  4. Thank you all ! Love the video Rainbow ! Rottie, yeah that was me the dancin fool ! Glad you still like the jacket ! Hey Excie Love you too and this is for you ! ! 'Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." And if I pass this way again, you can rest assured I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved Everything up to that point had been left unresolved. Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail, Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail, Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair. She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost I took too much for granted, got my signals crossed. Just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount But nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." I've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mournin' dove And old men with broken teeth stranded without love. Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn? "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes I bargained for salvation an' they gave me a lethal dose. I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine. If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born. "Come in," she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm." Copyright © 1974 Ram's Horn Music

  13. Interesting question because the whole word "cult" I struggle with at times. The main stream religion I was raised on seemed more like a cult in some ways than TWI for me. I do understand the cult aspect though of TWI when I was in it. I usually tell people when they ask how I ended up where I am now living that it's a long story and sometime I will tell them about it. !Most usually just smile and never ask again ! It depends on who is asking ! lol I wouldn't be living where I am now if I was not in TWI. There are many like me that eneded up where they are as a direct result of some TWI program. Some I do tell about my involvement in the Way and others I don't. I never aspired to much in the Way except for to fellowship with people who were genuine and who had real heart to the end that they really cared and showed that concern by example. The problem of course was all the other mandated crap that stifled that process. What I have noticed on how people answer whether they were in a cult or not is on how long they were in or how many of the programs they were involved in the structure too. Some are very bitter and some just have moved on and took what they thought was maybe good aspects of their experience. Me I don't what I am ? A little bitter sweet maybe ? Still carrying some baggage though ! How do you answer when asked Girl from Oz ? Your experience I know was much diffrent than those of us who were in TWI. I someday look forward to visiting an old friend in my hometown who was a Jehova Witness and this question can be one of many to add that we can discuss face to face. I look forward to it ! Gee did I answer the question Girl from Oz ? lol Thank you for the thought provoking thread here. :)-->
  14. Happy Birthday Hills ! Your family looks like they enjoyed the visit too with Dad to Yankee stadium !
  15. Mary got set off and decided to leave and yeah life will go on here at Greasespot no matter who comes and goes but will miss her perspective and found her quite the character ! :D--> Having met her and still will have contact, since she lives nearby and no she does not take her self as seriousLY as you may think. Yeah there's is drama and goodbye speeches but don't think you will ever get away from that here or anywhere else with the amount of people offering up opinions. Mary was and still is a friend and is unfortunate she left here on bad terms maybe with some. I do hope if there are really bad feelings toward her with some they do contact her in the manner she suggested on her farewell speech unless her profile is now gone with her e-mail. Probally is by now. :(--> Anyway Mary thanks for some of the post (just the ones I liked and some of the others ? oh well ! lol :D-->) Oblada di Obla da Life Goes ON ! Just like where I work. People quit all the time but there are some who leave with heartfelt memories ! Ok enough of my goodbye speech about Mary !
  16. Excathedra do stick around cause I for one love your humor and you dam I laugh so hard at some of your comments. :D-->You are a riot and you liven these threads up. Your heart too shines genuine ! Yeah the internet can be scary I agree but hey you are among some ex cult people who care about ya ! :)-->
  17. Happy Birthday to your baby Shell who is halfway to 18 !
  18. Happy Day on July 5th to ya and enjoy your day and have a whole lot of fun to celebrate !
  19. Am I alone ? As bad as some of you think Way Productions was I still have a hard time with some of the current Christian music out there ? !Just my opinion ok ? Anyone here listen to the funeral of Ray Charles in LA yesterday on public radio ? OOOOOps Am I derailing the thread ? Sweet Georgia on my Mind !(Will miss that Ray ! :(-->)MR. Charles what a cross over musician and will look up if he did any Gospel tunes. Anyone know ? I did learn listening to the funeral his son is a minister! Ray Charles my hero right next to the FAB 4 and others ! None in TWI though ! Way Productions had their limitations but did still manage to put out some gems that still move some. Anyone remember the Way Orchestra doing the big band swing music back when at a ROA ? Anyone remember someone at ROA 74 blasting POCO'S music over the sound board when setting up in the afternoon ? Ok time to go now while I can savour some good memories of Way world !
  20. So many of those songs still locked in and not just the Way Productions music but the fellowship level stuff written by friends of fellowships I was in too. k back to Way Prod. "Open your heart and just give Christ a try" He's in love with you he arose to set you on high" You'll never know till you know that you've tried, His warm and tender love always thinking of God's Son inside" Still sing that one ! :)--> Another one: If you could look into God's eyes. What would you see ? A Father's love so tender . so complete. yeah they are still there ! Oh and that Paul Vergillio's "THere's A Place in the Valley" Some hated but me I love it ! I may have the title wrong and of course there was Pressed Down and loved that tune Got a Connection Got a Connection hey hey I gotta a connection ! Think that was by John M. of TAKIT part2. "Way of Peace" by Joe Fair ! To my first twig leader Paul L.,That song you wrote and performed for us at fellowship is still a gem bro ! "Listen people to what I got to say now" ooooooooooh "you don't have to cry no more" yeaH Paul ! To another fine musician & song writer in that same fellowship your songs still touch me too dear lady ! Excuse me having a moment ! So much of my life wrapped in these songs ! :)--> Maybe I should compile a best of Cd ? Ok gotta go to some sleep now !
  21. Ted so nice to see you on this thread !Around 1982 I think you and that English guy were doing some PFAL promo entetertainment with a boom box in Rochester, MN You 2 were quite act I was told! You both ended up spending the night at our home. My wife and I loved the fact that you both went out and hit some local tavern that you told me you had performed at pre TWI gigs. You both slept in late and awoke when I did from the night shift for breakfast noon ! See at the time Ted I was working a 8pm to 4am job that paid well and getting all kinds of flack over it ! You were a bright spot on that visit and I never made the PFAL public X the night before but my wife told me about the whole act ! :D--> You also shared with me about all your gigs years ago in the SE Minnesota area. To close Ted your songs always touched me and one song I love to play is "Me and CHRIST JESUS" Got our own thing goin yeah yeah yeah ! "Attic Of Your Mind" was and still is a song I find myself singing too !Actually the song describes my mental state while in TWI ! My attic got more arranged when I left TWI ! I thought you were one strange act when I first saw you in Rye, NY back in 74 but amazing how I got to love your act and the passion with which you would perform! Take care and no more boom boxes for a back up band these days ? :D--> :)-->
