Mark, as a Lutheran, I have respected Popes John 23rd, John Paul 2nd and Benedict 16th. I wish Vatican
II had been the church council at the time of the Reformation. Then Lutheranism would have been like
Franciscans or like the Eastern Orthodox tradition.

As a postscript(which got omited yesterday for some odd reason), I am familar with HS books by Smith Wigglesworth, Lester Sumerall, Albert Benjamin Simpson, Ruben Archer Torrey, Sam Storms, David Ireland,
Watchman Nee, Ethelbert Bullinger, Edward William Kenyon, Jack Edwin Stiles, Brian George Leonard, and Dennis Bennett, just to name a few.

You are entering the TWITlite zone. Was Rod Serling really VPW?
-
OM, I agree and it was David Koresh who committed it.
-
Come on ww, tell us what you really think. Don't hold anything back.
-
OM, you do have a sense of humor. Maybe there is hope for you yet.

Ricky, welcome to GSC. Belle will be along with a danish(personally, I prefer Swedes) and Raf will bring the coffee. Do you like decaf or one of those international flavors? For the most part, we are pretty congenial
and check out the forums and archieves.

We are getting ready for the Holy Spirit weekend here at church, and while discussions do include SIT, we don't make mandatory for anyone to do so. If anyone wishes to speak in tongues, we suggest they do it at home as part of their private prayer and devotional life. By the Way(no pun intended), I have several different books on the Holy Spirit field, beyond Wierwille and Hendricks, that are very interesting readings.

You mean "cornball" wizard. Why do I get the feeling we were living in Oz/Fantasy Island with MR. Rourke and Tatto(VPW & LCM)/Nevernever land?

I admit it was Miss Ellie who shot JR, oops wrong soap opera. bwahahahhehe. Sorry, I just had to add a little levity. Seriously, when you consider that papa Ernst also smoked and was an alcoholic who abused and battered his wife Emma and the kids(Otto, Sevillia, Lydia, Harry, Ruben, and Victor-what a dysfunctional family) and died from cancer as did Harry and Ruben. Well you can't go beyond what you are taught.

Sunny, welcome to GSC and order some pancakes with syrup. I live in Hickory, which is 45 miles NW of Charlotte, 75 miles east of Asheville(home of Biltmore Estate), in the foothills of the Blue Ridge on the Catawba River(actually live 2 miles from river) near Lenoir-Rhyne College(also 2 miles away). We tolerate Mike, Allan, and Oldiesman, although they sound like a broken record, but they still are children of God and
brothers in Christ Jesus. You may want to check out my thread on hymnals and vote in the poll. How about some OJ with your other drinks? Agape. Thomas

Also, anyone know the whereabouts of Wayne Duckworth? Rob Lucadoo is no longer associated with TWI,
although Mike T*mb*rl*n saw him this past summer. Ron Scupping is working in Charlotte for INSP Network.

PS, The first catergory includes Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Reformed/UCC,
and Moravian. 2nd includes Adventist, Jehovah Witness, Plymouth Brethern. 3rd includes Unity, Unitarian,
Scientology, and Latter Day Saints/Mormons. Just wanted to clarify the various groups.

Although I answered Mark personally, I also like plainsong, Anglican, and Russian Orthodox chant, plus Taize
and psalm tones from Lutheran, Episcopalian, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, and UCC(New Centuary Hymnal). We also do Stations of the Cross, Tenebrae, and Lessons and Carols. Still haven't heard from Temple Lady(Mormon/LDS), Goey(JW), or Mark, Allan, Oldiesman, Mister Hamoroni, Belle, Rascal, Robes,
Ted Ferrell, Dean Ellenwood, Cliff Adelman, Milford Bowen, Walter Cummins, Peter Wade, John Lynn, John Schoenheit, Paolo Emilio Dionisio, Ralph Graham, Ralph Dubofsky, Joe Fair, Wayne Clapp, John Shroyer, Rochelle and Mary Ann Hendricks, Stevie Kay, Helen Sudduth, Kevin and Sara Gigou, Harve or even Rosie. Come on guys, I promise to give you this time a fair shake and will allow you to have the last word.

To paraphrase Elmer Fudd,"Shhh, be vewy, vewy quiet. I'm huntin WOWS, hehehe! oh , that wascally wosie wienvenbawk"..

