  2. Same thing with pokemon cards--i remember hearing how bad they were--little pocket debil spirits ya know. Then the LC's kid started playing with them...
  3. I remember over twelve years ago hearing about staff people who were refusing to allow their kids to go to the Holocaust museum for some Wash DC trip the kids were going on. I have no idea if they got out of that part and what reasons they told the school
  4. I was thinking tonight how the way discouraged (strongly) any outside books or music. It's ironic that if things were purely worldly it would be more acceptable than reading other teachers/preachers books, listening to their teachings and listening to Christian music(a term disdained in the way) Of all the things that helped me the most, it was the Christian music station. most of their songs focused on God and Jesus Christ--not the self-centered stuff way productions normally sings.
  5. Belle, Do you think your ex still feels like a failure because of rotten treatment from J*net M and others? It can motivate someone to do everything and anything they can to prove they are not weak. Gotta prove you are perfect after all. I wish I could scream to any innies out there that they need to talk to their families regardless of what any twit leader.... told them. I lost so much time trying to be good twiggie--I missed my siblings growing up. I am just now forming real relationships with them--20 years later

  10. I remember hearing that the 91 AC was really messed up--I didn't know it was because you decided to sing without a leader lol
  11. hmm is that why so many of the kids-from small to teens seemed to be so self centered and bossy? They were being taught by example that they could demand for God to do things for them so why not demand it from everyone else? And the universe centered around them too. That also could be why the adults seemed to have to work so much harder not to have bratty bossy kiddos.
  12. I should have left when the first interim corpse guy I ran into wanted to "jump in my pants" when I was teenager. He got quite disgusted when I said NO AND tried to use the Word to justify why it was ok.
  13. Have a happy happy birthday. {{{{sharon}}}}
  14. Tell Adrian to go home--it's too early!! I thought the official hurricane season started June 1!
  15. At one of our old apartments we had a bunch of grey squirrels and stray cats. I enjoyed watching the squirrels mess with the cats. They would purposely make the cats chase them, then run up the side of the building. Normally, more than 2 squirrels would be involved, each on either side of the cat. The cat would run back and forth, back and forth, between the buildings. lol
  16. OMG Shell!! Don't even get me started!
  17. If the computer is running, I will try to make it. I normally have a lot going on around 6pm on Saturday....please post some of the more interesting topics discussed!! :D-->

    The New Pope

John Hagee (i think thats his name) does lots of prophecy stuff. (which is probably all out of whack) but he was talking about the new pope being the 2nd to last one--i guess based on the Malachy guy. He has also said the Jews are starting to plan out re-building the temple.(Which i heard someone else say too.) Anyway, this new pope gives me the heebee jeebees. But, at least you can e-mail him from the vatican's website--better than twit's website. No e-mail available there.

    The New Pope

Not too encouraging to me either...when John Paul II passed away the religious commentators for vatican city were saying that the new pope's name would say a lot. If he had went with Paul/John or John Paul he would have been making a statement that he intended to do a lot of what JP II did. The fact he chose something so different indicates he doesnt intend to follow JP II's example
  21. I have caught little bits of it. Those bits have been interesting. I don't think I could watch an entire episode of it though. I think the part I caught last week had the guy from Exodus Int'l misquoting a scripture as being from Galatians when it was from another epistle.
  22. Mr H and others, Thanks for the input. I agree that "love your neighbor" has to be a part of Christ's doctrine. Remember when loyboy started defining "neighbor" as someone who was in twit world ONLY? I don't think there was any true love left by the 90's. It was all conditional. So, between that policy and loy's "designer causes"(all charities are worthless-give to twi only) thing, there was no giving to help anyone.
  23. Hi all. I was reading the deceptions thread in here and read 2 Jn 9. The phrase, "Christ's doctrine" got my attn. twit taught that what was in the Gospels was for our learning. But what other doctrine would Christ have besides what is recorded in the Gospels? (Except for a few quotes in Acts) What would you all define as Christ's doctrine? Wasn't sure if I should put this here or in "about the way."
  24. "I agree! Now a lot of churches do the small group thing"TWI IS obsolete!
  25. Congrats to all!! lots of love too! Enjoy the new little blessing
