VPW didn't like the parts against adultery. Hence all his convoluted rationalizations for why sex with women he wasn't married to was renewed mind thinking.
yes "Thou should not commit adultery" he was not able to keep alone with others like this
nor did he like this one Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

he wanted more than one woman in his life and there was alot of blame
1 Pet 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
he did not respect his wife he ran after other woman
nor did he like the part that teaches a wife to be subject to her own husban
yes he did not agree with the bible here but we all sin in some areas but he should of never been a elder in the Way cult
