  1. Judges? Well, technically, you didn't give the right answer, but I'll give it to you anyway. The show was "YOUNG SHELDON." The ended series was BBT. Season 2 ended with Sheldon feeling like he'd be forever alone, without people. Then we saw a brief montage of the BBT gang at that moment in their lives- Leonard awake and following the Nobel broadcast also ("Leonard, dear, you should be in bed.") Penny asleep with the softball gear in her room and "Penny" on the wall for the slow people, Raj awake with a telescope, reading, Howard in his old room, with a magic set in one corner, playing a SNES ("Howard, turn off that **** game and go to sleep!") Bernadette asleep with her pageant trophies and microscope, Amy reading "Little House on the Prairie" by flashlight. It was a nice way to end the season. This series does reshuffle some minor characters' names. Also, in BBT, Sheldon claimed once that he was sick in Germany (or Austria?) when his Mom returned home because the house had fallen off the wheels and she had to help Dad fix it- but in "Young Sheldon", they definitely lived in a house.
  2. They will probably START there, then migrate to other formats. First, they soak the public for the streaming service. Then, they license it to cable channels for a price, for those of us who won't pay for that, probably.
  3. TLC: One of the main reasons I suppose I balk at the reference to and use of "covenantal," is that I just don't see and am simply not convinced that during this day and time we are in any kind of "covenantal" relationship with God. Is there any evidence for it in any of Paul's writings? " The word "covenant" is used, in this context, in Galatians 3 and Hebrews 8. Both compare and contrast the "covenant" with Israel and the "covenant" with us. According to Hebrews 12:24, Jesus is its mediator. "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel." If you need me to, I'll paste all of Galatians 3 and Hebrews 8 as well.
  4. I think there's a fine, but critical distinction between "and the One Body includes members who were once Jew or Gentile, but now are neither" and "the One Body is composed of all the Jews and Gentiles." It sounded like you meant the latter, info, and my understanding is that the former happened. For the sake of discussion, supposing "dispensationalism" is correct, then I don't see the need for the Law "Administration" to be back. All those who number the dispensations say the next one follows. For vpw, the Grace whatever ends and abruptly the "Revealing" (apocalyptic) one steps in. Bullinger said the same thing, only numbering "Grace" as 4th because vpw claimed Christ's physical ministry of 1 year was an "administration" (I thought Jesus said otherwise, when he mentioned the jots and tittles.) If "covenantal" is correct, then the covenant "of Grace" ends when the people of that covenant all leave. It's still in effect- it's just with them. The previous covenant, of the Mosaic Law, was still in effect and has still been in effect- for Israel. And another covenant will come into play once the "Grace" covenant has left Earth.
  5. At least 2 characters that have appeared in this series have had some name shuffles. Jeff Hodgkins became Jeff Difford. Roy Farrow became Wayne Farrow. We were also previously told someone lived in a trailer, but they rather obviously live in a house. Elon Musk appeared as himself. One season's finale included a VERY noticeable nod to a then-ended series. I appreciated that the props department included a Super Nintendo controller, Mrs Wolf appreciated that they duplicated a piece of the set.
  6. I think everybody thought they phoned in "Muppets in Space." I didn't see MCC nor MTI. Apparently I should check out MCC. I thought the Muppets Take Manhattan was nice, but I didn't think it measured up to the first 2. I would still sit down to watch it, I just didn't think it needed recommending.
  7. I'll take that as close enough, and CORRECT. This was "THE MUPPETS." There have been a number of movies with the Muppets. I would say that the first two - "The Muppet Movie" and "the Great Muppet Caper" were fun to watch, as was "The Muppets",, and I would recommend TMM and TM to anyone, preferably to watch in that order, since TM references TMM a number of times (the contract, "Jack", Kermit mentioning the other movie in passing....) In the first one, we get the Muppets arriving for a private screening of their movie, a version of how they got together, "sorta approximately." Their movie opened with Kermit sitting on the log, playing the banjo and singing "the Rainbow Connection." Towards the end of the sequel, Kermit and Miss Piggy sing it- and the other Muppets join them onstage. A lot of parents in the audience, who saw the first movie as children, got misty-eyed during the song (either when it began, or when the other Muppets joined them, or when the drumming joined in.) Both movies were musicals, but Andy Williams wrote some original songs for the former which were perfect for it, including "the Rainbow Connection." IMHO, "The Muppets" was done by people who knew and actually cared about the Muppets as well as The Muppet Movie. I've heard nothing about "Muppets Most Wanted" to suggest the same was true of that one. However, TMM and TGMC were done by Jim Henson's team, so they obviously cared. "The Muppets" proved it didn't HAVE to include Jim Henson to have the old magic (although it's not that easy to make a Muppet movie without him and capture the magic.)
  8. dmiller posted here about Leonard's account. According to Leonard, vpw came up to take BGL's class one time. Then vpw requested permission to teach BGL's class locally on a one-time basis. Leonard consented. He was told the class went off and was sent a photo of the graduates. That's the last he was told. What Leonard found out LATER was that vpw left out that the class was Leonard's. He taught it entirely as his own class. That was why the original classes had no syllabus. vpw would have had to refrain from the printed syllabus of "Gifts of the Holy Spirit" and get around to retyping it as the syllabus of "Receiving the Holy Spirit Today." vpw continued to teach that class. Later, vpw added Stiles' book "Gifts of the Spirit" to Sessions 9-12, retyped Stiles' textbook as the White Book, and added the contents of Bullinger's book on the holy spirit (to the White Book and 9-12) and "How to Enjoy the Bible" (which became Sessions 5-8). As he added material, he also split off the Intermediate Class from the other material (first as the "TIP" class for "Tongues Interpretation and Prophecy", then stretched out as the full Intermediate class. The classes were amalgams of the material of others, rearranged and occasionally reworded so they sounded less like the authors.

