"'tane" is short for "octane." (Specifically, HIGH octane.) So, you're right about the gasoline. What's the title? Who performed it? :) George

Not getting this one at all. George

Thanks. You're up. George -
Just a guess. I've seen 'Office Space," but it never made much of an impression. By George, I think she's got it! George

"For me, it's like I've just given birth to my own baby girl, except she's like a big giant girl who smokes and says "s--t" a lot. You know?" "I've been killing myself for eight days and I gained a pound." "That's impossible. Did you deduct sixteen pounds for your shoes?" "Swear to God, sometimes I wish I was a lesbian." "Do you want to try to have sex sometime just to see if we are?" "What? Yeah, right. Just the idea of having sex with another woman creeps me out. But if we're not married by the time we're 30, ask me again." "Okay." "Actually I invented a special kind of glue." "Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you?" "No. Um, well, ordinarily when you make glue first you need to thermoset your resin and then after it cools you have to mix in an epoxide, which is really just a fancy-schmancy name for any simple oxygenated adhesive, right? And then I thought maybe, just maybe, you could raise the viscosity by adding a complex glucose derivative during the emulsification process and it turns out I was right." "Did you lose weight?" "Actually, I have been trying this new fat free diet I invented. All I've had to eat for the past six days are gummy bears, jelly beans, and candy corns." "God, I wish I had your discipline." "This dress exacerbates the genetic betrayal that is my legacy." "OK, I don't even know what you're talking about cause of those words, but come here." George

Since Raitano is a fitness instructor as well as an actress, it wouldn't be hard to make that mistake. You're up! George

"V.I.P." (Valery Irons Protection) Close enough. For someone who didn't watch, you got the women's names as well as I would have! ;) George

"The Music Man" This is my ninth sick day this semester. It's pretty tough coming up with new illnesses. If I go for ten, I'm probably going to have to barf up a lung, so I better make this one count. George

Indeed. The only Superman film since 1975 without Luthor or Zod as the villain. (What's up with THAT? It's not as if Superman doesn't have a slew of other villains...) Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor) found that he could get his company's payroll computer to add up all the fractional cents from everyone else's paychecks and give him a weekly "bonus." Apparently, this concept is known as "salami slicing." In the movie "Office Space," characters bring up the idea and mention its use in "Superman 3." George PS Looking at IMDb's Trivia for Superman 3, apparently the original idea was to have Brainiac and Mr. Mxyxptlk as the villains, and a tie-in to Supergirl. I'd say that ANYTHING would have been better than the actual film, but then there was "Superman 4."

Nope. This particular Superman movie is referenced in a cult movie favorite. George

I'm here for babes. ;) George

I ask you to kill Superman, and you're telling me you couldn't even do that one, simple thing. (OK, it's obviously a Superman flick. But which one?) George

"Barnaby Jones" I remember that they were going to do a Beverly Hillbillies reunion special, years ago. The basic plot was celebrating Granny's 100th birthday (or something), but Jed had been gone for a long time, so they'd hire Barnaby Jones to find him. ;) The reason it didn't come off was that Irene Ryan had already passed away. :( I think we're out of Lee Meriwether links. Here's something else: A Playboy Playmate (in real life) stars as a hot dog stand girl who saves a celebrity and winds up being the figurehead for a real bodyguard service. George
-
There WERE a couple of good episodes (Tony meeting himself as a kid at Pearl Harbor...) I think the main attraction, though, was Lee Meriwether. I bet you can come up with another show (with only about six decades to choose from). ;) George

I know the Eli Wallach and Otto Preminger played "Mr. Freeze" in "Batman." I don't know who George Sanders is, but I suspect he did, too. And let's not forget Julie Newmar/Eartha Kitt and Frank Gorshin/John Astin. George
