Never heard of hunting deer with a pistol. Guess it takes a real Arkansas mountain man to be able to do that. Hear Davey Crockett killed a bear with his bare hands. You mountain men are something else - and it's real good.

Venison stew sounds delightful, just please don't tell the princess it's Bambi til after she's eaten it.

I have some venison in my freezer that I'll be fixing swiss steak in the slow cooker with. I never get caught

feeding the princess venison, as I slow cook it and never say a word about what meat it was.

Looks great and after all, t'is the season...

Say what you want, but as pro-2nd Amendment as I am, I've never hunted...I dunno, shooting a animal...BUT, if the only thing between me & starvation is Bambi, lock & load.
