Exxie, The Bennett case was a child custody case filed in the state of Colorado, in the late 90s or 2000. It was discussed SOME on Waydale and Gspt, but since it was a child custody case, people were (surprisingly) kind. It went something like this, J Bennett and his wife were in residence in the way corps at Camp Gunnison, they also had some children there with them. Pa*l Mos*que*a was the corps coordinator, it was during summer the summer. LCM and Wayne Clapp were both there. J Bennett found out that Mrs. Bennett and LCM were having sex (I don't know ANY of the particulars,) BLEW HIS STACK....went to Wayne Clapp, who confronted lcm (anyone that knows THE TRUE FACTS...please chime in here.) J Bennett was immediately packed up and deposited in Gunnison, Mrs. Bennett stayed on grounds. J Bennett filed for divorce and custody.....lcm was named as in the suit. I know for sure that BiLL Gr**ne & Ri*co Spagetti flew out there for the hearings. Mr & Mrs Bennett had been twig coordinators in the DC limb the year before I moved there, 1998. They were loved and well respected. As soon as this whole mess came down, J Bennett (bless his heart) called back to DC and told most of the folks what had happened. Within ONE WEEK, four couples (most of them HFC's) had quit and hit the high road. The was quite a bit of fallout from this in wayworld. Wayne Clapp had finally had it, and turned in his resignation. Pa*l and B*v took a field assignment .....step one in their road to freedom. J Bennett told his story at least once on Waydale, and another time here at Gspot....I occasionally see him in the blue box. I have no idea how or where he and his children are. Sky, The Lichts had been the region coordinators in MICHIGAN from 1993 thru their leaving twi. They left from MI. John and Mary Lou Shroyer had been in Florida and had been unceremoniously *dumped* by lcm in 1995, replaced by The Moneyhands who are still there. Waydale was indeed up running around 11 months prior to their filing their lawsuit. The CLAPPS and the Mosq**das left over the BENNETT lawsuit. Just for the RECORD....the Allens were NOT FIRED from twi staff. Paul Allen confronted LCM and the trustees, including John Reynolds in an OSC conference room. He offered them and ultimatum, they declined, he went back to his unit, packed up his wife, and belongings and left. THEY NEVER LOOKED BACK. ror Sky....private topic please

I tried to read as much of this thread as I could. I graduated with the 13th corps, and was at Emporia in the fall of 82 when the lead accident happened, and at HQ in the spring of 83 when Rochelle committed suicide. The entire event is very painful, which is why I have only been able to read little bit, by little bit. I went lead in February of 1985, and it was definitely the HIGH POINT of my time in residence. I am a city girl, but I totally enjoyed Tinney in February!!! I froze my butt off, climbed rocks....(I HATED THAT), did the Australian Repel (LOVED THAT,) did my duo...again, there was 6 inches of snow, froze my butt off.....and broke out in hysterical tears my first night back in Emporia, because 500 people in the OSC dining room gave me a panic attack. I graduated from the corps in July of 85, and went on staff along with Stev*n Spielber*. His face still bore the huge red blotchy scars fromt the accident, two years before. I have known Kev*n Smi**h for a zillion years, we were extremely close and I have discussed the LEAD accident with him, many times, over many tears. Kevin was about 25 when this accident happened, and as much of a koolaid drinker as anybody has ever been. Kevin lived for years with the guilt, the pain, the memories, nightmares and fears. If ANYONE OUT THERE that was involved in the accident wants to talk to him....HE WOULD TALK TO YOU. If anyone needs to settle issues, have questions answered, he would take care of it with you. He is one of the truly "good guys" of the twi of old. Never pushy or flashy, didn't try and put himself in the limelight, he was just a young man, trying to do what his lifetime of cult-life had taught him was right. Yeah, thanks JT for starting this thread. I was really involved with Waydale, more so than I am here at Gspot. Twi was able to ...thru the power of subpoena (for the Allen lawsuit) identify RADAR with my real life name. Once they had my identity, the limb coordinator of the state I had been living in called all over the state of North Carolina, telling people I was actively seeking to destroy twi, that I was possessed and god only knows what else he said. He asked any and all to let them know if and when I had heard from them. I had MANY MANY twi innies call me and let me know all of this. Then as now, I have done my speaking, first at Waydale and now at Greasespot. I have never endeavored to go out on a canvass campaign. I hope any innies read this thread. TWI will stoop to low levels YOU DONT EVEN REALIZE to stop the airing of the TRUTH. ror

