  1. There's no official date cut-off for this thread, but it is true that most of us playing are older and remember songs from our youth better than the ones booming out of some kid's car. :D George And I've got shirts older thatn 21 years!
  2. If you google "[name of show]" and "quotes," you'll get a number of hits that you can use: IMDb, TV.com, maybe Wikipedia, and fan sites for the show in question. That should hopefully give you enough quotes. (TV.com often has quotes for individual episodes.) Give it a try! George
  3. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though most of my geography skills reference a world map from about 1970, so all the new countries and re-named countries and cities will probably throw me. At any rate, the site is blocked from my work computer, so I'll have to check it out at home. George
  4. It's got five blades. Is it a Gillette Fusion? George
  5. One of my favorite game shows (with one of my least favorite hosts): Jeopardy! (Or do I have to answer in the form of a question?) George
  6. I thought David Seville recorded all the tracks. No small feat, back then. George And if you play it BACKWARD, it says, "Theodore is dead"!
  7. He may be referring to the way they "up and left" Texas. George
  8. Thanks, Bulwinkl! Obviously, I'm in the minority here, but I STILL like "Batman and His Grandmother." Hey, it's the season to be jolly! George
  9. Not ringing any bells here. either. George
  10. I'm about Suda's age, and I can't think of a show that's been on that long. Is this some syndicated show? George
  11. Rascal (and cman, for that matter), Unless you actually happen to know WTH, I'd say that was a pretty serious accusation. He has a different point of view. You don't agree with it. I don't agree with it. That doesn't make him an abuser. George
  12. Thanks to all of you. I suppose the Countess has to get most of the credit, though. John was already in college when she and I got married. I like to think that I provided SOME sage advice during the last ten years though. :) George
  13. Radar, I couldn't find a big, blue face for this, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (and only 79?) George
  14. I guess there a lot of different sub-categories for "novelty" songs. There are the goofy, original songs, like "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" and "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer"; the parody songs, like "Walking in Women's Underwear"; and the "anthology" songs, like "Santa and the Flying Saucer." Any of them could be an acquired taste, I suppose. Cued by Sudo's post, I tried to find a link to "Batman and His Grandmother," which I remember fondly from my youth. Sadly, I could only find m3u files. (It would take someone of Sudo's calibre to transform for us -- hint.) It turns out Dickie Goodman did ALL of them: "Santa and the Flying Saucer," "Santa and the Satellite," Batman and His Grandmother," "Mr. Jaws," et al. (Oh, and bulwinkl's revised guess is still three years to late.) George
  15. Any more ridiculous than the Devil taking a female form to engage in a lesbian encounter with Eve?  George
  16. Taxi = "cab" "Unbreakable" is correct. And it's not JUST Catherine Bell's "twins" that I find attractive. George
  17. I seem to remember a questionnaire given out either before or after the class. One of tghe questions was "Where do you think sex should be taught: at home, at school. or in church?" (Or words to that effect -- it's been over 25 years since I've seen it.) I thought that in church would be appropriate, at least to supplement what the youngsters would learn at home. I still do, but I would have to scrutinize the teacher a bit more carefully... George
  18. We haven't had a picture of this babe in a while, so... Four pics George
  19. "Perhaps the biggest disappointment in my life is that the Bajoran people still refuse to appreciate how lucky they were to have me as their liberator. I protected them in so many ways, cared for them as if they were my own children. But to this day, is there a single... statue of me on Bajor?" "I would guess not." "And you'd be right. Take Captain Sisko, an otherwise intelligence, perceptive man, hmm? Even he refuses to grant me the respect I deserve. Laugh all you want. History will prove me right." "War is such thirsty work, wouldn't you agree?" "Perhaps if you didn't talk so much, your throat wouldn't get so dry." "Cannon to the right of them, Cannon to the left of them, Cannon in front of them, Volley'd and thunder'd." "Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the Jaws of Death, Into the mouth of hell... Rode the six hundred." "How does that poem end, Chief?" "You don't want to know." "You can't do that." "Why not?" "Because! A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place; to force them to acknowledge your greatness." "Then you kill them?" "Only if it's necessary." "I had no idea." "Congratulations, Captain! You wanted them angry, they're angry." "I'd like to toss that smug little Vorta out the nearest airlock. And his Founder with him." "Now, now Damar. That's no way to talk about our valued allies. Not until this war is over, anyway." "One ship against an entire fleet... That's a helluva plan B." "The only reason they haven't killed me yet, is that I'm part of their victory celebration. (reciting) 7:00: Dukat makes a speech. 8:30: Cake and raktajino. 8:45: Execute the Ferengi." "We'll go back to Cardassia and be happy." "She loved you, you know." "I never knew why. Now, I guess, I never will." "She doesn't appreciate what it means to be Cardassian, or to be your daughter!" "But she is my daughter! That may mean nothing to you, but it means EVERYTHING to me!" George
  20. YES! Thank you, Irisheyes. Your turn. George
