  1. When I add your posts together the solution is mathematically exact. Like a duck. Ducks don't REALLY wear gloves. This is just a tremendous kernel. Mmmph. But I still can't find excellor in any dictionary.
  2. Can the GP and the story of the 1942 promise both be true? It seems the 1942 promise violates the GP. The 1942 promise is a fives-senses, natural, old-man experience -- "...audibly, just like I'm talking to you..." The 1942 promise relies on one's own understanding. Does this glove fit? I guess that wasn't REALLY God talking to victor.
  3. A.A. Twelve Steps step 4-10. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
  4. Were the lockbox and the little secrets used as leverage when enforcing loyalty? Was it a kind of dangling shame as leverage for blackmail and compliance? I may be misremembering the timeline, but it seems like the big push for the personal, private inventories came at a time when cracks started to appear in the levee, when factions of CORPS started leaving, when victor first began to realize he might be too far out over his skis. Am I off track?
  5. Is that all you have to do? What is the Hebrew or Aramaic word for sin?
  6. Asserted claims and fantastical musings pop up in many places in many books and many classes. Sometimes, errors occur only once in books and classes.
  7. Mathematical exactness is a figger of speech. God's math is never REALLY exact. God can't do exact math. Not REALLY. Spiritual math is not something to be understood by five-senses sense. It's a postulated axiomaton. Ask Mike.
  8. It won't if you rely on your own understanding.
  9. Wait.... WHAT? Doesn't the Way International, INC. have a similarly named campaign?
  10. Even Mike admits that God couldn't have REALLY given victor a promise audible to his natural ears. And in 1942 victor had yet to learn his lo shontas -- SIT are a prerequisite to revelation, right? Yeah, even according to Mike's "logic" it didn't happen.
  11. Hunt Close, yes. But wasn’t there another book about how to raise a child? Maybe I’m misremembering. Got to renew my mind…..
  12. I'm so sick of this. My ex-wife used the wooden spoon to discipline our son when he was very little - under five. I only remember her using it two or three times, but she carried one in her purse and one in her car as preemptive threats. (I think I've suppressed a lot of these memories.) I know she was taught this by the FC and his wife. They had that book. What was it? How to Train Up a Child Like a Dog? I know we argued about this abusive tactic. Once, she's handed me the spoon and instructed me to use it on my precious son. I put it down and refused. My refusal was revealed to her Way family. It cost me lots of "teachings." Fvck these people and the trash man who taught them.
  13. This is the pat cop out for wierwille apologists. This was the same excuse offered by my FC when I inquired into the plagiarism. The argument is a red herring of sorts. It's a distraction. A deflection. It is designed to obfuscate the issue. If it's accurate, if it's true, what does it matter? 1) It literally matters EVERYTHING. It's about a man's integrity. His honesty. The INTEGRITY of a man who claims to teach the truth. A liar is teaching the truth? This doesn't matter? Why do you think it's the truth? Oooooooohhhhh.... right, the liar said so... 2) His teachings are false. He even plagiarized falsehoods and inaccuracies. Four crucified is one of HUNDREDS of inaccuracies he taught - a plagiarized inaccuracy. If he taught anything that is true and accurate, it had already been taught by others for thousands of years. If it hadn't been TAUGHT by others, it had been KNOWN by others. Find out for yourself.
  14. A trauma-triggered flashback... The three younger members of my fellowship mockingly snickered when pronouncing Jesus's name. They called him Jay-EEE-zuss. Of course, this was acceptable because Jesus was but a mere bastard Jew. They were "rightly dividing" whatever they were taught by their man of god, the FC, who stood smugly on the shoulders of victor paul wierwille. I'm not making this up. This is NOT a joke.
  15. I don't own the clothes I'm wearing And the road goes on forever And I've got one more silver dollar But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no
  16. I don't own the clothes I'm wearing And the road goes on forever
  17. My memory and text messages say the same. My FC said TWI/PFAL/VPW is not a religion. He said he did not consider himself a Christian nor self identify as religious. I asked, "What is religion?" He answered, "Man made." ** I rest my case.
  18. Maybe. But the same could be suggested for other current topics. It's not really doctrinal, it's technical, academic. It's about the Bible, which TWI claims to know better than anyone since the first century. It's about free, critical thought -- a theme running through several currently active threads in this forum. This podcast shows what one can learn when one chooses to go beyond what one is taught in PFAL. It deals with how translators work, how language changes, what textual criticism actually is. These are issues victor paul wierwille was afraid to address because of his ignorance. At least one sycophantic poster here is still very confused about these issues. I don't think the Way International, Inc. or victor paul wierwille would want anyone to listen to such a podcast. Why wouldn't they? Devil spirits? If you feel it's not relevant to this forum, make an appeal to a mod. It won't hurt my feelings.
  19. This was a very quick 59:10 minutes! A fascinating discussion on how Bible translations come to be. (Hint: selling copies is not a factor, as victor paul wierwille claimed.) Plus, hapax legomenon. I'm sure many here who study the Greek NT already know what this means, but for those who don't... listen to the pod.
  20. Right. I recognize the metaphor and the parody... was just trying to beleeeeve for a bit of realism.... guess I just can't beleeeve big enough....
  21. Serious question: Did Mrs. W. really cook fried chicken, biscuits and fried apple pie? Was she Southern?
