  1. I think song was refering to JC saying that even if you looked at another's spouse with lust that you have already sinned. That gives me heebie jeebies cuz of what lcm did with that verse--sexual fantasies are wrong--and how that was used during the homo hunts to m&a people. Then my question is: if someone goes on-line and looks at the porn sites and gets off on it--is that considered adultry as well?
  2. I saw Oral Roberts on tbn last night talking with Benny Hinn. He was talking about the same thing. I ended up turning it off after 5 minutes and going to sleep!
  3. Hi jet! I believe johniam is in st louis area. He's mentioned several different groups i think. There are a few people in the KC area too, but I don't know who they fellowship with.
  4. If these guys were to come up to me on the street I don't think I would appreciate it--and I would feel VERY put on the spot. I don't like the condemnation part. It may have worked on me before twi. The part I find interesting is that they believe that those of us who just did the "formula" of sinners prayer or Romans 10, without real understanding and thinking through of why we needed redeemed to begin with, actually need to take it a step further in order to truly change our lifestyles and live for God. That's how they explain all these people who say they are Christian but don't live like it--they had a "false" conversion.
  5. What I have seen is that they do "interviews" with people and ask if they think they are a good person. Then they will ask if that individual has ever told a lie, and if so, what does that make them.(liar) Then they may ask a few more questions like, "have you ever stolen something"-even office supplies from work, and then ask, what does that make you?(thief) I don't know if I agree with their method, but essentially what they are doing is having each individual search themselves to realize where they stand. Supposedly they are not affiliated with a particular church, they only offer tools (which of course can be purchased) to witness to others. They still say salvation is by grace, just that a true christian will realize why he needs Jesus Christ as Lord, how Jesus paid their "fine" for their wrongdoings, and then genuine works, especially evangelizing, will follow in that person's life. Just a different perspective I have not seen before. Their website is www.thewayofthemaster.org.
  6. Last night I was flipping channels and found on TBN Kirk Cameron pushing this thing called "biblical evangelism". I guess he has a ministry with some other guy called the "way of the master". From what I gather, he believes people can say Jesus is Lord, but not truly be born again/saved. I agree a sinners prayer doesn't cut it, but he also thinks that Romans 10:9-10 alone doesn't do it. He believes people have to be shown how they individually are a sinner and he uses the 10 commandments to do it. He claims people need to know why they need Jesus as their Lord, then they can really be changed. He was talking about a true conversion versus a false conversion. What say ye?
  7. Hi Roy Shouldn't we have a chief jester in the land of silly instead of a king? Just my thoughts
  8. Gee, this is mostly over my head so to speak. The one thought I had while reading this was, "No one ever EXPECTS the Inquisition!" -->
  9. I sponsored someone who did that bear lighter thing--they told me they got chewed out after they came back big time and then they got sent back out "to do it right"
  10. gee I was suspecting there would be more "action" over here......
  11. Hi John, I just want to express thanks for what your 3 books you wrote during twi did for me during the most difficult year of my life. I will be checking out the websites.
  12. I had relationships as a teen with believers and unbelievers alike. (I will not comment on how intimate we were-but that varied too.)
  13. Hey now. You know that the reporter from Sesame Street, Mr Smiley and John Kerry are twins separated at birth, right?
  14. I'm confused. Liar Liar do you think everyone is making this up? You must be in an offshoot or something if you actually live in St Louis..I know several years ago I heard all the innies left St Louis for different areas and that the entire city was shut down--I believe for the second time
  15. The new class was talked about on another thread Steve! said: "Here's the skewp: Living God's Word As A Family...taught by the Coulter's...requirement is Intermediate Class Grad...brief on class "young and old who are seeking to increase their understanding of God's beautiful design for their functions in the household." Does that help? Innies I know are not talking about class until more people take it or something. Smurfette out
  16. "I shoulda stayed out of that paper grocery bag.." OR "Next time I'll slow down around that corner"
  17. I suppose I needed to respond because I am a topic of this thread. I don't remember any teachings about smurfs----though I have had comments about them. Pokemon was one twi/lcm was really against for a while--"pocket monsters" ya know. But not everyone swallowed it hook line and sinker because I remember some of the leaderships' kids having the cards
  18. I will try to find that other thread. Thanks for some good info.
  19. For healing's sake, I was wondering how the rest of you would define the above terms. I have some decisions to make and need a clearer picture than I have right now due to previous years experience. My contribution would be that twi submitting is wife be quiet and do as told.
  20. WW, I think we were taught after we were saved that it was God's perogative on whether or not He would send one to help us in a situation. That whole teaching contradicted what a lot of other people were doing outside of wayworld like believing in and praying to their own angel. Wasn't there articles or a book or something put together? Smurfy
  21. I'm sure whatever help he provides down there, it is needed. My family used to sponsor children through Christian children's fund and 2 of them were from Belize. That was twenty years ago.
  22. Gee...I never had to give up any of my music. Some of the wierdest music I ever listened to was after twig at the coordinator's house. I remember corpse that couldn't bring it ("secular" music) with them in rez but most of them just left their stuff with someone else. I also remember lcm liked Metallica. (Why that's still in my brain I dont know!) I also had plenty of wc that liked lots of diff non twi music.
  23. Goey... I won't hold my breath either. I got the impression that they gave away all the old copies of PFAL.
