  1. War of the Worlds Miranda Otto Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King
  2. You can play on all the threads you want. Just mind the rules of that thread. Some of them are fascinating. :) "When Harry Met Sally." =========================================== How about this for a recognizable quote? I don't think we've used it before... "May the odds be ever in your favor."
  3. Thanks. I'm behind on Supergirl, but caught up on everything else. I should be able to catch up within about a week.
  4. That's it. Studio executive Brandon Tartikoff told Rick Berman what concept to prep for the new series-and that there was a new series to prep.
  5. That's it. (I would have accepted just the song at that point.)
  6. I hallucinate it's my turn, then it's my turn. This week is getting surreal. ====================== When Deep Space 9 was started, they thought about a specific TV series from the black-and-white days. So, we got a guy who moves into a "frontier" area with his son, and is in charge of keeping order. What show's concept did they use?
  7. I don't have one ready- so please go with yours. :)
  8. "And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies, When everything feels like the movies Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive."
  9. And this was Musical Youth's "Pass the Dutchie."
  10. In the interests of encouraging more players, I'm ceding my turn to krys, so this is officially the current quote.
  11. "This generation rules the nation with version. Music happen to be the food of love. Sounds to really make you rub and scrub." "It was a cool and lovely breezy afternoon (How does it feel when you've got no food?) You could feel it 'cause it was the month of June (How does it feel when you've got no food?) So I left my gate and went out for a walk (How does it feel when you've got no food?) As I pass the dreadlocks' camp I heard them say (How does it feel when you've got no food ?)" "So I stopped to find out what was going on (How does it feel when you've got no food?) 'Cause the spirit of Jah, you know, He leads you on (How does it feel when you've got no food?) There was a ring of dreads and a session was there in swing (How does it feel when you've got no food?) You could feel the chill as I seen and heard them say (How does it feel when you've got no food?)"
  12. Hyperbolic writing is sometimes LAZY writing. That's the case here. The writer IS correct that there's a LOT of nosy people who seem to be determined to push that idea, and that's intenational. However, it doesn't even fall under the heading "cult of personality."
  13. Last night, I thought I'd replied because I thought that might have been the answer yesterday. I'm either getting heatstroke or dreaming of replying on threads, or just too busy this week.
  14. It's "Superman:the Movie." (AKA "Superman 1.") Otis wrote the launch codes on his arm. He thought this last code was the third, 117. He was supposed to make the third 11, and the 4th, 7. But he ran out of space on his arm.
  15. Sacha Baron Cohen Madagascar Ben Stiller
  16. "This generation rules the nation with version. Music happen to be the food of love. Sounds to really make you rub and scrub." 17. What do you get when you do a "search" on the name "Jim Jones"? You get posts where his name was mentioned. Here are some: =========================== "Tape # 40 relates how, according to Beter, the 900 plus dead bodies in Guyana were not of the mass homicide/suicide of members of The People's Temple at Jonestown, but rather were dead Russian soldiers killed by US military covert operations." Was he right? "My ex boyfriend was in the military group that did the clean up of Jonestown. To this day he can't think back to that time without the ensuing nightmares coming again. I point blank asked him one day who all died there, due to the crap VP wanted us to believe and the ex said they were all members of Jim Jones cult." "Of course, according to VP, those people were murdered and didn't commit suicide and claimed our government had a hand in it and said that those people in that cult were being treated by our government as if they were sent to Guyanna on a mission since our government went in to get the bodies. He said our government only did that, retrieved bodies like that when people were sent on a mission." "VeePee was caught up in the idea of conspiracy...I only recently threw away my "cuurent Psychological Hoax" this was the tape that vpw said Jim Jones was a CIA experiment. "
  18. Ok, that was Wall of Voodoo's song, "MEXICAN RADIO." Next song. "This generation rules the nation with version. Music happen to be the food of love. Sounds to really make you rub and scrub."
  19. Was this "Bonanza" or something?
  20. "I feel a hot wind on my shoulder And the touch of a world that is older. I turn the switch and check the number. I leave it on when in bed I slumber. I hear the rhythms of the music. I buy the product and never use it. I hear the talking of the DJ Can't understand- just what does he say?" "I dial it in and tune the station. They talk about the U.S. inflation. I understand just a little. No comprende, it's a riddle." "I wish I was in Tijuana Eating barbecued iguana. I'd take requests on the telephone. I'm on a wavelength far from my home. I feel a hot wind on my shoulder. I dial it in from south of the border. I hear the talking of the dj. Can't understand- just what does he say?" This was an 80s one-hit wonder, but I doubt I'm the only one who's heard it. It's actually been covered since. (Surprised me, too.)
