I should add also that the Seattle Mariners are playing some great baseball too. They defeated the Detroit Tigers yesterday (in 15 innings) to advance to the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays. To be fair, the team with the best record in baseball this year, the Milwaukie Brewers, are still in the playoffs and need a win over the Chicago Cubs to advance to the NLCS against the Dodgers. This should keep anyone up to date who is interested.

The Torah to Revelation: The Mystery: The Rapture
revvel replied to revvel's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
The Last Nail in the “Signless” Nonsense Coffin. 1. How did Christ connect the symbol of a “thief” with end times? 2. How does this symbol of a “thief” apply to both the second coming of Christ to Israel (Rev. 16), and the revelation Christ gave to Paul about the Rapture (1 Thess. 5)? End Times: Symbol of a Thief/Illustration of Opposites: Fate & Destiny Christ/Symbol of a Thief: Israel Revelation 16:15, 16 “Look, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments on, lest he walk naked and his shame be exposed.” They gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Armageddon. Matthew 24:27, 42-44 "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.… Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord will come. But know this, that if the owner of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for in an hour when you least expect, the Son of Man is coming.” As lightning, Christ descends to Israel—with celestial signs and the sun & moon black. And—as a thief—Christ suddenly comes upon the unsuspecting Foolish Virgins (Matthew 25) who didn’t watch, and in addition, Christ comes upon the unsuspecting ungodly army of the Antichrist at Armageddon (Rev. 19:11-21)—and they all realize the consequences (just as an unsuspecting homeowner would suffer consequences of a thief). This is their fate. In contrast, for the Wise Virgins who watched, the result is the opposite: “the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet” (Matt. 25:10). Thus, Christ the Deliverer (Rom. 11:25-27) brings salvation for Israel via deliverance in battle (just like in the days of King David), and He brings atonement for the house of Jacob on the day of the Atonement, and He ushers the wise into the Millennial Kingdom/Wedding Banquet. This is their destiny. "Thief" = "Signless"? Modern-day biblical tragedy. With the “signless” nonsense out of the end-times equation… Apply Christ’s use of a “thief” to His revelation to Paul on the mystery for the Church. The Day of the Lord/Symbol of a Thief: 1 Thessalonians 5 "Concerning the times and the seasons [timing], brothers, you have no need that I write to you. For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. When they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden [timing] destruction will come upon them as labor upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape.” This is their fate. ... "But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all the sons of light and the sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep as others do. But let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we should live together with Him. So comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, just as you are doing.” This is our destiny/saved from the wrath (Rom. 5:8, 9; 1 Thess. 1:10; 5:9) via the Rapture. The symbol of a thief has no relevance to “signless,” but rather, this symbol projects an illustration of opposites in the end times: the unsuspecting versus the opposite, sons of light/watched. 2 Peter 1:20, 21 “But know this first of all, that no prophecy of the Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation. For no prophecy at any time was produced by the will of man, but holy men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” To equate “thief” with “signless” is precisely what Peter warned against: the human mind projecting its imagination onto the Scriptures—creating a twisted interpretation that has no relevance to the divine truth presented in the passage. And this: Equating “thief” with “signless” creates spiritual blinders—blindsiding those who believe the “signless” dogma—leaving them unable to see the totality of the mystery Christ revealed from the Book of Acts to the Book of Revelation. That’s next. With the Last Nail in the “Signless” Nonsense Coffin, bury it. You are now free from the "signless" snare. Peace. revvel -
I don't recognize it.

hopefully one of our other players will know it. It's quite a familiar song, though you might not be associating a melody with the lyrics. George

The New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies are all out of this 2025 post season. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the odds on favorites to repeat as World Champions. Of those still in it, the Toronto Blue Jays along with the Dodgers are playing the best baseball right now. I usually follow the post season every year and somewhat get more interested in baseball each year after the all-star break.

(Peter Sellers once saw the original of " the Producers," by accident. He thought it was so funny, he took out an entire page ad and posted an unsolicited testimonial about how funny it was. This saved both the movie and Mel Brooks' budding career.) OK, moving on from here since it's been more than 3 days..... we linked in with Nathan Lane, so we can't link out with him. We can go with Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, Mel Brooks, Jon Lovitz, Will Ferrell, Michael Mc Kean, David Huddelston, Debra Monk, or John Barrowman- provided, of course, you know something else they did to link TO. (Mel Brooks voice acted in the movie, and appeared on camera very briefly at the end.) So, let's see. Barrowman I know mostly from a lot of TV appearances. Some of the others, I probably would have to look up to link, depending on my memory that moment (Huddleston, Monk.) So, I'll go Michael Mc Kean Clue Tim Curry He's been in a number of movies, where he appeared prominently. You should be able to link him fairly painlessly.

At this point, there's been multiple movies with certain names, so adding the year sometimes is important. There have been 3 different movies called "Batman"- in the 1960s with Adam West, in the 1980s with Michael Keaton, and a few years ago with Robert Pattinson. (Yes, all theatrical releases.) Some of them have nothing in common other than the same name. ("Running Scared" and "Running Scared" come to mind, and you may recall there was more than one "Inside Out" movie, one was a kid's animated movie, one was not. And so on. The 2nd " Producers" movie was, in effect, a remake. The original inspired a Broadway musical, and the new movie is based on the musical. It has a LOT of scenes that weren't in the original, characters who weren't in the original, musical numbers that weren't in the musical. For the most part, the actors in the remake are a lot more famous than the actors in the original. (Hans Liebkind's actor was good, but not so famous in the original, but in the remake, you'd recognize him in a second. Nobody remembers the name of the actress in the original who played Ulla, but in the remake, a famous actress played her.) I actually prefer the original, but Mrs Wolf prefers the remake, and both of us enjoy watching either version. In the original, Zero Mostel played Max Bialystock, but Nathan Lane played him in the remake, and that's the link I left up. If you like comedies, you should see either version when you can. I think the remake has a broader appeal among adults, for musical numbers and so on. I freely admit my favorite lines from either version are in the remake. (" Alvin!")

That's the wrong "The Producers." You're thinking of the one from 1967 (in which case one could go with Mostel, Gene Wilder, or Dick Shawn). I don't remember who was in the remake. George

That's the "go to" more times than I can count. Between George and you WordWolf, I've seen this posted countless times. The trouble is, I have never seen it, I think Zero Mostel(sp) or something like that was in it, but I wouldn't have a "go to" to link them. At least it wasn't a Super Hero movie I didn't know. Sorry, not to digress here. I'm just trying to get my turn in.
