  1. Yeah.....the wright brothers should have stuck to their bicycle exploits. NO ONE TAUGHT THEM about flying and how absurd to think that man could take flight???? And further, most people just think they think.
  2. Vic-or-his Secrets....is NO LONGER a secret.
  3. The last mog went thru a fog, was kicked off the way log and replaced by a female dog. :)
  4. At this phone hook-ups........when the time came for *manifestations* the emcee at hq would announce that, at this time, each location would be doing their own manifestations. After about two minutes, the hq feed would start with soft, background music for a minute or so. This manifestation time....was a way for EACH LOCATION to hear personal, inspired manifestations for THEIR exhortation and edification. To me, the logic and intent of this decision was okay. I just HATED the whole concept of PHONE HOOK-UPS FROM HQ. Everytime we did these on the field...........people hit the door running immediately after it was over!!! The whole concept SUCKED.
  5. Self-promotion??.....nah, couldn't be. :) When cgeer was ordained and "commissioned" to oversee Europe by veepee in 1982........seemingly, it was apparent to veepee that cgeer and lcm could NOT operate on the same continent. Both men needed space...... and the atlantic ocean to separate their egos. Cgeer went to work establishing Gartmore, the European "headquarters" and training center for the corps, and solidifying his EMPIRE. Craiggers went to work as the 2nd president of twi...... after Living Victoriously in 1982. The "same cup"....was now TWO CUPS. And, as scores of leaders were "coming of age"......it wouldn't suprise me if 30 other leaders were on the verge of splitting out. Heck, why should I be surprised??? Men like Peter J. Wxde left veepee back in 1969 (??) and refused to drink from "the same cup" and twi-doctrine. Twi's history is laced with separation and division. Some left because of twi's doctrine. Some leaders left because of twi's practical error. Some knew the inner secrets. Some didn't. Some could care less.
  6. ROFL The fox is watching over the henhouse.
  7. Back in 1996, martindale used to think that these phone hook-ups were the GREATEST...!!! The locations were announced....the number of people in attendance.....the big deal that people were "tapped to the root." The lcm ego-stroking was sickening. And, the man was blinded by his own arrogance.....and none of the region guys had the balls to tell him otherwise. Being tapped to the root of the problem.......helped many to see that it wasn't just the corps leadership in their area. The problem was widespread......stemming from......twi's HQ. I supposed, in hindsight.....I should be thankful for those hook-ups. With eyes wide open, I was able to make an unequivacol decision and EXIT twi. Have never regretted that decision. Not once. :)
  8. In one sentence......figuratively describe twi's demise. Example: My last year in twi was like witnessing a slow train wreck.
  9. GreasyTech.......yeah, 8 sunday services on the field that HAD to personify "hq standards" and help alleviate martindale's spiritual pressure from debbil spurts while he was filming WAP. In one of the northern cities, a corps friend of mine.........had assigned 15 people for the 2-hour early arrival and set-up. Add to that....children, early meals, travel time, dark suit taken for later change of clothes, etc. etc.......MADE FOR AN EIGHT HOUR COMMITMENT ON SUNDAY. And, what's more.......with his branch, only about 5 more people showed up for these teachings (besides the 15 for set-up). After about 4 weeks of this.......most everyone couldn't wait till this gruelling task was over.
  10. From recent reports, twi's sunday services are PATHETIC and BORING. It's "appeal" is spiraling downward, year after year. Even in the 90s, I knew some corps who REQUESTED to move away from the 250 mile radius.........BECAUSE they'd grown tired and weary of all the mundane traveling to hq, all the car-caravaning, all the hoops to jump. Actually, when I think about it.........twi's auditorium has rarily been filled to its 1400-seat capacity. And.....today, some 1400 people would be HALF OF THEIR FOLLOWERS IN THE USA.
  11. While you're here at Greasespot, ckmckeon........you might want to check out the Open Forum, or the Doctrinal Forum, or the Just Plain Silly Forum, or Friend Tracker, etc. etc. etc. Of course, if you cater to the About The Way forum........the discussions are going to encompass things like twi, vpw, lcm, rfr, bot, etc. Not to hard to figure things out around here. Are you trying to hide the wierwille legacy of abuse and plagerism? Read Matthew 23. Start there.
  12. Belle.......three way calling upon three way calling upon three way calling. Talk about dashing the concept of the "more abundant life....!! And, Moneyhands gets MAD.........handled like a true coward. Sure wouldn't want to take these complaints back to martinfail and tell him how idiotic these phone hook-ups were. No sirree........a brown-noser just follows orders. Period.
