Dr. Taylor Marshall, Protestant turned Catholic, is well-qualified to explain the intricate differences as he has been with both groups for several years of his life. I like his explaining Catholic beliefs more so, since me having left TWI with much questions and basic disgust of the Catholic Church, Dr. Marshall hopefully explains these details in a way that Protestants may be a little more tolerant of Catholics.

I think Kennedy was still in his 40s when he was shot. I suspect that FDR was older than 59 when he died (after 14 years in office). I also thing WHH was an older guy. I'm thinking Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley, and James Garfield. All assassinated and moderately young. George

I'll have to thank her for correctly identifying which was "the Time Tunnel." I suspected it was up there, but she used to watch the show.

Depending on how you look at it, this movie was either very faithful to the source material, or deviated wildly from the source material. Just looking at the name of the film, it's obvious what the original work was- which is very famous in its own right- and also obvious that it takes some creative license with the material. It boasts an all-star cast, and it was based on a very famous previous work. The original author is definitely very famous-you've all heard of him. I'm impressed the movie was greenlit- the guy in charge was not known for directing movies, he was known for directing music videos. It has a number of famous lines in it- so famous I'm leery of posting any as clues. The director took creative license with this film (no, really?). Examples include the scene with a guy obviously in drag, and the scene with the drug use (actually, the scenes overlap.) A number of the actors were fairly safe choices- nobody worries if Paul Sorvino can manage his scenes- but a few were riskier. John Leguizamo in an action scene? Yes- and he did rather well. Not many movies include television news broadcasts as part of the story- but this one did, and for reasons that seem obvious and necessary in hindsight.

Depending on your needs, you might be fine with a free program. I don't want this thread to get in trouble for going Doctrinal or-more likely- getting Political. Oldiesman didn't say he saw them as other than human beings. No matter what you think of other people, we're all human beings, and we're all sinners. lcm used to scream all sorts of things, and probably DIDN'T see most people as " human beings." I don't know about now, nor do I care. If he wants me to know, he can come here and post it for himself. IMO, hateful screeds are worse than useless. If you want to get people to repent something, you have to remember " the goodness of God". As to what needs repenting, is " wrong", or is " sinful", we'll probably have to agree to disagree. You're choosing the words in your head, and when and how you're using them. Make the decision as to what you're going to call them. Decades ago, I started calling them "twi" (no capitalization, no respect whether or not it's grammatical), and that's how I refer to them in posts or in conversation- unless I have to stop and make an exception, which is incredibly rare. Each time you do it, it gets easier to do it for the next time. You built ONE habit, now you're building a DIFFERENT habit. At first, you may make a mistake- or several- but keep at it. It will get easier over time. I've had to learn Spanish, in a country where the pronunciation has differences from where I grew up in the US. One difference is very obvious. I made a point to practice it all the time. I made a few mistakes. After a few months, it became automatic, and I have to consciously make an effort to pronounce the sound "the old way." For that matter, the slang is different, and I adjusted to the local slang, and just remember the other slang for when I have to travel or "skype" with people. (I'm going to need a few more months to get used to terms other than "skyping" for videoconferencing.) I call it "twi." If that doesn't work for you, pick a name you prefer. Have no idea what else to choose? Open a new thread and ask for suggestions. You should get a few interesting ones, hopefully several useful ones in between people who make a joke instead of helping. (It's a very unusual request, even if it's a simple one.) Then go through the thread and rank the results, and pick the one you like best.
