  1. Oh there are nuggets all right... Projectile booty nuggets...
  2. I poked around (after watching the first and second videos today) and I found this: Life in a Jar: This should be the true goal of a student, teacher, parent...Human - to pay it forward. We read history to learn. We are exposed to some hideous as well as amazing and inspiring truths. Perhaps it's more of an American "disease" that we ignore things just because the speaker is not someone we like or can stomach. Just how many Germans do you think ignored Hitler because they couldn't stand what he said or how he sounded or that stupid little mustache? Bravo for these students and their teachers and the people who helped them.
  3. I skipped over the next part because Rosalie gave me the creeps. I couldn't stand the sound of her voice or the look on her face when she spoke so smugly about being oh-so-spiritual. The next chapter began with... "The cornfield cult had been turned into a work camp ..."
  4. Mr. Kettle... calling Mr. Kettle... There's a Mr. Pot on the phone for you. Where are you when you post Oldies?
  5. Irena Sendler was an example of more than great strength. She did what was right. Her goal wasn't to get an award, or fame, or to be talked about when she died. As a CATHOLIC she could have placed these children with Christian families to protect them while she conveniently "forgot" to maintain their Jewish heritage. She could have then allowed their true heritage to die and fade into a distant memory. She preserved their identities. Can you imagine a "gentle" woman like her training dogs to bark so that the German soldiers wouldn't hear the cries of the babies in the coffins and tool chests? Can you imagine what it took for her to ask the families to trust her with these children? "(Please give me your children!") Over 2500! Can you imagine how vicious a person (and regime) had to be to capture her and break her feet?! But they couldn't break her spirit or her resolve. Can you imagine what it was like when that woman who cared for her in the nursing home realized that Irena- the woman in front of her - the woman she was to care for, Irena was the very same woman who smuggled her to safety as a six month old infant? And she didn't try to start her own church with these now-grown infants. She didn't gather them up and tell them to be thankful to her church or her ideology. She went on with her life. No splinter groups. No politics. Simply love and decency; strength and integrity. Do you think Irena shed more tears of pain over losing the Nobel Peace Prize or tears of joy over seeing that that little six month old baby had grown up and was leading a healthy life?
  6. IMHO... The point is NOT that the second version was posted. The point is that there was a "need" to post a second version. The second version had different information and not necessarily more information. Like I said, why did the message take a back seat to the messenger?
  7. Oops! The item is still for sale! So... no cookie jar, no cookie, no sale (yet) and no Big Bad Boogie Cult strongarm tactics. Too bad, so sad.
  8. uhhh... there is at least one other possibility. The guy selling the set could have ended the auction because of the 'warning' posted on his site. Then again... suppose someone did offer the 5 Grand? You're not jumping to conclusions without proof now WD, are you? Or did you get revelation? (tongue firmly planted in cheek)
  9. I may be wrong. but is anyone else reminded of the close-minded mentality that permeated TWI? That being: 'I have to be my brother's keeper so I'll make sure he's "right" and "righteous" and I'll get involved in his business.'
  10. Honestly... what difference does it make who told the story? We say, "Don't kill the messenger just because you don't like the message." Isn't this the equivalent of "Killing the message because you don't like the messenger,"?!?! The story was beautiful no matter who did the speaking.
  11. Thanks RumRunner. I got chills watching that video.
  12. Mr. Pot... paging Mr. Pot. There's a Mr. Kettle on line one for you."
  13. He bellowed.... "I wish you could see it in the original!" I ran to the woods before he could show me his original, where I was greeted by the spirit of Uncle Harry...
  14. I used to put all the ingredients in a tall Pyrex cup and use an immersion blender to whip it all together. For some reason the immersion blender eliminated the need to drizzle the oil in slowly. I added a pinch of mustard powder to the ingredients already posted.
  15. "What are you eating?! Answer me now!" I turned slowly and my expectations of trouble were met immediately... The man behind the voice put out his hand and demanded, "Spit it out!" Instead I quickly swallowed what was in my mouth while I buried the remaining small morsel deep in my pocket.I covered my 'disobedience' by making it look like I was getting a pencil to take copious notes of the teaching that was about to begin. "I'll be late if I don't run," I said, trying to get away so that I could finish my last bite before I became sickened by the morning's beratement. He squinted... then said dryly, "You're going to make a mistake, and I'm going to be there to catch you in it. Now get to the meeting. Bless you." I walked away, pretending to smile a blessing back, but inside my pocket my middle finger was poised for a greeting." The walk to the meeting was...
  16. You're predictable WD. You completely ignored my point that you and Pond are furthering your own brand of victim mentality and chose to go after the weak (very weak!) request for documentation on venting. I'm done here. You have a perverse interest in being a victim. I won't be party to encouraging that.
  17. Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because no one has answered your challenge that no testimonies exist. That would be a mistake in logic. What you should consider is that people are getting tired of you and WD promoting your own form of victim mentality and are just not willing to play the games anymore. If you want to consider yourself as "winning" then I guess that's fine - but in reality you are fooling yourself. This thread has been a bit disgusting to read. Two posters trying vehemently to promote their own victimhood (Oh poor me. I saw stuff and did stuff but I can't talk about it because I have no proof,) while they deny others the right to vent. Am I stupid enough to say that every account of rape is true? No. But even if only ONE person told the truth and then hundreds repeated it as if it was their own story - VP was STILL WRONG. Oh, and BTW, there is at least one example of VP's depravity that normally could be cited, but the new rules keep it from being talked about. You want an account? Go listen to the interviews with Kristen Skedgell on the first page. That is first hand. Do you "need" more examples? I'd say that one is more than enough. He was wrong. I don't need more examples of his depravity. If you do, perhaps that says something about you. It's bad enough that one young lady was manipulated by a man old enough to be her grandfather. Wanting or needing more examples is just perverse. I may be wrong - but that is my opinion.
  18. Oh NO! The end of the world is coming! Get the MAL Packs!
  19. Amen indeed, Groucho. I started this thread because I believe that we are allowing our freedom to slip away - one right at a time - in favor of convenience, popularity and the almighty dollar. And as RumRunner pointed out, this is precisely the reason for speaking up here at GSC and speaking out against any form of group think that is imposed on us, both individually and collectively.
  20. Here is a powerful reading of the Declaration of Independence. Please consider how much was put on the line by so many so that we voice our concern and dissent. Remember how much is lost when we acquiesce and march in lock-step. Here also is a link to the Bill of Rights. Please take the time to read them. http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/co...llofrights.html Note that the first amendment both empowers the individual while it limits the government concerning freedom of speech and freedom of religion. *Please don't move this to the Politics Forum right away. I think it's a subject worth remembering out in the open.*
  21. Flying monkeys? Ahhh.. the witch's little flying henchmen - who carried poor Dorothy to the witch and her clergy (you know, the winkie soldiers who sang, "Oh we oh OH OH!" ;) )
  22. Is this a court of law? NO Is the government looking to convict someone because of what is said here? NO Is anyone entitled to their opinion? YES Are the things I'VE witnessed and I'VE heard first hand "testimony"? YES Now- is there really a reason to go further? I think not... <_<
  23. Interesting concept... the light goes in and the kr@p goes out. I guess if everyone one is a member of the Body... someone has to be the... well you know.
  24. Rascal - I'm sorry you misinterpreted my post. I never meant to insinuate that either story was untrue. In the above quote I was saying how unlikely it is that JT would sue and how unlikely it is that the woman in question would have a concern.
