  1. SONG!!!! You have a problem with John Shroyer? You know exactly how to find him, how to call him, email him, write him snail mail, etc. In my personal opinion, he is a good man. He has lived his life, right or wrong, trying to do the will of the lord. You have something to discuss with him? DISCUSS IT WITH HIM. If you need for him to CALL YOU, JUST LET ME KNOW. I don't communicate with him often, but I know he would take my call....he would take yours too. radar
  2. Lorna, Two things to establish. First, I don't believe for a minute you are sorry that it happened to me, but that is okay....our lives are our lives. Secondly, the other girl in the twig and myself were barely 20 years old, and we both had already been in twi for six years, her sister was married to a corps grad, and had been a limb coordinator (in a different state.) The bottom line reason is that we were both completely sold out to twi, it was our breath, our life. The rapist had been in prison for 17 years and had been witnessed to as a result of "Prison Outreach" in California. We had a wonderful man/family in San Jose that were quite active and had made tremendous in roads into the prison system. This man (the rapist) was out on parole, his *sponsor* ( I don't know the official name) was an apprentice corps guy in my town---the twig leader. After my personal incident, I was terrified to tell anyone, to this day, not even my mother knows. The other gal and I found out about each others rapes by accident. We were out for lunch at a mall and saw him drive by in his car.....we both blanched white, and started shaking...We looked at each other and almost simultaneously asked each other "You too?" Anyway, the limb/region coordinator counseled us both to not press charges because it would make "the way" look bad. We were both young, idealistic, sold out to twi and DUMB. This particular man (the rapist) was working at a hardware store, he raped the 16 year old daughter of the mormon owner. That man, the mormon, pressed charges and the rapist was re-incarcerated. Knowing the details make you feel any better? Radar
  3. DISCLAIMER: I have not read every, single, post in this thread: To me, forgiveness is one thing......speaking out against the offender is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. For example, in the late 70s I was VIOLENTLY raped, at knife point, by a man in my twig, I was not the only woman he raped that summer. He raped and impregnated another woman in our twig....he also raped the 16 year old mormon daughter of the man he worked for at a local hardware store. That man, the rapist, changed my life forever that night, and I have the physical and emotional scars to prove it. I have long since forgiven him. I have moved on, and found a way to "catalogue" that devastating event in my life. If I were to see him today, he would be LESS THAN NOTHING to me. That said..........if he were out walking the streets today, I would be shouting warnings from the roof tops. A sexual predator does not change, SCIENCE has proven and culturally we are beginning to accept and understand this. Does forgiveness mean we don't understand evil? Does it preclude common sense? I don't think so. Am I ready for forgiveness? HELL YES? Do I believe that one single day should pass without exposing the evil in twi? HELL NO. Radar
  4. WEll, apparently the reunion at the beach has been majorly outvoted!!!!! I DEMAND A RECOUNT???? WHERE ARE OUR LAWYERS???? :D--> As long as you are doing some research Coolwaters, check out the camping/accomodations at Grand Lake St. Marys & Lake Loramie. Both are locations that the local HQ staff and followers are more likely to visit than Wapak. I gotta say though....a pig roast won't do it for me. Here in the North Carolina, we call 'em PIG PICKENS and they are the number one type of WEDDING RECEPTIONS!!!! How about just a plain ole grill party? ror
  5. OKAY !!!!!! MAJOR DERAILMENT!!!!!!!!!! I am NOT a country music fan but last night I happened to watch the OUTLAWS concert on CMT. Kid Rock did a kick butt cover of "FAT BOTTOM GIRLS" He sure is ugly but he can sing justabout any kind of music there is out there! One in sisterhood with all the "fatbottom gals" ROR ;)-->
  6. Actually, I have a different take on this subject. I really CAN DO 8 hours work in four hours. I can knock out enough to amaze even the most disciplined managers/overseers. The downside of this for me has been that most managers, overseers etc, aren't quite so happy about that! The..."well, I am all done for the day" doesn't cut the mustard in today's work place. They manage to come up with 4 more hours of menial busy work, back up switchboard, or mindless Excel spreadsheets that need to be done---in order to help out someone else in the office. For me, contract work has been the answer, lets me make money, be autonomous and keep me from mindless boredom of other people's spread sheets and filing. Radar

As they say here in the south: "That'll learn 'im" ror -->
  8. Oh, Oh, Oh, don't forget my favorite regarding the RESEARCH DEPARTMENT!!! The last *published* head of the research department of twi was the deposed former President of twi before he was fired and sent packing to Toledo. Radar
  9. P-Mosh :)--> I don't have much to add to the bedbug discussion, but I have a helpful hint for future road trips. When I worked for a DIA (defense intelligence agency) contractor, I did a lot of traveling, so did all the other PMs etc. The most senior of us taught me an early lesson. He came home from a site in South America and all kinds of bugs had made it into his luggage, so much so he had to have his house fumigated! After that, his wife made him put his luggage in a large trash bag sealed up real tight out on the deck for a week before he could bring it into his house. Try it! It really works! FYI, I just had a nasty spider bite, trip to the ER, etc.....best to always have a standing script for cipro ! Radar
  10. How did we get from a beach reunion back to an I 75 reunion? I missed the segue ;)--> ror
  11. DISCLAIMER: -->....temporary derailment! My3Cents! Just a note, have I told you lately that I think you are brilliant and I think you add more to Greasespot than many people realize? radar
