  1. Welcome Joe. Your words "only to become a leader" hit home. That turned out to be my big mistake. I should have been contented with going out WOW then go home and be happy. But no, I had to go in the Corpse. And I became one.
  2. A few years ago, I went to a hypnotist, deliberately. I wanted to find out how it worked, what she does to hypnotize people, and whether or not I could get hypnotized. The therapist says I was hypnotized. But, I was aware the whole time, and I had complete control of my thoughts at all times. While I was hypnotized, I kept thinking to myself "ok, when will I get hypnotized." I didn't lose my will or get forced into doing something and if she told me to do something that I objected to, I'd have said 'no'. My conclusion was that hypnotism was no big deal. Try it for yourself and let me know if your experience agrees with mine.
  3. OK so, it's 3 years later from the start of this thread, so let's see where gold and silver are compared to then. All values are approximate. Silver value April 1, 2022: $22.81 oz Silver value April 1, 2025: $34.00 oz Gold value April 1, 2022: $1937.06 oz Gold value April 1, 2025: $3144.33 oz Interesting isn't it. So if you had 10 oz of .9999 gold back then, it be worth $19,370.60. Those same 10 gold coins on April 1, 2025 were worth $31,443.30. Over $10,000 profit in 3 years only for keeping those pieces in your safe!

    Singularity

This is interesting to say the least. At first blush, I can't imagine AI having a soul, or free will.
  5. Unlikely. "Israel" is the old covenant in this passage. The old covenant was abolished when Christ offered his body and blood as payment for the sins of all mankind that now all mankind, Jews and Gentiles, must agree to/believe in to be saved (new covenant). Now, if you want to refer to the new covenant as today's Israel, that's ok with me. But I believe it can and does spread some confusion about what covenants we are talking about. Thx.
  6. An amazing find and appropos to the discussion; just ordered this book: https://www.amazon.com/Strongest-Poison-Survived-Jonestown-Massacre/dp/1940522161/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.tFIXKKP6_n66F0cOBGcbxsUoQLlzP9XTQG5Bano0TbfGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.cwMJlyg8IdcDcj1IzMmLXX6HjiZ6uFeyfO2n8y6toLk&qid=1743891964&sr=8-1 It's by author Mark Lane, an excellent research man and author, who's written extensively about the JFK assassination. I found out about this most recently through 'Americas Untold Stories' podcast that I am a subscriber to. Here are a couple of links, if anyone would like to know more about Mr. Lane and his interesting experiences.
  7. Thank you so much Charity for taking the time to say all of this it's greatly appreciated.
  8. You know as much as me that faith is believing... but I should have said "former faith" since she apparently lost it along the way. I know nothing about schizophrenia... did a little AI searching but can't speak authoritatively. Scriptures promise a chance at healing with the Lord but not guaranteed (unlike that TWI hand that always fits in the glove, we know healing is not always the end result). But first, I would do everything medically in the senses realm... medication, therapy, etc. While seeking that, continuing in prayer (and fasting) and wait for a response from God. We know God allows these things to occur -- the biggest question is why? I don't have an answer to that, but the fact that I don't doesn't stop me from continuing to have faith in him.
  9. You don't have to believe that Steve Urkel exists to despise the character of Steve Urkel. Isn't that what some might refer to as a strawman argument?
  10. "you lost your faith in God along the way... let me help you get it back I am willing if you want my help..."
  11. Certainly not... but I believe a reason to worship God and continue in the faith, comes from awe and respect for what he's done to demonstrate his grace and mercy and believing that his justice ultimately will prevail. I've been told in the catholic faith that eternal hell is part of that justice; only don't ask me to explain that. I do have a question about atheism in general. What is it really? I thought it was not believing in the existence of a god and/or any spiritual being? If that is the case, why the "F God" to something that doesn't exist? All that really says is atheists do believe in God but hate his guts?
  12. Watched the video clip. As to the gentleman who said " 'F' God ", I was wondering if he has any fear of eternal hell or any reservations, or otherwise willing to accept living eternally without God; if it comes to that. I would be afraid. His outlook seems as bad as one can get.

There is at least one other pressing of this sensational tune but I believe this is the first pressing:

    Saturday Night

On Lover's Island Where the trees stand so tall And the dust turn to gold And love never grows old On Lover's Island Where the birds sing of love Seems a gift from up above I met her one day (Met her one day) As we stood alone on the mountain Under the moon and stars above Oh, darling, don't ever go She was Venus, the goddess of love On Lover's Island Where the trees stand so tall And the dust turn to gold And love never, never Never, never grows old Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Alexander Manigo / Leon Peels Lover's Island lyrics © BMG Rights Management, Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC
