BBQ Season

After the long months of cold and winter, we are finally coming up to summer and BBQ season.

Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking,

as it's the only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is some of danger involved.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ, the following chain of events are put into motion:

1) The woman buys the food.

2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes a dessert.

3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking

utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.

6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will

bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:

7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

8) The woman prepares the bread, side dishes, utensils, napkins, condiments and brings them to the table.

9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off."

And, seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

Forget the meat, I want to meet a woman that actually does something around the house.

Now that I have amde that statement I'm waiting for the flames.

Women please note that there are many men who do lots of things around the house. If you chose to blame men in general be prepared for men to strike back.

PS. I'm the one who does the cooking, cleaning and shopping. I'm trying for the life of myself to remember why I got married 26 years ago.

Flame away.

Can't flame, ex70's. Sorry, but I didn't do laundry for nearly eight years while I was married. :redface2: I didn't clean the bathrooms and I hardly did any vacuuming or other cleaning...we won't even talk about yard work and car maintenance....

I had it MADE in that department. My ex looked really good on paper. Granted he worked two days on - one day off and every other week-end was a 3 day week-end, so he had A LOT more time at home than I did. I also made more money and did pretty much all the cooking and kitchen cleaning. My biggest job was kissing his foot and "submitting" to him according to TWIt standards.

Sure wouldn't mind having someone else wash clothes and clean the house for me, though. ;) Just not with that kind of tradeoff.

No kidding! I do all kinds of things around the house... since I like it a 'certain way', things get done... and the kids all know how to pitch in too...

This is sad to hear... hubby will do things to, but after working 8-12 hours, it seems he's done far more than me... he does like to take over in the kitchen, and weekends he'll give me a break and make something for all of us.. getting the kids involved too...

What does your wife do ex70's?

I feel bad for you... :(
