I haven't seen the movie, yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I remember reading the Isaac Asimov stories (about Adam Link?) when I was a teen-ager back in the '60s.
I know from the previews running on TV that it's going to be more like "Magnus, Robot Fighter" than like the Asimov stories. But that's cool! I liked Magnus, too!
I finally saw it last night. I enjoyed the movie, despite the bad, bad, bad, movie physics. Smith was good, I thought (he hasn't been doing the "Fresh Prince" thing for years IMHO -->)
They tagged it "I, Robot" to cash in on Asimov, yet the movie had little to do with the book, which is a collection of short stories. The connections were several characters who are nothing like the characters of the same name in the books, and of course, The Three Laws.
Anyone who has read the later Asimov Robot/Foundation fusion novels would recognize Daneel Olivaw's "Zeroth Law" articulated by "Viki": A robot must protect humanity, even if some humans are hurt.
This was a very enjoyable movie. Will Smith did a super job. In the credits it said something like "suggested by Issac Asmiov". The computer graphics were outstanding and the plot was intriguing. :)-->
