I'd never heard of this before. However, I think it's a good thing, The possibility of learning so many things for free online is, IMHO, one of the most fantastic things about the internet.

I heard some AWFUL reviews of both, so I'm not rushing to see either. I'll keep it in mind. But I doubt I'm going to think "Flash" when I see EM in the suit, rather than "what are you doing dressed up as Flash?"

BTW, I think Elongated Man/ Ralph Dibny was cast fantastically, and reminds me of the character despite the changes (annoying party animal). They gave me enough elements of the original to work with (appearance, detective, makes his nose twitch at a mystery.) I was glad that, post-Flashpoint- this victim of the STAR Labs particle accelerator explosion turned out alive again. (SPOILERS!!!!!) Nice how everybody got what they wanted. Those who wanted Titans and Doom Patrol, etc to remain apart, will still have that. (Mrs Wolf pointed out that Green Lantern has to be separate since there's so much space stuff, they would have problems including GL in any crossover. Yes, all the over-powered superheroes make the street-level heroes a little obsolete, especially during the big events. So, no GL on this united planet. We can still have Earths with only Superman, etc and so on, but the Arrowverse has now merged their series into one Earth. "Oh, it's like that, huh?" - my favorite Black Lighting line from the last CoIE episode.

"Barry Allen, you are the slowest man alive!" He used to be a methodical ballistics expert (like Bulletman). Now, I think he's CSI like on the show. After his powers, he was STILL late to dates with Iris! He was trying to do more, and still falling behind. To this day, I actually haven't seen ANY of EM's appearances as Flash, other than the CoIE cameo. I just don't sit to watch movies that often. "Suicide Squad" is on my list. The SvB and JLA movies I intend to keep skipping. I've skipped him in the Potterverse stuff because I've accepted that each fandom, if left running indefinitely, will leave me behind. Star Wars did it, Star Trek did it, Harry Potter did it. So, until now, I had no idea he was in either Potterverse movie. To me, he just looked completely wrong as Flash. He didn't remind me of any version of Flash I've known. He really did feel more to me like Gary from Legends of Tomorrow put on a Flash costume and was cosplaying. I didn't get the look OR the feel of Flash. (It's like Keanu as Constantine- doesn't look like him, doesn't act like him....) I'm considering watching Supergirl again. I lost interest when it felt like it was less story and more "let's see how much political stuff we can slip into this". I can't guarantee they won't drive me away again, much faster this time. I made it through most of the first Batwoman episode, but I really think they've made it more like a gimmick. As in "We know you'll watch this show because the title character is a lesbian, so we don't have to bother actually giving you the best story we can manage." Lacking confidence in RR as an actress doesn't help that, either. I've seen Christopher Lee in an absolute turkey, and he made it watchable. There's been story arcs in LoT that had gay elements, but in each case someone actually had a story in play at the time. I am not the target audience for Batwoman, nor am I the target audience for Supergirl. Perhaps one or more of the new shows will pull me in (Canaries, Superman and Lois, Stargirl). I know Titans and Doom Patrol are not, for other reasons (More darkness and angst, Jeeves!)

I really don't know a lot of Bond girl names. However, this many roles means she's probably not thought of as "a Bond girl", at least not primarily. That changes things. Prolific actress who was in a Bond movie. "HALLE BERRY"?

I saw "Red Heat" in the theater. I had a vague impression he might have been in "Curly Sue."

IT IS "KING RALPH." John Goodman, in the title role, opened relations (as the new King of England) with the King of Zambesi- who was new to international politics. He stopped the stuffy speeches, and took him to a pub to chat and play darts. After Ralph won, the other King challenged him to their version. One giant set of dart-boards with thrown spears later, the other king won also. Both monarch hit it off well, (This was useful later in negotiating jobs for British factory workers, since Zambesi was to begin importing cars and car parts.) When Ralph managed to get relieved by a more suitable English monarch, he remained Duke of York or something (and next in line of succession for the throne until someone else was born or something.) He got to step down and out of much of the spotlight, and enjoy himself a bit more. Over the closing credits, we got to see him recording "Duke of Earl". After his success with the King of Zambesi, Lord Percival Graves recommended he use his own style to liven up a large, formal British event. As a former lounge singer, he requested a piano (the harpischord is the closest they had), and sang and played "Good Golly, Miss Molly." It was a big gaffe- which Graves was counting on. Yes, the entire royal family was together for a group photo- and a tragic accident electrocuted ALL of them. A search for a surviving royal turned up Ralph Jones, a lounge singer in Las Vegas, a distant relation.

