  1. what will be done is done, what has been done is yet to be discovered. i can't see it, but it will be seen where does the heart set itself
  2. Well....I don't buy the fallen man deal. I think it was a step forward and upward. Death is not understood therefore the life that comes from it isn't either. The first Adam compared to the last in so many places. Wonder why.....
  3. A most excellent question and statement wraped up in a few words. Transform, seems to be what is in the mind of God. Says somewhere about confessing our faults to one another, that helps. Recognizing that Grace isn't so bad, tempered with Mercy. And the hand of God reaches both from the inside out, and the outside in, so making peace.
  4. Figuring all that out can be hard and fun at the same time. 2 Cor 4:5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us Interesting that it says the light shined out of darkness. We were taught that darkness was so wrong and devilish and all that, and here it says this is where the light is coming from.
  5. is there only one interpretation? or can something mean something different to another and continue to unfold and change and bring the person along in other words, why can't this communication be progressive?
  6. Interesting posts Joseph. Why do you ask for an interpretation when you are stating so much that you believe to be truth. What if the interpretation is not what you believe or think?
  7. A new Hard drive is needed from time to time, and it can be a fresh install without hassle if this works. http://netsecurity.about.com/od/windowsxp/...qtwinxp0829.htm I haven't tryed it yet but I might soon.
  8. Also...lol...I told ya , bear with me :) Some are better at speaking in tongues then others, as that is stated in 1 Cor 12 and so on. Somethings just flow for some better then others, but as it says I think quite clearly that everyone is equally iomportant no matter what they are good at concerning spiritual matters as it starts out in 12:1. Also I think there is a lot in these 3 chapters that we have not even come close to understanding. You see I also believe the Bible is in tongues. And there is understanding of parts of it by many and as we listen grow and learn more and more of these scriptures will open up it's treasures as the Spirit opens the ears and eyes. 'Nothing new under the sun" Limited. Yet here we are talking about speaking with new tongues, hearing with new ears and seeing with new eyes. So we must be speaking of things beyond what is under the sun, a newness yet to be discovered. Unlimited. The word 'new' is especially interesting in Psalms and Isaiah and Jermiah and well quite a few places. There are 150 uses of the word in the kjv.
  9. I believe it is called speaking in tongues because others do not understand at times.
  10. Also this- One could speak in tongues and not go any further to try and get the meaning across. Or is it saying that 'except he interpret' would be the one hearing. And could be both but not too sure about that....yet...
  11. Yes though I don't think my definition would make to Websters or Wikipedia. And not quite sure how to put it anyway. Jesus said they heard but didn't understand, saw but didn't see. These parables and even other things he said were not understood. Though this does not make not understanding what someone says speaking in tongues. For example, here in Corinthians the one speaking in toungues is edified. And therefore understands what he is speaking. Bear with me now, I'm not done yet.. 4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church-yeah But here what is this really saying 14For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. Could it be that Paul would understand but no fruit because noone else does? His understanding is unfruitful. Fruit, as in fruitful to others and for others. Is this helping? I don't know if I can say it quite right.
  12. Two aspects of man. Both living both real. So I think Genesis holds some truth about what is alive or not. Chapter 1 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Chapter 2 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. That probably throws things in a tail spin for some or not. I don't know. But it seems to me that this life that everyone is talking about started here in Genesis and continues to this day and beyond. Whether it's a fetus or child that physically out of the womb, it is still life. Much like the spiritual birth. There is life within each person and the birth of that spiritual life. Both living, Both Real. While it may be dormant as a seed in an egg it is still life. On the ways of the world judging this decision about abortion, I believe that it would have to be a case by case basis. If someone was brutally raped and got pregnant and want to abort,I'd agree. If two people get together by consent and get pregnant I believe that they should take resposibility for what happened and have the baby, and maybe put the child up for adoption if they so choose. Mostly the mother I'd think would choose, though I think the father has some say so in the matter. In a case where the pregnant woman's life is at stake, I believe this choice lies exclusively in the hands of the mother. Finally, I think life is in that fetus, from the beginning....and from THE beginning. Peace, Love and rock and roll!!
  13. lol...lol...Oakspear.... I believe there is speaking in tongues of angels and men today. I also believe that it was done by Jesus. Cause who was he speaking to in the wilderness? Certainly the carnal mind could not deal with this spiritual situation in which the spirit led him. I believe he was speaking by the spirit within. It can be called speaking in tongues or speaking by the spirit of God. I also believe it takes angels to understand angels speaking. I do believe these verses and their respective contexts reflect this speaking in tongues. KJV: Mt 13:13 13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. KJV: Mt 13:14 14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: KJV: Mt 13:15 15For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. KJV: Mk 4:12 12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. KJV: Mk 6:2 2And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? KJV: Lk 8:10 10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
  14. let's narrow it down to one person 30, 60, 100, in how many ways can one person bring forth fruit?
  15. A language of the Holy Spirit given by the hands of men speaking from the angels that are on fire within. How can this be? How is that these words led all those people in Acts 2 to say the 'wonderful works of God'? I would venture to say that they heard more then they ever had before. And then they too received the Holy Spirit, which is another thread for another day. From that day and even before many have tryed to stop these tongues. They have only succeded in making many better at it. 44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. 1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
  16. Yeah, tongues of men and angels. We are to be fishers of men. So both will mix. And the hungry will see it.
  17. Thanks Danny, this is how I view research. People contributing out of the treasures of their hearts. Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old
  18. Good points Tom, I would like to remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit gave the 'utterance'. Would that be the same as toungues of angels that Paul speaks of? Sorry for not contributing more. Beem busy, but it's on my mind.
  19. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven one may want note that these were all jews from every nation under heaven
  20. 5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. 7 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8 And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” 12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devout http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parthians http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elamites http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesopotamia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cappadocia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamphylia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egypt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrene http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jews http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proselytes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cretans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_language Who came up with these languages? What ties them together? There is one who knows them all. Despite the attempts to divide. Anyone for some research? These men of Galilee knew what they were speaking also.
  21. So Oakspear, Do you think these Galileans knew all these different languages? And with the being filled with the Holy Spirit they spoke just what they needed to hear? It says it was the wonderful works of God. If the Spirit is cut out of Acts 2 then we are left with men speaking and not Spirit. If they were filled with the Holy Spirit then the Holy Spirit was speaking. Also when Peter spoke afterwords (after the speaking in tongues), all these people understood what Peter was saying even though they were from different places. And they were brought up speaking different languages, which does not exclude them knowing the language that Peter spoke. Do these questions make sense, or am I left wanting more. Or needing to further inquire?
  22. The intensity of the Love is so great that it is wrath and fire and burning and rain and rain and raining of that great power from on high that is so overwhelming and overpowering that our souls are overwhelmed with it and we cannot speak. The hate is more then any hatred that can be seen with the carnal eye. It is Love, this hatred that takes you to the depths of hell and the heights of heaven. There is no power greater then the Love that is in the Spirit. The tears are great and many as the tears of Joy overcome it. Compassion is mercy and grace, and grace and mercy is compassion. author unknown
  23. Acts 2 has been called the reconciliation of the Tower of Babel by some. And it continues even today.
