  1. "Resident Alien" just finished its 4-season run. Alan Tudyk and a delightful supporting cast. About an alien (Tudyk) sent to Earth to wipe out humanity, but he crashes in Patience, CO; and his doomsday device is wrecked. He takes on the identity of the local doctor and eventually learns to appreciate humanity, even saving it once or twice from other alien races. Even though I just gave a bit of a spoiler, I highly recommend your seeing it. Four of the cast (Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterling, and Corey Reynolds) were in Houston for ComicPalooza in June and gave an entertaining and informative panel discussion. George

  5. No. More lyrics: It's lonely out tonight And the feelin' just got right for a brand new love song. Sadly, this song only goes back and forth between the same verse and the refrain, and the refrain contains the title. George
  6. Not a lot of numbers greater than 20 and less than 27, but since no one seems interested in playing the elimination game: The Phillies lost to the Cubs 26-23 on 8/25/1922. Interestingly, the SECOND-highest losing score was by the Cubs to the Phillies, 23-22 on 5/17/79. I remember watching that game on TV. (I used to live in Chicago.) No other team has scored more than 17 runs in a loss. FREE POST George

  13. "The gates of Hell are filled with the screams of his victims! ... But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no... wounded screams... mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and... gout." "All set up, boss." "Actually, he's the boss. I just pay for everything and design everything, make everyone look cooler." "The girl tried to warp my brain! Take special care, I doubt if humans can keep her at bay! Fortunately, I am mighty..." George
  14. "First Rule of Law Enforcement: Make Sure When Your Shift Is Over You Go Home Alive.” "We will pass through the American patrols, past their sonar nets, and lay off their largest city, and listen to their rock'n'roll while we conduct missile drills. Then, and when we are finished, the only sound they will hear is our laughter, while we sail to Havana, where the sun is warm, and so is the comradeship. A great day, comrades. We sail into history." "Vodka martini. Shaken, not stirred." George
  15. So please play for me a sad melody So sad that it makes everybody cry A real hurtin' song about a love that's gone wrong 'Cause I don't want to cry all alone George
  16. Maybe, but I don't recognize them. Sometimes, it will be a song I danced to many times but never listened to (or understood) the lyrics. George
  17. I'm afraid you'll be a bit disappointed: George
