  1. Ouch. I can appreciate that people can laugh at this, but it hits too close to home for me. This is my autistic son on a not good day, except that I would probably be holding him in a basket restraint to prevent him from damaging himself/me/someone else/property. He is too heavy now for me to carry him out. (((((Shellon))))) An understanding word or look can mean more than you could imagine. It's really the greatest thing you can do. These situations are so difficult for parents who experience them on a regular basis, and it can really help to be reminded that it has happened to all parents at one time or another. Tolerance is a beautiful thing.
  2. Time magazine had an article on this subject not long ago. Sorry, but I can't recall exactly when, but it was within the last few months. The thinking is changing, because it doesn't seem to be a problem in the long run (as previously thought), although there may be some short term adjustments to be made. I would recommend looking the article up at the library.
  3. The "By The Way" articles were all paid advertising, too.
  4. Hmmmm.... Maybe Jim should call the police to report that suspicious vehicle that's been loitering outside for hours....... :D-->
  5. Teresa, University of Life tapes are on eBay now: U of Life: I & II Thessalonians
  6. Let's see: I do remember one truth - lcm was having sex outside his marriage. It was a gross understatement, but it WAS true.
  7. Sudo, #7 is my favorite: fetuccini aldredo. YUM! But I kind prefer vino vidi vici myself.
  8. TWI taught that [only] the saved would get eternal life. The unsaved wouldn't get eternal life of any kind. They would basically cease to exist, not get eternal life in hell. I remember LCM teaching it, but couldn't state just when that was. Sometime in the mid-to-late 90's, I would estimate. Hhhmmmm--- got me thinking. Does ATDAN say anything about it? I don't remember it being that specific about it.
  9. WG, Try calling to see whether they will call in a refill for you, since it was working. Try to stay out of the sun for a while even after it seems cleared up. (Easier said than done, I know....) Oral steroids will raise your blood sugar. Hubby had to be on insulin until his course was done, and his is very mild. It was really interesting to see how his blood sugar correlated to the cortisone dose while he was weaned off. It was a very direct relationship. Best wishes, but nonameplease
  10. Probably shouldn't start this up again, but here's the new scoop on statins. "natural" treatments are not better than medicinal ones. After all, hemlock, arsenic, and tons of other toxins and poisons are natural. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA for safety and efficacy. Popular Science just had a really good article about "scientific" claims. Very interesting. The FDA can't pull supplements from the shelf unless they can prove harm, which means that a lot of people have to die first (ephedra is a good recent example). They are not monitored for accurate dosages or even for contaminants. Many random tests at independent labs have shown harmful levels of mercury and lead in over half of the supplements tested. Nowhere is it more true: caveat emptor Buyer beware). Statins are beneficial to many people. They are by prescription only so that risk:benefit ratio can be determined for each individual. Remember: if it has a biological effect, it will also have "side effects". Doesn't matter whether it's natural, synthetic, whatever. There is no magic bullet. Statins: Real Deal or Rx Cash Cow? 11. I did not intend to disparage this woman in any way. I wrote to her because she doesn't seem to know much about copyright law, and I didn't want to see her get slammed by TWI. Personally, I wish she could get rich off these CD's. She sure desrves it more than TWI. So I guess the answer to my question is : no, TWI has not released these materials on CD-ROM. I wanted to check to be sure before I made any statements. Tom, you can make copies of materials for your own personal use. Distribution is another story, even if it is not done for profit. I'm not entirely sure about the scenario you introduce...is there a lawyer in the house? call me nonameplease
  12. The person who was selling Way books on CD is now giving them away as a free gift with purchase of artwork. I tried to be nice and tell her that you can't distribute copyrighted material, but she insists that "I checked that out on the copyright site, and it stated that I can. Furthermore, I checked for their copyright on this CD-ROM, I didn't find any." Is The Way distributing their books on CD-ROM now? I haven't heard anything, but somehow I really doubt it. Just curious.
  13. I don't have that one anymore..... but I do have both J. E. Stiles' "The Gift of the Holy Spirit" and Bullinger's "The Giver and the Gift". That pretty much covers PFAL and more....
  14. Well, I ignored what they said until I bought a house to be used as a "Way Home." The "spiritual leader" made me get rid of whatever she knew was "bad", like Elton John (including a rare original release of Honky Chateau) Rolling Stones (another rare original release) Pretenders Stevie Nicks/ Fleetwood Mac She missed a lot of stuff because she was older and didn't know about a good portion of the collection. Then we go to the ROA and listen to AC/DC played in the big tent. ....ed me off, but too late to do much. Guess my evil possessed mind was the reason the Way Home didn't last...... sign me nonameplease

Ah, yes,...we used to call it the "What the World Refuses, Trenton Uses" Bridge. Okay, I didn't make it up, so don't go stoning me. I was born in NJ, ya know. Free, when were you in? I got in TWI in '79, at the ripe old age of 15. Were you around for the Way Home on Stuyvesand? Lois Pearson? The Bodolosky's? Seth, ya gotta do a road trip to Gino's Steaks in Philly for the best. Hamilton Township has lots of great Italian bakeries. YUM!
