Happy Groundhog Day. He saw his shadow.. again.

I've always wondered what would happen if it was so cold, that the handler would come at six in the morning, chip away several layers of ice, and find Phil's stiff body frozen to what looks like a layer of permafrost.

Technically, he would not see his shadow on that particular Groundhog Day, would he?

I think Phil has an agent that got him a heated burrow with all the amenities. He spends winters in Florida with some squirrel babes climbing all over him, and flies up to do his little shadow routine once a year.

Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators,

Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.

After casting a weathered eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,

Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed:

"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.

Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