  12. WHAT AM I???? CHOPPED LIVER?WHY WON'T ANYONE ANWSER ME? DO ALL OF YOU HAVE ME ON BLOCK?
  13. LG, Okay...I understand your point. WHY are you still ragging on Pat?????? ror
  14. Oen, I don't often send greetings on the public forums but I don't have your email. I hope you have the best birthday of your life so far.....dreams come true, heart's desires met, a great night's sleep and an awesome bottle of chardonnay!!! P/T me or send me your email? ror
  15. --> --> -->, I am still amazed that some of you are out to f**k with Pat. I stick by my opinion that any money twi DOESNT HAVE (because they spend it on lawyers) is a good thing. 5 years ago I was putting my money on the fact that one lawsuit or the other would bankrupt twi. Now, I don't believe that way, but I do believe that the ex-way community has the power to eat away at their coffers, reduce their influence and end their empire...one day, one lawsuit at a time. ror
  16. I was at all roa's from 72-95, with the exception of one, 1979. I loved the Sidney fairgrounds, except for the biting horseflys the size of hummingbirds!! They left welts the size of a hive of beestings. I have some wonderful pix from back in those days.....of course, I took them with my Brownie camera....no idea how well they would turn out if I converted them. My memories of Lima.....:(-->, will mean more to the northern can folks... in 1974, I drove from Alameda to Lima in a big ole car owned by a member of the Valerio family, there were 9 of us in that big 'ole car, Virgil V, Diane Russell Bowman (eventually 6th corps) and a bunch of others. I have two memories of that roa. It rained like a *mother* we ended up sleeping in the car like sardines....and Hope R and I have a virtually identical roll of film. We must have camped right next to each other!!!! I guess, I preferred the roa's at headquarters. From 1983 to 1994......I was either in residence there or on staff there during the rock. I wouldn't be surprised if at least 10 of the gspotters stayed with me in my trailer on grounds or in my apartment in NK. My memories are funny......NEW KNOXVILLE VICE anyone? ;)--> ror Oh...just an inside glimpse .....during those years when I lived on staff. I lived in a small loft kind of apartment. I brought home about 400 a month from my staff job....maybe a little more, I cannot remember. I paid 160.00 a month rent+utilities. Traditionally during the month of August I would have 4-6 friends stay with me during corps week/roa. My electrical bill would at least triple and not ONCE, NOT ONE TIME did anyone from the field that stayed with me leave me a gift of cash, or an offer to help me offset my expenses. At the time, it didn't bother me. Now....many years later, I realize that even the most rank *unbeliever* would have left some cash or sent some to me in later. I am not b**tching, just an observation. ror
  17. Rascal....... My pug Buddy says hi and he loves you!!! If pugs pray, I am sure he is praying up a miracle for you and your family. Just a side thought about your kidlets.....I remember growing up within 500 feet of the SF bay, my best friend in 8th grade got a horrible case of poison oak (no poison ivy on the west coast. ANYWAY.....Jeanne got it in her eyes, the inside of her eyelids, her sinus's and all over her body......I didn't get a centimeter of it. Apparently, someone was burning it and she was an innocent bystander......a 1000 feet away. Has alot to do with natural immunity etc. Sorry about the kidlets, but as they say...."what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!!!" Tell them, just a bit of wisdom from auntie radar :)--> ror
  18. I am thinking that the South Carolina and Georgia beaches both have "camp on the beach" locations, fire rings, dogs and fire water all are allowed!!!" ror
  19. Oh come on you guys! Lighten up on Pat! I say that every cent twi has to pay in legal bills is a cent that they don't have to spend on propoganda, extravagant living for the *automatron* ( I just love that socks!), and spewing out their putrid doctrine. Radar
  20. :D--> automatron :D--> Laughing my butt off ! ;)--> ror
  21. Alfie, Yes, Pat was definitely zero corps. She used to laugh about it, and do the 'ole WHAT IT IS NOT, when I was in the corps. ror
  22. JT, The original first corps, the one vpw dismissed (which included Pat Lynn) is referred to as the zero corps. ror
  23. Okay, newsflash.....I just found out where the magic number of 60 million came from.... that is supposedly the amount of moola that O'Reilly brings into Fox News every year. 70's in Houston....sowwy, but, I really do think he looks like the screaming forehead, they are even the same height. ror :D-->
  24. Has anyone noticed that he even kinda LOOKS like the screaming forehead? --> ror
