Greatest Misses

You know how you buy an album (?) or CD for one or two songs, and then you hear the rest of the songs on the CD and some of them are bad but others are really, really good - yet they never got any airplay (or hardly any)?

These are songs that didn't quite become "hits," but are really good songs. I call them "Greatest Misses."

What are yours?

Running on Ice, Billy Joel

James, Billy Joel

Temptation, Billy Joel

Baby Grand, Billy Joel and Ray Charles

How Can I Not Love You, Joy Enriquez

Only Love, Linda Eder

The Edge of Forever, The Dream Academy

Lonely is the Night, Air Supply

anybody ever hear of a band called "Marillion"?

had an album in the eighties (I think) called "Misplaced Childhood"... the only song that got radio play was "Kayleigh" but every single song is good if not great... listen to the whole album from beginning to end, it's a concept album and fits together rather nicely, great from beginning to end...

...at least that's what I think...

... I've been here and I've been there and I've been in between...

I agree with you about "Running on Ice." icon_smile.gif:)-->

Is the "Lonely Is the Night" by Air Supply the same song Billy Squier

did by the same name, or another?

Definite agreement with you, WordWolf, on "The Pass" by Rush and "Beauty and Sadness" by The Smithereens.

Smithereens: "Miles From Nowhere"

R.E.M.: "Wendell Gee", "Driver 8"

Big Country: "Thirteen Valleys"

Jason and the Scorchers: "Victory Road"
