    A sad week

There sure have been a lot of odd and different catastrophes all over the world the past how many years - makes me thankful I believe in prayer. I'd go broke down past my great-grandkids' money if I gave money to everyone I feel like I want to give to. Some say these are the end times but I believe the Bible says that Jesus said no man knows the time or the hour so I can't say these are the end times. I just know it's a lot!!!
  2. I was somewhat "star struck" when Craig Martindale was the president-elect and came to our area. I couldn't believe how much he yelled and yelled, and I left with a slightly different opinion of him than I came there with. I told my friend that went there with me that I didn't know if I was going to be able to hang with this group if that guy was gonna keep yelling like that all the time. She assured me he was simply using the coach style of teaching and she figured he'd settle down once he got used to his new position and all that pressure. Ha! He never did settle down. I also saw Larry Pannarello and John Shroyer as "stars" and was nervous in their presence. Today I laugh at myself, but back in the day I thought they were super believers... I never did speak one-on-one with Mr. Wierwille, but I'm sure I'd have been nervous as hell. I thought he was a super believer too. Silly me.
  3. Then stop being that guy. You're a grownup living in a free society. You are free to choose what guy you want to be. So start being that guy. It really is up to you.
  4. I googled my guess and was wrong - I have no idea what song you're thinking of.

  6. Yes. Don't be surprised if she does!
  7. And that's not the first line of Tom Jones' She's a Lady.

  9. She's beautiful - you are so blessed! Congrats!!!
  10. I wasn't subjected to that "class," but my first thought was that he was setting himself up for later being able to say that he was getting revelation from God to pipe down and not "tell all he knew."
  11. Hee hee, don't give him any ideas!!! And your remark asking what if you run out of things to say reminds me of that commercial a few years back where the guy gets a message on his computer that tells him something like, "You have reached the end of the internet!" I like the idea of drinking a beer on Friday afternoon while the snow melts... Thanks for the reason to party!
  12. What I wonder is how nobody seems to recall her declaration when she took over as president that it would be no more than a 5-year-term?
  13. I tried, but could not seem to edit my post and worked on it for about 6 minutes immediately after the initial attempt, but I don't seem able to do these things anymore around here so I'll add a new post and hopefully it'll come out closer to how I intended it in the first place. I wanted to add that when President Obama addressed our school children that I asked our school principal why they chose not to show it to our kids but I never got a real answer. It was an "administrative decision" so I felt like he just passed the buck. It amazed me that we would vote a man into the presidency, but then not allow him to speak to our children across the nation. And no, Clay Jay, I'd never heard the Chicken Fat song back in the day, as I was born in 1959 - but I do like the message. I imagine since JFK was so well-liked that the message was welcomed.
  14. Twinky - I was playing your song and my daughter came along and started singing words to it. (I'd never heard the words so I thought I'd share them with you in case you hadn't either.)">My link and in case I still can't post a youtube the "right way" here is the URL: My daughter said they sang "so kiss my butt" in her class where the kids in this video say "so I shake my butt". I like the video's version much better, myself.
  15. I found it on lala.com which is a new site to me and I'm having a ball in there. It's a free registration and then you can buy mp3's or just listen. I first found Fats Waller's version which was great, then I listened to Oscar Peterson's piano with no vocals and that was sweet. Today I went back and searched for Mel Torme's version, which I have to agree with you - was my personal favorite too. (And not 'cause my first name is in it a couple times, either - lol.) http://www.lala.com/#search/Mel%20Torme%20Lulu's%20Back%20in%20Town What a fun song!
  16. Nah, no rule says we have to only do rock songs here - there's been plenty of variety. I was sure I didn't know your song by the clues so I googled it - cool tune! Thanks!