I needed to start a new post for this one. HITCHHIKING My first year in residence with the 13th corps, I was sent from Emporia to HQ for the last of the in residence year. I traveled with one of my corps brothers. I thought I knew him well, and we were friends. While we were in residence we had been *allowed* to run a PFAL class in Kansas with John Townsend. I was pretty happy about traveling to hq with him (I had a broken ankle at the time, I had broken it half way out of Emporia on an 8 mile run, I WALKED BACK four miles with a broken ankle!) Anyway, I was happy about going to HQ with this guy cause I trusted him and felt safe with him. He eventually became a twi clergyman. After I left twi, I found out that he had SHOT HIS WIFE TO DEATH with a shotgun just a couple of years before he entered the way corps. He found her in bed with someone else, and the state he lived in had a "heat of passion" defense that allowed a no time sentence. Okay....I cannot tell you what that did to me emotionally to find out I had spent endless hours alone with a man that had murdered his wife in cold blood. ror

Sky, It was called "Rodeo School." It was completely voluntary, unlike LEAD. There was a choice between bull-riding, and "bucking horses." One of my best friends was instrumental in starting Rodeo school up, and teaching it for a number of years. Like many things in twi, the "idea" was great...the application sucked. I remember the Rodeo School of 1985 the year VPW died, it was my last year in residence in the 13th corps. My friend Pat, was there teaching and participating and when he came back to Emporia, he was a different man than he had been just 3 weeks before. He was disappointed, disgusted, disillusioned with the ministry and maybe even God. He couldn't explain or verbalize it...but the difference was STARK and COLD. I am still amazed at how twi could take a great idea and F**K it up....and hurt every one involved at the same time. ror I clearly remember part of his main complaint was that twi was allowing completely incompetent people, in no way READY, physically, mentally, spiritually in grave physical danger by allowing them to participate. He felt that people were being placed in NEAR DEATH SITUATIONS without the proper consideration.

Any way you look at it.... The WayGb HAVE WAYYYYY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS and they need to get hobbies OTHER THAN trying to ruin decent people's lives. ror

Steve, This is bound to get a bunch of angry reponses....but YES THEY....THE TEACHERS, believed the stuff they were saying. I think this is the CRUX of alot of our questions....WAS IT ALL A HOAX? or DID THEY BELIEVE THEIR OWN THEOLOGY? It is my personal belief that somewhere, some how, some way.....everyone that taught this stuff.....BELIEVED THIS STUFF. How they got to the point that they believe it wast TRUTH....I don't know. But, I do believe that the time they taught it at Advances, Limb levels, HQ, STS..they believed it with all their hearts. This concept (the world according to RADAR) applies to all twi leadership from bot to twig....THEY BELIEVED IT, right or wrong. ror Hi T!!!! That all a *given*.......I am glad I finally have been released from a prison.....I never thought I would be free from.

Belle, I want to talk about the *FIRST DATE* aspect. If you are talking....you already have met the guy somewhere (work, the grocery, the gym, at a friends house, etc....) then just be yourself and follow your own gut rules about what kind of food you eat, and how you eat it. Can't go wrong with something healty and simple to eat like steak/chicken breast & salad. If you are talking about BLIND FIRST DATE, you have never PHYSICALLY MET the man, then UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE A DINNER DATE FOR YOUR FIRST DATE. If you HATE HIM....you have to spend minimum of an hour with him, and one or both of you is stuck with a dinner tab. If it is a BLIND first date, meet for lunch, or coffee and dessert at Starbucks or some where like that, perhaps somewhere open air with a patio. My opinion on first dates....keep all your avenues of "possible escape" open. MOST IMPORTANTLY......make sure you tell me if he is cute ;)--> ror OH YEAH, if you go on a first date with Zshot, just remember, to ask for salad dressing for your salad puts you in a higher category of *maintenance. I met L**i B*lch*lk when she was 17 and she went out Anniversary wave wow. She was sweet, eager to please, hungry to know God....she was like I had been 15 years earlier and I adored her. Flashforward half dozen years....she married Gr*g who was a good number of years her senior. He made her lose 25 or 30 pounds, she began to look emaciated and was constantly stressed by the demands of her "Man of God" husband. I was told by someone that knew them, Gr*g kept her on something like a 5 pound leash....if she gained more than that he made her life a LIVING HELL. All this talk about Corps-nazis, micro-management, ridiculous expectations and emotional and spiritual blackmail,unfortunately for most twi leadership, that DOES start at home, and with their own families. ror btw Wondering, I was 13th corps. Just so you all (Sunesis, Exxie, UH, etc) sleep better tonight, this is one of, if not THE FIRST pfal doctrine that lcm threw out after his big "my way or the highway" proclamation of 3/8/89. John Lynn had been the biggest "teacher" of this doctrine, having taken something that was taught in PFAL and MADE IT HIS OWN. In order to help discredit JAL, to whom many corps folks were loyal, lcm debunked this teaching as devilish...and even went so far as to say that he thought that vpw hadn't gotten "that concept quite right." I was on staff at the time, and simply saying "well, my FIRST THOUGHT was......." could get you reported to the "old wineskins" department. There were lots of items like this...as the TWI RE-wrote history (the subject of a current thread.) ror

