  1. Those lines seem familiar, but I can't even "hear" a melody to go along with them. George
  2. It was, of course, my turn. However, since my "win" was tainted by googling, I'll let it slide. George A, give it a go. There are two rules: The line should easily identify a well-known movie, and the person who guesses it gets to go next. George
  3. I'll assume that that was correct. three pics, two names George
  4. I give WW an "A" for style, clarity, and precision. No split infinitives, proper use of as and like, etc. I have to give a "B" for content, though. The Greek text at my disposal, The Greek New Testament (K. Aland, et al., 2nd Ed. Wurttemberg Bible Society, Stuttgart, W, Germany. 1968.) does not have "Christ" in Phil. 4:13 at all. The verse reads (I assume that there is a way to import the Greek alphabet, but I don't know how to do it. I am using w in place of omega): panta ischuw en tw endunamounti me all things I can do in the one who empowers me (In Koine Greek, en often means "by means of.") Aland's text also includes any significant variants, and there are none here. It is possible, though, that some text may have Christ in it. George
  5. Actually, Krys, I see three icons right under your name. One is for adding you as a friend, the next is for private messaging, and the third is to view your gallery. I imagine it's just a problem with your browser. George
  6. I have an idea what movie this is, but only because I googled "Hal Moore," soo I'm disqualifying myself, at least for the time being. The movie I think it is, though one I haven't seen, was a reasonable box-office hit a few years ago, so one of you might have seen it. George
  7. All right then. Free post for anyone who wants to post a clue! George
  8. That's it (though I first heard it as the Herman's Hermits version). George
  9. Interestingly, NOW I'm having the trouble that Shellon mentioned! When I opened the page this time, I tried to get rid of that annoying Shoutbox by clicking on My Preferences. It didn't help, and I had trouble with the font/background thing ever since. (Even the little "-" I had been using to make Shoutbox go away is invisible, now.) George
  10. That's it! "Drucilla" was Wonder Girl (Wonder Woman's sister, played by Debra Winger) You're up, Thomas. George
  11. I wake up in the morning and I wonder Why everything's the same as it was George
  12. I'm probably dragging this thread down a side rail, but TWI management lying reminds me of LCM teaching the Book of Exodus at a ROA. When he got to the part about the midwives' lying to the Egyptians about the Hebrew male children, LCM said that God told them to lie. I think that was the only time I can remember the whole Big Top going dead silent. Of course, it's patently absurd. God, Who cannot lie, cannot command others to do so. But it wan't long before the "faithful" had "renewed their minds" to "the present truth." I suppose that leadership assuage their consciences (those that haven't been totally seared, that is) by believing that lying is godly if it is "for the greater good." George
  13. Looks exactly like that to me, using IE7 George
  14. Ummm, Now I See, you did get it... George
  15. "It's not like Diana to forget things. She's usually very efficient." "Really? She seems so plain and uninteresting. Her coloring is rather like wet Bisquick, and I'm sure she's blind as a bat without those glasses." "Business or social, I never get to go out for dinner." "Well Etta, I promise to take you out for dinner sometime, just you and me." "It's not the same Diana, I mean, you're not a man." "I've always been very happy about that." "Drucilla, why did you put that grass snake down Magda's back? You know she's deathly afraid of snakes!" "But mother, you should have seen her face. She turned three different shades of green." "We are not amused." "You work for a man?" "Yes." "So he tells you what to do and you do it?" "Yes!" George
  16. The Karate Kid Ralph Macchio The Outsiders George
  17. Sounds familiar, but I think we need a couple of more clues, Raf! George

    Thank you

I believe WW is writing hypothetically here, and no insinuating that your posts are "chowderhead stuff." :) George
  20. Not everyone spends all day at a computer, so let's give Rummy a little longer to respond. And, if he wishes to pass his turn to Krys, that would be fine, too. George
  21. "Bartender!" "He's just been arrested." "Arrested? What a damn shame. Who wants a drink on the house?" "What do you care about Terrans' freedom?" "I care about freedom! What I don't understand is why you don't care." George
