    Martindale spoke to the Corps there and crowed on and on about how he had a great realization that hey! we don't just have to get together to have FUN, not that there's anything WRONG with that but hey! he could MEET with Corps, those coming into Emporia, going out, interested in the program, DO SOME WORK, get work done MOVING THE WORD. My wife and I looked at each other and thought the same thing - uh oh, there goes that. He and his leadership clones at Emporia, then staff then all the field leadership all suddenly came to the same "realization" and it became an all day schedule of them trying to figure out reasons to meet because they didn't want everyone having FUN all day.

    The social side of it was something that was natural and followed the social trends of the youth culture of that era. Both coasts were developing the new formats for concerts and events, Woodstock had occurred, etc. etc. The R of A's generated out of that social atmosphere, with their own twist.

    yeah, funny how Craig was the one who shut down the roa killed for his own reasons.....thinking back on it I think he was offended and jealous of everyone being there and having a great time. This is part of how he took down twi, part of his plan cause I think he saw how really deceitful and evil some of twi is.

  2. I don't think death here is talking about graveyard dead

    11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

    12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

    13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

    14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

    15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

    16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

    14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

    15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

    9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

    10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

    sounds like 2 deaths there in verse 10

    speaking of murderers===

    14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

    15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

  3. Stage 3 – "Synthetic-Conventional" faith (arising in adolescence; aged 12 to adulthood), is characterized by conformity to authority and the religious development of a personal identity. Any conflicts with one's beliefs are ignored at this stage due to the fear of threat from inconsistencies.

    Stage 4 – "Individuative-Reflective" faith (usually mid-twenties to late thirties), is a stage of angst and struggle. The individual takes personal responsibility for his or her beliefs and feelings. As one is able to reflect on one's own beliefs, there is an openness to a new complexity of faith, but this also increases the awareness of conflicts in one's belief.

    a big change from 3 to 4 with 5 helping out

    Stage 5 – "Conjunctive" faith (mid-life crisis), acknowledges paradox and transcendence relating reality behind the symbols of inherited systems. The individual resolves conflicts from previous stages by a complex understanding of a multidimensional, interdependent "truth" that cannot be explained by any particular statement.

  4. the most basic type of early Christian training, probably others too, but mine is Christian, anyways basic stories from the scripture covering lots of things, and good things to learn thru the early levels of faith as James Fowler puts it

    seems the trouble comes when there are different stories and ideas after the first 3 levels of faith, things have been held on to for generations and centuries which stem from early faith beliefs, blocking more deeper wisdom and consideration

    here is an example of beliefs that span many generations --- in my upbringing we were taught that hate is only of the devil, only the devil can hate, I've heard this all my life and from twi, you know - don't say I hate this food, say I don't care for it or like it, .................and it's just not true

    Thanks. I'm curious about the cultural impact of the three highlighted books, if anyone has any info or anecdotes.

    Again, I'm NOT inviting political discussion. Just remembrances or documents.

    yeah, what is it you want?

    Just remembrances or documents and info or anecdotes?

    sure......
