McF@dden huh? Hard a#$ jerk. He was our leader in Charlotte NC. We could never do anything right and ended up leaving the corps while under his leadership. Well my ex left and when he did Vince told me to leave him. I thought that was weird and told him I couldn't break one commitment to keep another. So, since I wouldn't leave him my corps status changed too.
I will say of all the leaders I had Vince was the only one who allowed me to use my singing talent and allow me to perform for the believers. Until then and afterward I wasn't "spritually fit" enough to do that.
But Vince f$@king around on Brenda? That is a shock to me! Brenda is actually a very sweet person and very beautiful.
I'm not too keen on Vince mC4A**3n being accused of anything like that. He might be slow in the uptake for still being with the Way, but I would never put him in that category <_<
I've been looking to see if I can find anything online that documents an arrest but haven't so far. I did find this that I'd never seen before. You have to scroll down to #6, but it's definitely interesting information: Geer & TWI
i do know when the gutmore guy was busy destroying my friend's life, he called me from across the ocean to tell little old me personally what BIG devil spirits my friend was "packing" (to put it in his words)
perhaps to shut me up because i kept bugging veepee, finnegan and martindale about it

Many of the originals were from his witness at Woodstock , and having no home he invited them all to the farm . Many of which came there, and got the whole free love thing going i guess. Then when he had drugies, or prostitutes, well , guess he could'nt preach on it if he did'nt know everything about it, and he never stopped researching....
I sat there one night while Lou Guigou , one of the Martindale family inlaws , fight with his wife almost to violence , over that fact that she had a peice of furniture that was too valuable/ important to sell and sent the money to Craig Martindale for the staunching of their funds. In nut case rage he ranted, "nothing is more important than the Man of god and his being provided for!!" To the point people wer going to leave the meeting so they could get violent in peace. and his wife had just got to the point of telling him off, and saying there was no argument , No! oh then it went off!! he would'nt be told NO when he was reprooving her into doing his intention. Finally two of us told him either back off it, or we were cancelling the meeting, just insensed that some thing was not going to be converted to cash and sent to headquarters.
Belle, that article you brought sounds so familiar and even though some of the things were benign within themselves they seem so fitting when you read it that context from the outside looking in. Many of those things were acceptable to us at some level to have been able to continue.
And neither of the men named would be on a list I compiled FWIW.

and i saw the appalling cruel detestable behavior of that person toward my friends, toward his wife, toward me, and veeppe just cried and cried about what a great man he was
One thing I have learned here over the number of years visiting these forums, is that there is some crazy sh!+ that has gone on in twi both on unique local levels and bigger higher up local and corps levels. One of the craziest things that I heard here was on the thread on child abuse in twi.
There was a poster, "waysurvivor", that had a story with very intimate details and things that, to me, sounded completely made up if not completely insane. This person had some horrible things happen to her at Gunnison and perhaps other locals and said things about being in a box with spiders and being chased by corps guys in black robes and other things that didn't fit into my twi childhood POV. I basically told her I was sorry for whatever happened and that I thought the stuff about the way she was lying.
Well, it turned out there were things that happened in the early corps involving black robes and even Weirwille acting as the "Grand Wizard."
Check out the thread. It is a big one. WS's post is on the 12th page with mine and many other skeptical posters right after it. The next page (13) about 2/3 of the way down is TheEvan's post about the black robe initiation thing, then others follow from there.
Anyways, since then I try to hold back and see if what a poster says pans out and is corroberated or I try to ask questions until it makes sence or is confirmed.

I'm more inclined to believe this as similar things happened to me. my ex-husband seems to have been put under a lot of pressure at times, which he turned on me if I disagreed with what was coming down through the tree. it was the worst when he had a critical, controlling FC breathing down his neck over ever little thing in our lives. the FC told stories about vpw that made him sound like he was psychotic, but in the FC's mind it was legit for the MOG to act like that and mistreat everyone around him if they ....ed him off.
reminds me of another saying I heard in TWI "I've been reproved by the best" meaning you got your "face melted" - I think that was LCM's term.
anyway, where was I in all of this? trying to be the good wife and believer and do what I was told and avoid calling attention to myself at all costs.

Belle, that article you brought sounds so familiar and even though some of the things were benign within themselves they seem so fitting when you read it that context from the outside looking in. Many of those things were acceptable to us at some level to have been able to continue.
And neither of the men named would be on a list I compiled FWIW.
