TWI were erroneous. Plus I was told about all the adultry going on as well as other corrupt practices within TWI. There wasn't a website showing all the error and corruption at that time, if there was my guess is many more would have left much sooner had they known all this back then. So for these folks in TWI-2 I guess we should pray for them to see the truth and hopefully get free of this cult.
