Sixty years ago today, a young, auburn-haired man waited nervously for word of the struggles his young wife suffered to bear their child. Tended by a semi-competent doctor who had been called in from a luncheon meeting, after three days of labor, she gave birth to a 6 1/2 pound baby girl.

It was an unusually warm day in Indianapolis, 72 degrees with blue skies and sunshine.

So I was born to live my life up to now. It's been a rich and wonderful life so far, ups and downs, laughter and joy and tears and pain. I wouldn't have missed it for anything!

Thank you for being part of it, GSers. Love ya.
