  1. The funny thing is, it hit my while I was driving to a date, and I kept thinking the Human would give up and give the answer before I got back to my computer. Worse, I got home, but didn't remember to post until the next morning. Glad I got in under the wire! New one soon. George
  2. Correct. I had not known that until watching it recently on Turner Classic Movies. George
  3. No. Communism was "in" by the time Hanoi Jane showed her colors. And without googling, I suspect that Fonda did not win an Oscar 25 years before Fisher's first movie. I haven't seen GWH, either. I'm more into Sci-Fi, action, or comedy, so I miss a lot of "deep" films. George
  4. I don't know if it's the right answer, but I finally remembered the show I was thinking of. The Loretta Young Show (?) George
  5. Carrie Fisher's first movie. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds, told the star of the film that if he messed around with her daughter, she would put out a "hit" on him. The actress who won the Best Supporting Actress for this film had been nominated for Best Actress 24 years earlier but was blacklisted shortly thereafter for saying something nice at a Communist friend's funeral. George
  6. I'm sure there's a coming. Though, to be fair, it's not easy remembering TV from 60 years ago. (I'm only 65.) George
  7. The only "Jay and Silent Bob" film I've actually seen is "Dogma." Those guys have done more than three movies together, though, so it can't be about them. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were also in Dogma. I don't know how many collaborations they had, but one was Good Will Hunting Is that it? George
  8. I think I remember the show, but I don't think I'll be able to remember the hostess. I'm thinking afternoon show in the early 60s. Of course, those could have been syndicated reruns from an earlier prime-time show. George
  9. It's okay. We'll go with your clue. I just don't recognize it. George
  10. I was thinking of Seth Rogen and James Franco, but they have collaborated on a few movies. Rogen wrote This Is the End, but no Oscars there. Maybe if you gave a wee taste of what the movie was about? George
  11. Well, technically, my line was from We Will Rock You, but since they're always played together... George
  12. How "latter" did you mean? George Sorry about the double post. I tried to delete this but don't know how. The edit function doesn't include deleting.
  13. How "latter" did you mean? George
  14. Did this one six years ago, so maybe it's time for a return. (Hard to believe this thread has been around that long!) Cora Peterson Loana Lilian Lust Kit Forrest Priestess of the Whip George
  15. Son of a Preacher Man "Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise, playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday" George
  16. Brown Eyed Girl "Some folks say, only fools rush in." George
  17. Stand by Me "Here's my story, it's sad but true." George
  18. Dangerfield stands to inherit big bucks if he can clean up his act. Jennifer Jason Leigh Flesh + Blood Rutger Hauer George
  19. The House of the Rising Sun "Got a call from an old friend we used to be real close..." George