GREAT TOPIC HOPE! I agree with your basic premise. Often times the "joe believer" types were completely aware of certain leadership types reputations. The twi followers were close with one another, and we tended to keep up with our dear friends by phone, mail and of course roa. Your question...if the local joe believer types knew about "stuff" why didn't the *LEADERSHIP know? There is a very simple answer to this....it was because of the twi practice of changing placements, almost like changing "administrations." For example, my first couple of years on staff at hq...I lived on grounds in a trailer with the trunk coordinator and his family. I had known the wife since childhood.....moved in with them soon after coming on staff...and worked at the switchboard. I remember one distinct situation....the trunk guy at hq, didn't like a certain territory coordinator in the limb that Ralph was doing......I remember sitting in my kitchen watching D fight it out on the phone with Ralph over this guy. It was ugly....20 years later I remember it. The trunk coordinator had followed Ralph D....who had followed, Vince, who had followed...I think Bo, ,,,,and the "ankle bones's connected to knee bone," etc. Say, that NE limb guy was highly favored by trunk guy A...he gets cush placements. Along comes trunk guy B,,,,,who thinks that the NE is an idiot....etc. Placements flowed all downhill like that. It was ALL ABOUT networking it twi. I remember asking one trunk guy..."who the hell likes this guy so much?" He has already ruined two limbs and you are giving him a 3rd to trash? The trunk guy just shrugged and blew me off. I will qualify this....by 1990...it did not matter who liked anyone. If lcm, donna or rosie didn't like someone, for any reason....THEY WERE AXED, this includes DEW and Howard Allen. I know someone that was present in a room when lcm told dew that he didn't care WHO dew liked, that dew was lucky he (lcm) didn't *DROP KICK* dew, his family and HIS MOM out of twi. It was all screwed up beyond belief!! ror

Paw, Well, I BELIEVE that twi had a rapist on the payroll and the entire bot knew it, condoned it, and covered it up. I think twi should be completely culpable for the actions of it's LEADERSHIP for their actions. The catholic church should sure as hell be responsible for the actions of their clergy...I just wish the courts could figure out how to charge and win against the INDIVIDUALS and THE CHURCH. There is virtually no way the catholic church can be bankrupted.....how else does HUMANITY voice their disapproval? IT SUCKS big time. Did anyone watch the trial today? The accuser broke down on the stand and begged the judge not to make him come back tomorrow. According to courttv, one of the other 3 men that won the civil case against Shanley, came out of the prelim, and vomited and then refused to join in the criminal case. I really hope that there is some sort of special hell for attorneys!!! ror

Not to UNDERPLAY or Emphasize in any way the early twi followers...it just became more controlling, more restrictive......MORE EVIL as twi became stronger. I had a very personal and direct conversation with Donna Martindale during that time. I asked her if she felt there was any similarities between the Bakkers and twi. The People of the Commonwealth of Ma v Paul Shanley began today. It is being touted as the "poster" criminal suit against a catholic priest. I was NOT a victim of clergy sex abuse, I consider myself a victim of CLERGY ABUSE by virtue of being a fairly high placed staff member of twi during which time, the ceo of twi was committing sexual assault, collusion, amongst other charges against his parishoners. I am constantly at war with myself....what makes the rc's more culpable? The fact that they provided the environent for clergy abuse or that they "aided, abetted and furthered the practice" of child abuse by the *re-assignment* of known sexual offenders. Any thoughts? ror
