  1. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"? George
  2. Most of the shows have been used more than once. Heck, I might even have used this one before! "I ain't goin' to class, man. I ain't never goin' to class." "Where you goin' then?" "I don't know, uh, into the religious life." "Brother Epstein, huh? I can see the headlines: 'Puerto Rican Jew enters monastery, becomes the first 'Schlamonk.'" "Where's your report card?" "My momma's got it, you dig? Yeah!" "I dig it! Didn't she sign it?" "Heh, no. She just took it in her left hand, and then she hit me upside my head with her right. See, man, and then, and then, she threw a chair at me. And then she tried to cave my back in with a TV set!" "All right, all right, have your father sign it." "You crazy? He's the one with the bad temper!" "You scratch my back, I scratch yours." "I can't do that. You see, my wife has an exclusive on my entire body. She'd be disturbed if I came home with a pre-scratched back." "James Buchanan is not anywhere. It's in Bensonhurst, which is in Brooklyn, which is where I spent four degenerate years as a student. You know how rough that is? The gangs there don't use guns. They insert the bullets manually." 1. "You're late." 2. "That's your fourth tardy this semester." 3. "Did you bring a note from your mommy?" 4. "Boy, what an honor, in my class, all four Marx brothers: Wacko, Stupo, Jerko, and Dummo." George
  3. "Station log, stardate 46922.3. We have identified the dead Klingon. His name was Hon-Tihl, First Officer of the Toh'Kaht. Why he died, and the cause of his ship's destruction, is still unknown." "Personal log, Miles O'Brien. Stardate 46923.1. We've managed to retrieve a portion of the Klingon Officer's journal. Of course, Major Kira heard about it immediately. She must have spies everywhere." "I think we'll let it go... this time." "So, this is how it all ends." "For you." "You know what disturbs me? The ingratitude. I offered you my kindness, my help, my leadership and how do you repay me? With betrayal. But you won't get rid of me so easily. You see, unlike you, I understand history. My name will blaze across the stars long after your petty treacheries have been forgotten." "But you won't be here to see it." "Is this a Ferengi fashion I'm not aware of?" "How are you, Lieutenant?" "You know what they say - put the shoe on the right foot first, but put the left foot first into the bathtub." "Are you finished with me?" "Unless you'd like to pour yourself through my foretic analyzer. I'd love to see the results." "What do you think?" "What is it?" "A clock! Fascinating, isn't it?" "Did you really build that?" "Apparently so." "Why?" "I have no idea." "The Klingon, Doctor; what did you find?" "He's still dead, if that's what you mean." George
  4. Or in heaven, either. That leaves.... As I recall, "sponsee" was what grownups called responsibilities around young children. "It's your sponsee to clean your room!" George

  8. Since Don Ameche played the same role in "Coming to America" that he did in "Trading Places," I'd consider this "iffy." On the other hand, it's nice to have others playing, so Perfect Marilu Henner The Man Who Loved Women George
  9. Ironically, this thread is for somewhat devious descriptions of well-known movies. Here, you've pretty much given the whole plot and (presumably) the lead actor, and still no bites. I imagine that when you post the title I'll have heard of the movie, but I haven't seen anything with FW in it in about a decade (excluding reruns of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High). :) Don't get me wrong. I appreciate your attempt to revive this thread. It's probably the toughest one to give clues for. George
  10. "What do you think?" "What is it?" "A clock! Fascinating, isn't it?" "Did you really build that?" "Apparently so." "Why?" "I have no idea." "The Klingon, Doctor; what did you find?" "He's still dead, if that's what you mean." George
  11. The Hunt for Red October James Earl Jones Coming to America George
  12. That's the one. Rambo (and a team of mercenaries) saves missionaries who don't know what they're getting into. You're up, Raf. Nice to "see" you again. George
  13. I don't remember the exact title, something like "Future Imperfect." Riker wakes up, supposedly forgetting the last 15 years, so now he's captain of the Enterprise. Picard is an ambassador working with the Romulans. Riker is a widower with a son. He realizes it's all a charade when his departed wife turns out to be "Minuet" (of "11001001" fame). The scene changes, and now he's captured by the Romulans, along with the same boy who was his "son." He realizes that that is phony, too. Finally, the boy confesses that his whole environment is essentially a giant holodeck; he want ed Riker to stay with him because he was so lonely. Riker brings him to the Enterprise. George
  14. Well, sure, when you put it that way! George
  15. It's a lot easier just to google the name of the show and "quotes." But, never let it be said I kept someone from going to a library! ;) George
  16. I'll give 'em until this evening, then I'll answer. George
  17. I should also mention two other "Name That..." threads. NAME THAT AUTHOR: An author is guessed from quotations of his works. NAME THAT HYMN: Like Name that Tune, but specifically for Christian hymns. These were both a bit more "highbrow" than the other threads and interest faded quickly, but they can still be resurrected, if anyone is so inclined. George
  18. Holy crap! (I wonder if that got past the cuss-blocker.) There definitely was a "seared conscience" there, but it wasn't yours! So psoriasis is now revelation? Un-frickin'-believable! George
  19. That's another one I can kind of hear in my head, but not enough to get the title. George
  20. Interesting. I would have sworn that it was from "11001001." I must be getting old. George I think I know this one. If I'm right, "Minuet" appears again. I'll let the others work on it for a while. George
  21. There were a BUNCH of requirements: All PFAL (Foundational,Intermediate, and Advanced, as well as Advanced Studies required for the Advanced Class); personal history, recommendation from your Limb Coordinator, sponsorship (finances) arranged... Anyone who was actually in the Corps care to fill in anything I missed? George
