  1. I could be wrong but our entire table plus others saw what we thought was him and his voice sounded like his. This person looked like him although a little heavier since I last saw him. He sat in back and kept a low profile. Please all forgive me if I'm wrong. I saw him and thought it was him and then went to the table and everyone was talking about it, so I thought that confirmed it. I didn't mean to cause trouble, but only to show how Christ-like everyone behaved. I would be shocked to find out that it wasn't him. I'm just very thankful that God was magnified and Mrs. Wierwille was fondly remembered.. I guess I shouldn't have even mentioned who was in attendance. I'm sorry. :(-->
  2. I wanted to also share that Ted F. got to share and sing and it was very touching. Mrs. Wierwille would be sooooooo happy. :)-->
  3. We just got back a little while ago from her funeral. It was very lovely and a real blessing for all. It was like a family reunion and a time to share stories of how Mrs. Wierwille touched our lives. My family drove by HQ. My kids had never been there before. We were followed by security, quite funny :D--> There was a visitor at the funeral that was a shock for everyone to see. Everyone that I could tell responded with Christ-like behavior. The family did a great job to give God glory and share sweet memories of their mom.
  4. I wanted to put this back at the top and I wondered if this could be be in the mem. section. I would hate for people to go to the wrong place. Is anyone from Greasespot planning on attending? My family is attending.
  5. I'm so computer illiterate. My husband just signed us up for DSL next week and we don't have a firewall. Can I get one free that is reliable? I have anti virus, adaware, and spybot.
  6. Ted Thanks for sharing that! She was ALWAYS kind to me as well as a comfort despite her unfortunate circumstances. What a wonderful woman she is.
  7. Wow, I haven't thought about ROA in a long time. What a blast ! Yes, it ended up getting a little rigid, but I still had a great time. I guess the most fun for me was seeing people from all over the world that I knew and getting to party.
  8. BluzieQ Welcome to the spot!!!!! I remember the first time I found this wonderful place. It was incredible and is still. I'm very glad that you are here. :)--> :)-->
  9. Has anyone see Loy around the HG area? I just wondered if he is still keeping his low profile?
  10. Research Geek That sounds like old films that I saw back in junior high school. The images still haunt me. These were old reals taken of death camps. They also took videos of officials visiting these places (some of which were women) and they were overwhelmed with sadness and grief. One woman fainted at the sight. I watched this in the seventh grade,1974, and I'll never forget it.
  11. During corpse week and roa, there was also hotel, rv rentals and such. I remember going into town to do laundry. I'm sure beer sales were big during rock. There was also year around housing for staff people.
  12. With such a rapid decline of TWI, I wondered if the local towns have taken a big financial hit? There used to be much more staff, ROA, Corps Week, and other large events that benefitted the local economy. Are the locals excited they are mostly gone or bummed?
  13. WG I do agreee with you.
  14. Yes, we are talking about a five year. We are also talking about unGodly laws that prevent teachers from doing what's the best for the children. It sounds wrong to expect a five year old to communicate clearly that he/she doesn't want to be touched. It also sounds wrong to try "reason" with a five year old. Political correctness is of the devil.IMHO
  15. Ab. yes, I have gotten mad at my spouse and needed space. I simply ask him for a little time to get it together. It appears according to the news media that this child was given space and time to get it together. If she doesn't want the teacher to touch her, then say so, but then don't continue to be nasty and disobedient. It appears that the teachers did everything they could.
  16. Watered Garden I'm with you. It's time that children obey those in charge of them. A swat on the bum never hurt anyone. Of course it can be abused. Allowing a child to behave wildly is abuse too. I have hardly ever had to swat my children. When they were young, they were taught to respect those in charge of them. I certainly do not believe in abusing children. I was abused when I was a kid. Let us deal with things in a common sense and loving way instead of what's politically correct.
  17. This is another question. Should teachers and administrators spend an hour or hours trying to persuade a child to behave. What about all the other children that are there? It seems that the troublemakers get all the attention and children who are acting correctly get very little. Since it appears that teachers aren't allowed to discipline, then maybe they'll have to have padded little kiddie jails. They can hang out there till their parents come. Then at least the teachers and other children can be safe. I know that this sounds extreme, but what else can teachers do? They have very little rights. Teachers have to teach so much info. and if the kids don't get all the info. fairly quickly, then the teacher is at fault. If the teacher spends all his/her time disciplining, then no one gets educated.
  18. Teachers have a tough job. They are suppose to be teaching but they spend much of their time trying to gain control over the classroom. This is tough when you have little authority to discipline. Teachers need to have some authority to discipline and all children NEED accountablility. That is real. If this girl doesn't get these things along with a deep dose of the love of God, then handcuffs will become very familiar to her in the future.(when she is sent to jail as an adult) Let's bring discipline and accountability back into the schools.
  19. A digital camera is a great prize. The teacher can put the students pictures as well as photos of their special projects on the net. :)-->
  20. WB I absolutely love Niagra Falls. It is sooooo beautiful! :)-->
  21. CG I was involved with TWI for quite some time and then I got involved in a spin off group. I went through an abusive home growing up. Because of these things, I needed a lot of healing. This site, the people here with their understanding ear has helped me. I stay because it continues to strengthen me and I hope to help others who might be swaying about whether or not to leave or stay. For some it takes longer to heal than others. For some, they did not have a voice for so looooooonng, but now they have found it and their not planning on shutting up. :)-->
  22. WB Great article! Not only does this apply to TWI, but also a familiar spin off group.IMHO
  23. I left in 1989 and it was great. Oh that is not to say that I didn't miss some friends, but freedom is so wonderful and sweet. My relationship with God is better for it.