  10. Mickey Rooney....... Dave Grohl....... Judd Hirsch...... Neil Patrick Harris....... Selena Gomez....... Whoopi Goldberg....... James Carville...... Emily Blunt....... Donald Glover...... Jerry Nelson Mrs Wolf later said that the point where the stage lights went dark should have coincided with Wayne and Wanda taking the stage. She was right, but very few people would have gotten the joke, although I would have fallen out of my chair. It should surprise no one that this movie was a musical. It also references the first movie (and ignores all the others, obviously.) This movie represented the international standardizing of the names of these characters. Now, they all have their original English names, so Rene, for example, isn't Rene anymore. I realized that when I saw the promotional posters go up, with the names I recognized. Correction: In Spain, he was still "Gustavo." The songs in this movie's soundtrack include "Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard," "Smells Like Teen Spirit", Gary Numan's "Cars", AC/DC's "Back in Black", "Bad to the Bone", "(I'v e Had the) Time of My Life", and Starship's "We Built This City". The role of Tex Richman was originally written for Alan Rickman. The moment in a Google office was filmed in an actual Google office in Zurich, at least as of the filming. The auto being worked on in the children's classroom was a British "Morris Minor." I'll have to play the DVD again, since I've wondered what they look like. (Black 47 mentioned that model in their breakout song "Funky Ceily" and I've never known what they looked like.) Courtney Love was outraged about the way "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was sung and played. Dave Grohl was happy with it (and I was quite entertained.) Grohl probably heard about it before she did, since he was actually IN the movie. I have to admit, I would never have guessed this song would have ended up in this movie, not if given 100 guesses to name a song for the soundtrack. Towards the end, there was a musical number featuring a banjo. A lot of the audience started crying somewhere in the course of the song. Frank Oz refused to do this movie, and I think that was a shame. "Mahna, mahna."
  11. I don't recommend many movies. Once again, I recommend this movie.

  15. I'll offer a few of my own thoughts, and they can be taken or left, of course. I find that I understand God more as I spend more time as a parent. Keep an eye out, educate, instruct, warn- then watch as you're ignored and someone pays the consequences of ignoring. If there is a God, and if there is a Transcendent God, then His perspective is more long-term than my here-and-now perspective. Any veteran chess player can understand that thinking long-term is a key to winning consistently at chess. A chess master can think dozens of moves in advance. A Transcendent God could think millions of moves in advance, and incorporate "insignificant" events into later events a century later, a millenium later. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, and was thrown into jail as a slave for a crime he never committed, but for which he was wrongfully accused. This covered years of his life. Joseph later saw it and said that they meant it to him for evil, but God meant it for good, to save many people. (Joseph's time in prison led to him becoming Pharaohs Chief Executive Officer, which led to him saving much of Egypt and Israel, as well as others.) He never claimed God put him in prison or slavery, but he thought God meant all of that for good. I think he was correct in thinking that. So, even years in a life with no seeming guidance or blessings may be part of a bigger picture, and leading up to something major.
  16. No, and nobody who should remind you of him.

  18. The fighting is limited to what they can do with the actress. Street brawling is the default for the untrained, unskilled fighter. Preparing for a role like this with A martial art would have been smart. Too much work for the actress? Do I need to rush to catch up with BL or Supergirl because they're doing Crisis teasers already? If not, let me know when they do.
  19. We already had Supergirl doing that. Apparently, the new show has less story and more lecturing, and even the target audiences had enough. Or maybe it's because they got the wrong actress. She didn't look anything like Kate Kane. She's not known for being a good actress. She's not known for being a good martial artist/acrobat/whatever. If they wanted an actress to fill a quota, they should have gotten a COMPETENT actress who did so, and not just the first one they found. (Seriously, they could have found others without too much work.) Or maybe the writing just isn't that good. Or maybe the audiences are tired of all the DARK shows that are being offered, and want something more cheerful. Or maybe it's a mix of all of the above. Seriously, if you're going to pander to a group, you can do that. However, it's on you if the resulting show ONLY appeals to them, and if that group doesn't have enough people to support the show. There's legitimate things to do to improve the show or increase who they pander to. I imagine they just focused on the pandering and putting episodes out, and supposing people would automatically tune in based solely on that. No surprise an uproar like that isn't driving more people to the show- people aren't attracted to a show by being insulted or ordered to watch it.

  21. "The Untouchables"? I thought I replied to this last night, but obviously I forgot to.
  22. Its ratings are poor, or are you saying the show stinks? (Or the ratings are poor because the show stinks?)
