1) YES. 2) NO... just an observation. People have left before, those who feel a need to leave... leave. Those who are looking for something (perhaps sympathy?) set up some drama. No big deal either way... AND this thread really should NOT be about me... WeOUT and Dooj...

btw, correction: vinegar IS added, by way of adding Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce (milder than the red) to taste. That also adds some salt.

Who's gonna moon whom? I'll bring some homemade salsa if someone wants to bring chips or anything else that might go well with homemade salsa. (I just posted my recipe on the Food in your Region thread in the kitchen forum).

Well, I live in the great American Southwest (Arizona). Mexican food is one of the big regional things here. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a KitchenAide food chopper. I had seen the guy on the food channel who does the Easy Entertaining show using one. It's not motorized. It only holds about a cup of stuff to chop or have been chopped at a time. Basically, it's spring loaded, rotates as you punch it down repeatedly, and chops veggies, herbs and nuts (probably other stuff too, but I've only done veggies and herbs so far. I wanted to be able to easily chop onions and garlic, both of which I love very much. Well, I started making a homemade salsa that has been really good... well, I like it anyway. I first clean and get the stuff ready to chop (peel onions, etc.) For this salsa, I use Onion Tomato Garlic (raw or roasted) Cilantro and can use a variety of fresh peppers. So far, I've tried fresh, raw jalapeno (without the seeds) and roasted pablano (also without the seeds). When I'm cooking in the oven or on my outdoor grill, I like to roast bell and pablanos peppers. After chopping each of the ingredients listed already, I mix them together (experimenting with proportions) and add lime and/or lemon juice (freshly squeezed), grind a little bit of sea salt into it, add some chili powder and a few grinds of fresh cracked pepper (this from a grinder container made by McCormick spices containing several varieties, like black and white peppercorns, coriander and a couple of other things I forget which now). After I mix it all (and of course, sample the taste), I put it in a sealed container and let it sit in the fridge for a while (to let the flavors mingle and mix). It's REALLY good... I might have to make a habit of it. Of course, it's a fat free concoction, and low sodium (I hope). A very tasty way to get your daily servings of vegetables.

Dooj, I agree with you on the concern for the voyeuristic nature of this kind of news... but it doesn't come from Hollywood, per se. This is a by-product of a news culture with its priorities totally screwed up. The cause of the news culture problem? Probably due to inordinate emphasis on the need to turn a profit. That skews news judgement and important news, that which explains what is really going on in the Halls of Power (figure of speech), is trivialized by diminished coverage, just as voyeuristic coverage of Smith's death AND Lisa Nowak's meltdown (which has both legitimate and voyeuristic aspects to it) are trivialized by virtue of the coverage being elevated above things that should be covered or covered better.

Indeed... it IS time for baseball to get started! Question for you Hiway... don't you think it makes sense for the Dodgers to train in AZ instead of FL? What are your thoughts?
-
Would that be the "Church of the 18 Links" ? Weather's been great in Cactus League land all this week... maybe some rain early next week, but clearing by the time training camps open up (next Friday, noon MST for the Dbacks in Tucson).

Of course, IF Jonny needs (or needed) to leave, why all the drama? If he (or someone) doesn't want to be here... why not just NOT show up? IF he (or anyone) has friends here and feels a connection, then maybe leaving is NOT the real need...

Pretty intriguing last episode for Mike Keppler, eh?
-
Indeed, who wouldn't be? btw, I heard on the TV news that the coroner will release autopsy results quickly, IF her death was from natural causes.
-
and both were pop culture icons... doesn't change the tragedy. I'm sad, but not as sad as when someone closer to me has died... I was much more sad when we heard about LG.
-
That's my understanding too. Start time in MST is in about 1 1/2 hours from now... Then Shark... James Woods is pretty good in that one.

Back in the day...(when I was married... before 1994), which obviously was before 9/11... we (yes, with my now ex-wife, a couple of times) enjoyed a late evening tryst on an upper floor of a parking garage (outside the car) at Phoenix Sky Harbor... :D tremendous fun... easy to get isolated where no one else was around. I seriously doubt that would be a good idea anymore. I agree 100%

Actually, the high here was about 85F today... VERY nice!
-
Appropriate according to whom? btw, I still think it might be fun to tell each other where the funniest/strangest/wierdest place we've ever done it... but since we don't have access controls like on cable/satellite tv, it's probably not a good idea. :D

Here in the winter (spring) home of the SF Giants, even the weather's feeling like it's time to begin Spring Training! Mid-70s and clear skies today! Okay, men.... put your lockers in order, weigh in, then begin your stretching exersizes and first day ball toss, in about an hour, we'll meet on the field to begin drills!

Ok, I did some research. It seems my memory WAS indeed too hazy. :o In 1988, Williams threw 4TD passes and the Redskins came from a 10-0 deficit in the 1st quarter to win 42-10. So, it seems Nance was probably correct. So... never mind my previous post.

All in all, given the substantial rain throughout the game, I'd say it wasn't as bad a game as many Super Bowl's have been. I don't know if anyone else heard this, but as the were going to a commercial, around the end of the 3rd or beginning of the 4th quarter Jim Nantz made an apparently insane and (I think) definitely wrong claim -- that no team (in a Super Bowl) had ever gone on to win after trailing by 12 points, as the Bears were at the time. I didn't look it up (yet), but I have a vague recollection of the Redskins' Doug Williams coming from (farther) behind the year Williams threw 5 TD passes in the game... Of course, it's possible my memory was TOO vague, and therefore, I may be incorrect. Anyone know?

King Pharmaceuticals Next year, the Arizona Cardinals will be the home team and represent the NFC. (Game to be played at U of P Stadium in Glendale, AZ) ...said with a straight face... but started laughing as soon as the post posted! (location is correct, however)
