  1. Are all guns acceptable? If its fine for your neighbor to own and use a hunting rifle, is it also fine for him to own and use a machine gun? Would you feel safe if your neighbors bought a grenade launcher to protect themselves? Where do you draw the line?

    C2 taser

You're right. Here's a better link . http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/n...730taser30.html and here's a link where TASER, Int, says tasers can kill. http://www.taser.com/safety/LG-FORM-VOLUNT...ease%20Form.pdf
  3. I really don't understand the hub-bub about John Schoenheit. When I was talking with people who fellowship with CES, and telling them what was going on with the personal prophecy, I heard many times about how John Schoenheit wrote this wonderful book, and he studied all about it, and how great it was that John S. was with CES, blah, blah, blah. He's not a bad guy, that I know of, and he's obviously smarter than the average Joe, but really, what has he done to deserve all this adoration? Write a paper saying adultry is wrong? Write a book on personal prophesy? Is that all it takes? Or has he done something, anything, besides just being a nice guy, that I don't know about?

    quinoa

Black Eyed Pea and Quiona Croquettes 1 15 oz can black eyed peas 1T olive oil 1T soy sauce 1 cup quinoa, cooked, room temperature 1/2t dried tyme 1/2 t dried basil 1t paprika 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Preheat oven to 350. Mash peas with potato masher. Add olive oil and soy sauce, mix. Add quinoa, and spices, and mix, using your hands. Put breadcrumbs in small bowl. Spray a baking pan with a little oil. Form croquettes into walnut sized balls, then flatten the ends so they resemble marshmallows. Coat with breadcrumbs and place on baking sheet. When they're all on the sheet, spray them LIGHTLY with a little more oil. Bake for 20 minutes, turn them, then bake 20 more. These are really good with a mushroom gravy, but don't serve the gravy on top, or they will get mushy. Instead, serve the gravy on the side, and dip the croquettes into it, like a fondue. Cool Fact! 1 cup of quinoa contains more calcium than a quart of milk.

    C2 taser

I'm sorry about Lauren. What a horrible ending. I hope they caught that guy. I agree you should protect yourself. I just didn't know if you knew that tasers could be lethal.

    C2 taser

Rottie, I'm not saying you should or shouldn't get a taser, but just so you're aware, tasers can and do kill. http://www.azcentral.com/specials/special4...rlist24-ON.html http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/201827_taser01.html I'd hate for you to use it thinking it would just stun someone, but they end up dead from a heart attack.
  8. I got 100% My favorite question was who helped a man in need? And you could choose from a Samaritan or some Dons---Trump, Knotts, and Duck! :)
  9. Oh no! Poor Belle! I guess there weren't too many kisses that night! Chef, I tried to grow onions once, but had no luck. What's your secret for garlic?
  10. Why didn't anyone counsel the believer who gave the computer? And why is a limb coordinator having trouble dealing with some believer? LCM once said my brain was like swiss cheese, because my logic was full of holes. I'd like to hear his logical response to my questions.
  11. When I went to the supermarket, I saw some of these brands still on the shelf being sold. Aren't the stores supposed to pull them from the shelves?

    Can you read this?

I read it, and even understood it! I don't think I would understand that even if everything was spelled right.
  13. No, I don't understand them. What does "oida" mean? I have tons of cool stickers on my Bible though! A PFAL one, and a SIT one, and a WOW one. And in the back, I have a PFAL Ready Reference!
  14. Power For Abundant Living, Chapter 6- That Man May Be Perfect, pg. 86
  15. Thanks! I'll give it a try, and remember your advice!
  16. I found a new recipe for a stew that looks really good, and since I have all the ingredients, and since it snowed yesterday and we might get snow again today (unbelievable! snow after Easter!) I thought I would try it. But here's the thing. It calls for a whole HEAD of garlic. Not a clove, a head. Now, my family and I love garlic, but this sounds like too much, even for me. But they swear the garlic isn't overpowering, because the cloves aren't chopped, they're left whole. They say its like roasted garlic. I've never had roasted garlic, so that didn't help. What do you think? Has anyone had roasted garlic? Do you think a whole head of garlic, even left whole, in a stew that serves 6 is too much?
  17. The show opened up with Jim Jones saying, "Its Christ in you, the hope of glory." Where did I hear that before? It was a very good show. I learned so much. I didn't know he had a church in Indianapolis, my hometown, or that he and his wife were the first white couple to adopt a black child in Indiana, or that he was well respected in the political world, at least while he lived in the states. I liked their band too, Rottie! There was someone toward the end of the show who said she wondered if all the good things he did in the beginning was just a way to gain power, to get what he wanted. When the babies were taken from their mothers, the mothers would weep, and Jim Jones said not to cry, let them die with dignity. The people weren't allowed to express their own emotion even at the end. So very, very sad.
  18. I took PFAL for the first time in October. The next month the murder-suicides happened in Jonestown. I remember concerned friends talking to me about my involvement with TWI, and me being all light-hearted saying, "Well, if they offer me kool-aid, I won't drink it." It amazes me how stupid I was.
  19. Tomorrow night, April 9th at 9, my local PBS station is showing a show about Jonestown on American Experience. There's a site up about the film here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/jonestown/?ca...mple_2007-04-08 Its pretty scary how similar Jim Jones and VPW were. On the special features link, there are members of the People's Temple who tell their stories. They sound like they could be any one of us.
  20. Thanks for posting this, Full Circle. I'm going to look for the book.
  21. Dot, I'm going to echo bow, and say how sorry I am for your friend, but I'm hoping you know you sure didn't do anything wrong. We've been using Natural Balance for a few years now, and I'm real happy with it. We have a 13 year old cat, and a 5 year old dog, and we haven't noticed any problems. The price is reasonable, and we get it at a pet store. They have organic formulas, and in some states you can get raw food, and for dogs they even have vegan food. There's a store locator on there website. http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/
  22. There are so many wise thoughts on this thread! What bothers me most about TS's or anyone else's teaching on how devil spirit possession might cause some cases of mental illness is, no matter how well intentioned the leader is, instead of hearing, "possession possibly causes some depression," there will be people who hear, "possession probably causes depression." People who are depressed will not seek help because of the shame, and the stigma attached. People who aren't depressed will shun or be afraid of the depressed person. I've heard people say, "If they were doing 'The Word' they wouldn't have this mental illness." I've heard people say, "There's nothing wrong with me! I'm not depressed! Do I look possessed to you?" I dunno. Maybe these teachings help some people. Maybe some people find comfort in them. But personally, I've seen a whole lot more damage done than good.
  23. Wow, Roy, that's great you wrote JS. Would you let us know if you hear a response from him? I don't understand all these teachings on how to tell if someone if possessed or not. I don't remember Christ or Paul or anyone in the Bible teaching this. I do remember Christ and Paul warning about religious leaders, though.
  24. What scripture did she use to back up her statement? I can't find any verse that even remotely says, "Depression might be caused by possession." There are many mental illnesses that are treatable, but TWI, and now CFF, has caused people to be afraid to seek help. UGH!
