  13. If I were a meteorologist and had naming hurricane clout, this is what I'd do. After the first 26 hurricanes ranging from A-Z...starting with the 27th hurricane, there would have to be 2 of the same letters in the name... ie. Aaron 27th Bebe 28th Cecil 29th Didi 30th Eeyore 31st Fifi 32nd... etc. Wanna play? ;)-->

Hey Outin.... I'm still here!!!! Can't seem to get my butt up to Vermont, but, not sure it's the wisest thing to do. Looking forward to seeing you too. :)-->
  17. I have made 2 purchases on ebay, and both were crap. I returned them with no problem, and no hassles getting the cash back. I've never used ebay again, and probably never will.
  18. Well, good morning everyone!!! I finally got back to this thread!!! Whoooooosh!!!!! OK...I figured out (it wasn't hard) the "gossip" here...my prayers to you both and your situations. I think you are ALL RIGHT!!!!!! I've been married, divorced, dated, yada yada yada. I am 50 now...and although I get lonely at times, and sometimes alot... ...God would have to shine a spotlight on the guy and strike the chorus for me to ever date/marry/live in again. Perhaps I'm too independent, or perhaps I have an ideal life. The quality of my life is priceless... The expectations of men is that I will stop living my life, turn to them and conform to what they need me to do/be, yada yada. I'm not so sure I am willing anymore. I'm not so sure the returns are worth it... And, being burned more times than the average person, I'm not willing to go for round 9!!! I love my house, my job...I love where I live...I love all my hobbies...I get enough positive feedback to keep me going... I know very few women that are happy and fulfilled in their marriage. Not to say there aren't any...but when you get them vulnerable to their core many wouldn't do it all over again. I think the saddest and most heart wrenching thing is that couples think they should stick it out til the kids get through high school. I've seen far too many "displaced" kids with no home to come to during college breaks. It really gets my goat. These kids become lost...There isn't the bedroom they had growing up to revisit when the world turns their lives topsy turvy. My parents stuck it out...and altho they really shouldn't have, I'm glad they did. When my life gets tossed and turned, I go visit my family home to replenish. I couldn't imagine not having that. Perhaps I'm too picky, perhaps I'm too smart... My last boyfriend was 14 years younger than I... that was fun :)--> but I'm starting to nestle in, and try to prepare for my retirement and the next phase of my life. btw...I know plenty of over 50 men who leave their wives!!! Sometimes it's mid-life, sometimes it's the newly found independence of their wives after the kids have left the nest. Just some of my thoughts this morning...
  19. Yeah, Shaz...I was thinking of letting Mass. pick up the tab for me. I just can't afford it, with prices soaring everywhere!!! Problem is, is, I own my house, and have a piddly little IRA, so wonder if they'll have mercy on me. I couldn't imagine paying the exhorberant rents people pay. A little studio apartment here is $900 and a one bedroom $1100 and more!!! How do people do it? Because I am established, it is actually cheaper for me to live here (one of the most expensive places in the country) than to move to Vermont- if you can believe that!!!! I can still get dinner for $2.50 a pop, and know all the people around to get the bargains. ...And even with this, I can't rangle up enough money to pay my health insurance premiums. It's a sad day in this country... :(-->
  20. LindaZ...where's the "best location in the nation"????? :)-->
  21. I've heard that too, Linda...I've heard both sides. I haven't yet needed a major thing (knock on wood!!!)...(in the old days I woulda said "praise god".... ;)--> ) Well...last year I paid $4600...that's for an $1800 deductible for hospitalization. It doesn't cover jack squat for any doctors' visits...I pay that in full... That $4600 covered my dental tho. What it includes ( @$800) is 2 cleanings, x-rays, 80% for cavities, and 2 half crowns (i.e. one) a year. That paid for itself for me and more, as my teeth are my biggest problem. It also saved to overall of $160 on my glasses visit and prescription. (that was about $40 on the rider). Because I paid the full bill in August, I actually got a month free (well, not free, but, that's what they deduct for paying it all at once, and since I have bundles in August, I opted to do that). Like I said, business is terrible this year...and I doubt I will be able to afford an extra $400 a month all year...so will have to can it. I guess it's better than nothing, but, I think I would get "free care" around here much easier without it. Oh...NASE also pays for 50% off all prescriptions. It's not the greatest by far, but, hopefully, it will pay if I get cancer or something. I hope this helps.
  22. I have NASE. If you wanna know the details, let me know...I'll write 'em all out here. I have a vision rider on it, and a dental rider on it. I won't have it tho, after this September, as I didn't make enough money this year to afford it, and can't project I'll make the money this winter... :(--> Oh well...

Hey Outin88!!! --> I found another, more awesome house in Vermont, but bid too low and lost it. That was in March and I'm still mourning it :(--> I hope you can get up here by September...the Common Ground Fair is heaps of fun. I hang at the Wednesday Spinners' tent...I get in free and this year will try to sell my stuff too. I've been dyeing cranberries down here, and just made a ton of money over the past week selling "cape cod cranberry yarn"... :)--> Innovative. Can't wait to see you. Whatcha gonna do in Maine? Where are your folks and siblings now?