Mark, although I pm'ed you, thanks for your input. In our traditional services we use plainsong, germanic chorales, Scandinavian and Baltic hymnody, Anglican chant and British folk hymns, Sacred Harp shaped hymns, Moravian, Taize, psalm tones, Eastern Orthodox chant, Gospel songs, Negro spirituals, Native Asian,
African, hispanic/Carribean. Our Contemporary Ensemble has guitars, drumset/percussion, keyboards,
trumpets, saxes, flute, harmonica, and autoharp, as well as mandolin.

Belle, don't know if TWI or Rosie will answer or not. Supposedly Craig is self-supporting himself, whether he and Donna are divorced or not and doing childcare support for his kids, well I haven't heard and don't know if ww or Ham knows either. Moving Robert Moniham(?) to England and move Harve to limb leader from his exalted position, and adding 3 vice-presidents makes it seem like they are circling the wagons from the Indian/press attack. We all assume that Donna is living and sleeping with Rosie, but can't prove that.

Still looking fro Patricia(Pat)Fetner-I don't know her married name, Plus Ellie Ray and Vicki Allen, Bill and Ginny Kirk Fletcher, Cathy Sue Luciana Johnson(?), Steve McGee, Steve Bolick, and others who lived in Morganton/Hickory/Lenoir/Boone during the 70's. Pat was from Sanford, had twin sister Linda(who I am told lives in Charlotte), ECU grad, and married her twig leader(I had a big crush on her when we met for NCWOW
in summer of 1976). Any one know these people?
-
Is no one interested? BTW, was there ever a music notation version of Sing Along The Way published and does anyone have a copy?
-
Harve was made area/limb leader for Ohio and proably for his callous letter to John Paul about his mother andher condition which caused a lot of furror publicly.

Sorry! Question is what hymnal or songbook do you use(that is if you use one) and what structured
formats or outline/elements in worship? By the way(pun intended), I am a member of The Hymn Society of the US and Canada and I have almost every hymnal of 20th and 21st Cent. including ecumenical/non-denominational hymnals like Hymns For the Family of God = Jeffery Bryan Leech and Fred Bock from Paragon Press in Nashville; Celebration Hymnal by Word and Integrity; Worship and Rejoice from Hope Publishing, Carol Stream , Ill. Mark, this also includes you if interested. Wayne and John, Rochelle, Peter W,
Walter, Chris G, etc.
-
Eek! Excathedra, is that your photo? It looked like Rosie from TWI, or was that your halloween mask?hehehe!
-
Maybe I can start a thread for all former TWI members. I'll begin with myself and church. I serve a ELCA congregation that uses the following hymnals for worship : 1958 Service Book and Hymnal(red), 1978 Lutheran Book of Worship(green), Hymnal Supplement 1991(maroon/burgundy), 1995 With One Voice(blue),
and 2003 Renewing Worship songbook(rainbow multi-colored) for traditional liturgical worship(Matins, Eurcharist, Vespers, Compline, Baptism, Marriage, Burial, Ordination, Healing, Church dedication). For Contemporary, we use music from Hillsongs, Casting Crowns, Newsboys, Sonic Flood, Delirious, Marty Haugen, David Haas, Integrity, Maranatha, Vineyard. So, now answer the poll I have posted and this includes
Christian Research Fellowship, CFF, Another Way Ministries, Spirit and Truth Fellowship/CES, TWI-1(Galen's
group), Living Epistle Society, and yes, even The Way International(Rosie and the gang at New Knoxville).
Don't feel shy, any takers like Temple Lady, Goey, Mike, Allan, OM< Ham, George, RAF, David, etc?

I am not ordained but instead am commissioned/licensed/certified Associate in Ministry(AIM) in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, formerly called Lay Professional leader/Church Worker Staff as Organist/Director of Music/ parish Cantor/liturgical deacon. LOL, talk about titles. Actually, both potential clergy as well as full-time church musicians and theologians/Christian Ed. must fill out a biographical profile
and explain why they feel "called" to serve full-time in the church, then they must meet several times with a
synodical(similar to a diocese) preparation committee and have a psychological evaluation before entering seminary or graduate school. Finally they must type an annual report to the local congregation, with copies
going to the state synod(Salisbury,NC) and the national HQ in Chicago, Ill. God, I hope TWI isn't thinking along these lines.
