  1. I couldn't have said it better. Season 3 had some real stinkers, though I enjoyed episodes that featured Scotty. You're up, Hiway! George
  2. Foul tip. Right series, right season, wrong episode. This might make it a bit more obvious: "I didn't think Mister Scott would go for the brainy type." "I don't think he's even noticed she has a brain." "When a man of Scotty's years falls in love, the loneliness of his life is suddenly revealed. His heart once throbbed to the sound of the ship's engines; now, all he can see is the woman." "Scott here." "Scotty, where have you been? Where are you?" "In the Sickbay." "Are you sick?" "Oh, no. I was just checking on the lass. She's going to be fine now. There's nothing wrong with her." "Well, I'm relieved to hear your prognosis, Mister Scott. Is the doctor there with you, or will I find him in Engineering?" "All right, now. What's all this talk of dying? They've called a turn on us 3 out of 4 times. Well, that's a better average than anyone deserves. It's our turn, now. We'll fight them. So let's not hear anything more about dying." "Well, this is an Enterprise first. Dr. McCoy, Mr. Spock and Engineer Scott are all in complete agreement. Can I stand the strain?" George
  3. Hmmm. I'm sure I watched the landing with my Dad in the afternoon, but I could have sworn it was on a weekday after summer school. In retrospect, it seems unlikely that Dad would have taken the day off to watch the landing, so Sunday it was! George
  4. Funny, when I saw "That Was the Week That Was," all I could think of was the short-lived TV show. No wonder I couldn't think of it as a movie line. George
  5. It was the summer between eighth grade and high school. I was taking Algebra I that summer so I could take Geometry in the fall. Classes were in the morning. I came home and watched it that afternoon with my Dad. (North Chicago suburbs -- I don't recall it being ESPECIALLY hot.) George
  6. You're pretty good at this, M! Those weren't particularly obvious quotes. You're up! George
  7. I tried that, but it didn't work before. It works now, though! It turns out that the instructions are on p.22. The icon that looks like a small picture frame is the one to use for inserting pictures from the Web. George
  8. "Scott here." "Scotty, where have you been? Where are you?" "In the Sickbay." "Are you sick?" "Oh, no. I was just checking on the lass. She's going to be fine now. 9. Now it's my turn. "You know, if women ran the world there'd be none of these stupid wars!" "Yeah, all the countries would nag each other to death!" "Well, better get rid of the old set anyway." "Set what set?" "An old stove, and old husband, and they both take too long to heat up." "Larry, haven't you ever thought of telling a girl the truth?" "Well, I figure, anyone who puts on eyeliner, fake eyelashes, and plastic nails isn't someone who wants to hear the truth." George
  10. You are correct, Ma'am. If you'd like to give it a try, I wrote my process for doing the picture links on p. 23 (or 24?) of this thread. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be the old "Go to page..." button on the threads anymore. If you know how to do THAT (without going back to p.1 and thumbing through), please let me know! George
  11. I am forced to guess, "The Mickey Mouse Club"! George
  12. I didn't mean to come down so hard. It's just that in the "Nostalgia Thread," it was common for responders to give wry hints which showed that they knew the answer, without really giving it away while others were guessing. In this thread, the answer is supposed to be so obvious that that's not necessary! Carry on. George
  13. When did this become "The Nostalgia Thread"? If you know the answer, give it, and post another clue! George
  14. Well, whoever gets this one also gets "Name That Flick"! :) George
  15. Use the ladies' first names, and for the last clue, pretend you're from "da Bronx." ;) George
  16. This may be a little tricky: three pics, need a name George
  17. It is "Rocky." The line I quoted was Rocky's cry after going the distance with Apollo Creed. No "Yo" at that point! Go ahead, RR! George
  18. "I'll be back" was used by Ahnold in almost every movie. I imagine you mean the first "Terminator" movie? George
  19. Well, if it is, I think we'll need more quotes! George
  20. "The Last Outpost" was also remarkable in that Picard said "Merde!" when he couldn't move his ship. I guess it's OK if it's not in English! Anyway, "All right, now.
  21. WW, best wishes for whatever it is, whenever it is! ;) George

    hello

I had that problem, but only on one thread. Using Firefox instead of Explorer worked for me. George
  23. I would guess "The Last Outpost," the first (NG) episode to feature the Ferengi. Of course, it wasn't the Ferengi who immobilized the Enterprise; it was a force from the planet they both were orbiting. George
