WOW!!! I just found this thread!!!!! What a wonderful capsule of Greasespot!!!! thanks everyone.... There was also the good ole days in the chat. Some of us were there close to 24/7 or came in in waves...rascal's baby girl was born in there!!! I went backpacking in Australia and would chime in here and there!!!! Way corps "elite" would pop in....PL came in and apologized to me (even tho she had no recollection of what she did)...there were many reunions of old friends in there....it was a grand ole time....Catcup would brew us \_/) and bake piping hot @@@@@ for breakfast!!!! I really miss the ole chat room....

I hear ya, moony!!!! The switching has GOT TO STOP!!!! When Alias is on now here, it is parallelled with The Office-which is a total riot to me...makes me roll on the floor every time!!! But, it seems there are "specials" on my alias channel, so I figured it didn't start yet. I didn't know this was the last season. I was up one night....late...don't remember what night, but passed Everwood on at Midnight!!! after the news!!!! I'll miss Alias if it goes. They left her on a submarine.....and dad saw a baby room set up. Very creepy. I think Michael Vaughn knocked her up with a "rosemary's baby" type of thing as a prototype for something weird....will change the story line. And if they don't go that way....they should ;)

The only show I've ever religiously watched since day 1!!! It makes it hard to get to sleep tho...very stress inducing...but, hey- I guess I could you a little dose of stress now and then :)

And I was backpacking in Australia stopping at kiosks all over to check in with everyone!!! and yeah!!! we sent rascal flowers after the birth!!! and I sent her new baby a stuffed kangaroo!!!! Those were nice times, thanks :) I'm backpacking New Zealand the whole month of April!!! I'm buying fleece (NZ merino) and possum...and may teach a class or 2 there!!! I'm staying with other spinners and weavers and am spending a week horsebackriding in Lord of the Rings country....I'm psyched!!! Those blends I get from a friend in Vermont are spectacular, and better than I can ever do in my little cottage...I haven't the room for all the equipment she has!!! I have a drum carder, spinning wheel...and a loom....and I do small batches at a time. You will need a pound or 2. The "angelina" (which is very fine shredded mylar) is throughout it, but just enough for the sun to glitter on it...it's not glitzy or fancy. The tans/browns/peaches are more textured and dramatic than the razzleberry. The razzleberry is deep fuschia and deep grey/blacks and that too has "angelina" in it. I can send you samples of all the colors that I have, so you can see how gorgeous they are!!! Right now I just bought 10 pounds of baby goat kid locks...I dye and boucle them....they are softer than cashmere.....and the textures are dramatic!!! I will be felting some raw fleece into scarves too, and then disperse some of my designer yarns into them. I can't wait to do that!!! I have dyed marigolds, lilies of the valley, mullen, goldenrod, queen anne's lace and black eyed susan's that I dyed in store bought processed mohair boucle which would make a nice moebius for you. Have you seen a moebius? No need to crochet a hat and scarf, when you can do both at once with a moebius...google it...you may like that. I just made 2 of them to sell....well, I wear one... yak yak yak I gotta go get something done.... This is a very diverse thread!!!! Did you see my felted gnomes Digi? Digi...I just sent you another long message, and it "sent", but it didn't record...and I don't think you got it!!!! HELP!!!! What's your email? Digi- I can get a 70% mohair, 15% alpaca and 15%other stuff from a friend in Vermont that would knock your socks off!!!! It's called "late autumn" and has tans/browns/pale peaches and angelina sparkle. It is absolutely gorgeous and as soon as I spin it up, it sells!!! I only weave 7' shawls- and 2 of them together would make a gorgeous rowana...but, I think your best bet would be to crochet your own floor length cape. The handspun could get costly depending on how much your need...what weight do you want? Would you like me to send you a sample of the yarn? It takes me a little over an hour to spin and ply an ounce...that with the cost of the blend would be $16/oz (at $10/hr)...There's nothing like handspun tho, as you well know. I'll be gone the whole day...will catch you later tonight.

Digi...I wrote you an extensive response to your note...!!! Did you not get it? I wrote it about 5 hours after I received yours....darn!!! I don't know how to do those private messages. I'll try again now....I wonder what happened!!!! I have just been hired to sit in a local Art Gallery with my wheel and yarns on Saturdays throughout the winter!!! dooj...those last 2 paintins are marvelous!!!! I just got back from my holiday, lest I would have chimed in earlier. I shoulda gone to art college, but my folks wouldn't let me. Now I have numerous useless degrees in nothing that really interests me. Sad. I was in DD when they kicked me out of the corps. I leatherworked a beautiful leather plaque for LCM for his premiere of Athletes of the Spirit- or whatever that dance thing was. It was a quote about "and David danced before the lord with all his might...." or something like that ....it was the whole verse. I finished that one. However, I was also working on 2 stained glass pieces for Mrs. Wierwille. One I finished...it was a little window of irises. Real nice. I was also working on a box with a big rose on top- had it almost finished when PLynn came to my side and kicked me out of the corps. I was devestated at the time. I thank god now. I have no idea if either of these folks received "our" gifts...never heard, was in the throws of whirlwind trying to repiece my life together. I had a friend in the corps who threw (she did pottery) Mrs. Wierwille a whole set of porcelain plates....that was Kathy West- 15th corps. She threw me a piggy bank out of the same clay...I still have it right here!!! No money in it tho. I've been contemplating giving it away. Perhaps some Way person would go ga-ga over it being the same porcelain as a set of Mrs. W's plates. Who knows anymore. I don't really care anymore. Presently I have a few crafts going. I dye/spin/design fancy yarns from every kind of animal stuff. I've been doing pretty well with it. I am a lampworker...I make glass beads...am getting better and better at it all the time. I have an oxygen and propane tank in my shed...and a kiln....I'm trying to master fish and chachooly shells. I was making jewelry but my fingers are numb now, and I can't really manipulate the needles anymore. We'll let someone else do that. I weave too....shawls...and have recently gotten into felting. I'm not sure if my "pixies" are on my website yet. I just started doing mermaids which are turning out fabulous! I also have a garden in which I grow dyestuffs. This past fall I have dyed gorgeous colors from my flowers...marigolds, queen anne's lace, indigo...I also pillage flowers from town. I dye cranberries too....got 500 pounds of them in front of my house waiting to be processed. I have no room to do much else. I'm so crowded I can hardly think!!! In April I'm backpacking New Zealand, and I dread all the fleeces I'm gonna have then!!! oy vey. I do other stuff, but, presently, this is what I'm into.