  13. The twi phone hook-up craze came storming through twi around the early 90s. In general, there were three different types: 1) The branch phone hook-up.........in clubhouse room or small rental room (capacity..20-60) where branch guy oversees the meeting. Generally, not a coat and tie situation. I couldn't stand these things......but had to follow directors from twi leadership to remain corps. Boring. Awkward. Bizarre. 2) The limb phone hook-up............larger meeting and, at times, was held at a campus location (like Camp Gunnison). More formal....with main guy trying to take the edge off this stuffy, stiff event. Even more awkward that the branch hook-up. Uuuuugh. 3) Corps teaching hook-up...........weekly teachings by corps director. In the mid-90s, lcm mandated for the corps to be dress in coat & tie (men). Absurd and elitist form of indoctrination. Half the "teaching" was spent on yelling and slandering some corps, some situation. A real scream-fest. I hated these hook-ups. They were putrid attempts to instill MOG WORSHIP FROM A DISTANCE. And, when I read accounts like bliss' on another thread......where folks traveled over MONARCH PASS every month to get back and forth from Camp Gunnison just to hear a stupid phone hookup......my blood boils. Sheeeeeesh......on ONE hand, twi teaches that "their people are taught" to operate all nine manifestations.... and on the OTHER hand, twi's mog has to do all the teaching. Can't seem to trust anyone else to handle "the greatness of the word." Pathetic outfit. Absolutely pathetic.
  14. And.....on the field, all of us corps branch coordinators were required to teach 8 branch sunday services..... stringed chairs, podium, coat & tie affair, ushers, way prod, display table, sign-up table, announcements, the whole shebang. According to mog.....it kept debbil spurts working overtime and away from hq.
  15. For those who were 249 miles from hq.......the whole prep and travel experience was a 12-15 hour ordeal. And, if one traveled by car caravan and with several children, factored in all sorts of communication and preparation for this mandatory attendence. And..........3 DAYS LATER, the cassette tape arrived in the mail. And...........you paid for that TOO.
  16. Yeah, igotout.......like everything else, EXCEPT TWI, churches have advanced in the past 30 years. Today, the churches that I've attended offer a variety of study, support groups, community service, teen involvement, little league baseball, breakfast prayer groups, business luncheons, etc. In all facets of life, lots of churches have really rolled up their sleeves. But......no longer do I tend to think in terms of twi's "black OR white" statements. Truth is truth.....no matter where you find it. Today's world is so intermeshed with information and involvement that, it seems to me, we've far outpaced vpw's statement. Along with radio programs and tv evangelism, the internet is a growing source of Bible study and chat rooms. :) And, some of those California churches are pushing out old stereotypes and ushering in new trends and concepts of "church." Bible study groups are EVERYWHERE. Twi remains frozen in a vpw-pond in a pasture in the middle of nowhere.
  17. Long before the lcm-mandated daze.............veepee boasted and singled out individuals who traveled in for his sunday services. But like everything else in twi.......more hoops to jump. Besides.....some of those couples were retired when they traveled to hq in the 60s/70s. Some of these people had no kids, etc. Why can't twi leadership SEE that it was a different time, different everything. Heck, there were NO CORPS ON THE FIELD at that time.....and now, twi mandates a "250 mile radius" rule to keep with their wierwille-days origins. What a petrified way of thinking.....
  18. Yes.............it HAS to be a DARK suit. Doncha see it........the protocol issue is a major issue with twi. Always has been. And, after 6 p.m. it becomes standard protocol to wear evening attire.......or a dark suit (for men). And, lest we forget...........the advanced class grad pool gives way to the highest percentages of corps material. About midway through the adv class, rico spaghetti or johnny ruppy or isn'the hornie will give the corps promotion speel. The dress code issue is a major hoop towards comformity. The advanced class has been a tried and tested method for twi for decades. One hoop leads to the next and the next. And, in business that's just standard m.o...............BUT in a "christian" organization it SHOULD be so much greater than that. The education should be BIBILCAL STUDIES..........not twi-conformity. Been there, done that.
  19. Bagpipes, And to think......this is only the WRITTEN requirements. Once the local corps get their "marching orders to follow-up on his/her progress"........the no-debt issue will surface, the recommended amount to ABS, the protocol and attitude towards reporting back, etc. etc. This candidate letter is just the beginning. shudder.
  20. The Goal........becoming an Advanced Class graduate.....????? Isn't the aim of all education....ACTION..?? If the "goal" is just a nametag (climbing twi's hierarchy ladder)......it's counterfeit. Period.
  21. In other words.......report back to us every month and we will monitor your progress. Yes, we have set standards and will tell you IF you meet that standard. Your dependence on us...............STARTS TODAY. Subtle suggestions yield fawning followers.
  22. Leaving twi with..............I-anity. The worship of self....and what the mind can believe. :)
  23. Yeah.....and if one is a long-standing veteran corps who shows signs of exiting twi.....the LOUDER the confrontation. After all, it not only challenges twi's whited sepulchres....but it points the finger right back at the CONFRONTER... challenging him on twi's indoctrination. One man awake..........AWAKENS ANOTHER (possibly). :)
  24. So true! So true! Pull a FRIGGIN' SENTENCE here..........and a FRIGGIN' SENTENCE there..........why, don't they just read WHAT'S WRITTEN???? instead of reading *around* what's written???? Uncle Harry managed his debt......twi. You got THAT?!