I'd think this was "The Bill Cosby Show", but BC's next show was the animated "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" His next LIVE show, "the Cosby Show", came about a decade after that started.

What I want is the name of the OLDER movie, the movie that may have inspired elements in the newer movies. A movie in the past decade featured a character named "Percival Graves." (I just found this out.) I immediately wondered if it was a reference to an earlier, completely-unrelated movie, which ALSO had a "Percival Graves" in it. In both movies, Percival Graves was a government functionary, and should not be trusted. In the earlier movie, that's made plainly obvious from his early appearances, as he goes on to be the villain of the piece- as much as there is one. He got busted for violations of "the Treason Act of 1702" for " interfering in the proper succession of a monarch." This movie also included the (made-up) African nation of Zambezi. (That's a river, but not a country any more than there is a country called "Nile" or "Amazon".) That seems to have inspired some more recent television show to use the same name for an African nation. Anyway, the original movie had Percival Graves and the nation of Zambezi. It also included what was possibly the most tragic photo-shoot in film history (at least, as far as scripted tragedies- no actors were harmed in the filming, but their characters were in trouble.) So, what movie was this? Not many films include a musical number on a harpsichord (cembalo), but this was one. It also included "Duke of Earl" sung on-camera. That was not the same scene- the harpsichord number was a Little Richard song played and sang on-camera (not by Little Richard.)

Ok, we just saw both parts in one sitting. I'm still digesting. I have to say, though, that I thought having "Marv" show up was a great idea. I'm also glad we didn't get the current "we live for angst!" Doom Patrol and Titans live shows stuck on the same Earth as the Super- buddies. I did appreciate appropriate use of background music where it was used, and J'onn saved us a LOT of time having discussions. Now that we had a chance to see GG and EM side by side, I hope someone tars and feathers whoever decided EM was a good choice. Frankly, he reminded me of Gary from the Time Bureau- for all the worst reasons. I hope that- sooner or later- DC gets a clue for their films and gives us a JLA that is at least as good as the Arrowverse has. Seriously- Guggenheim seems to have an idea of what the fans want- and it doesn't mean to lower the lights and raise the angst level. Was I the only one humming along with the music at the end? It was playing in my head before it began playing in the score.

I don't know "the Greatest Showman" by its English title. In fact, I barely know of it. (Mrs Wolf saw it, I think.) I keep thinking that Hugh Jackman was an odd choice for a musical, but it seemed to work for "LES MISERABLES." (aka "the wretched of the earth.")

I suspect so. With him in mind from the 5th movie listed, I THINK the war movie was the one he was in. I have a vague recollection of a trailer of him in a war movie, storming off to confront someone in a combat zone and start a fistfight. Is "Light of Day" the movie with Joan Jett opposite MJF? If so, it was an interesting casting choice because they were both the same height.

IIRC, he spent a few MINUTES out of 7 sessions of the CFS class that might be considered to cover adultery or fornication. There was I Corinthians 7:1 and 2, and I think that's about all he covered on the subject. He said the literal on "touch" in 7:1 meant "to help himself", so a man wasn't supposed to "help himself" to a woman. He also mentioned "flee fornication." ( I Corinthians 6:18a) , but he didn't get into it. He talked about someone drawing a picture of Tick (the dog), with a flea on his head, with the caption "flea fornication." He didn't actually teach we were supposed to FLEE fornication, but he had time to describe the drawing in detail. For a class that was 7 sessions long, the number of verses covered was scant, and the actual hand-out of verses was 2 pages long. I've heard there was some teacher's guide with more verses, but I've never seen one. All the students got was 2 pages- one on the virtuous woman and a chapter in Proverbs, and the other on vpw claiming that the "original sin" was an act of, ahem, "self-love" (or "self-abuse" if that's how you think of it.) The classes that everyone was expected to take were the BAIT, so they never outright stated his most perverse stuff- he saved that for private meetings on-campus to the Corps, to the staff, and so on. Taped sermons touched on them sometimes, but generally not to any great degree.
